Reviews for Nouilles de Lan Zhou
Reviews often mention
noodle(420) soup(122) beef(81) broth(78) spicy(39) recommend(37) rapide(36) bowl(35) busy(32) fresh(29) huge(27) salad(26)The food is amazing but the service is awful, & they put 18% for tip, so be careful, I don't have problem with tips but I don't pay it if the service is bad & rude.
Expérience parfaite!! On a été servis en 5 minutes, c'est délicieux, pas cher, généreux... Bravo!
The food was very good, specially the noodles. But the place is very crowded & the space is rather small.
Also, we asked for a Coke that never arrived.
Our family of six had a terrible experience at this noodle restaurant during our trip to Montreal, Quebec. The first two of us arrived & had to wait for 15 minutes without a single staff member coming to greet us. After trying to get someone to noticed, they made us wait until all six of us had come to were seated, even though there were plenty of empty tables. We ordered traditional beef noodles, zha jiang noodles, & dan dan noodles. They were awful including side dishes; we practically left half of our food uneaten. I don't understand why this noodle restaurant has so many high ratings. We followed the reviews & were disappointed with both the staff & the noodles.
On vient pour les nouilles (mention spéciale aux nouilles dan-dan) par contre le service est assez moyen.
It's good. I got the beef noodle - classic one but the veg noodle has no taste. 2 combo ended up close to $43 (tip not included yet)
Don't go as a vegetarian. The vegetarian option is bland & not good. This place is best known for meat options lanzhou la mien is a spicy beef noodle speciality.
The small veggie dishes were good
Best place to eat good Noodles in downtown. Combo nouilles de Lanzhou my fav❤?
Quality of the food is good. Authentic hand made noodles. If you dine in, there is almost always a wait (30min) & the space is limited inside.
The noodles here slap. Literally, you can see them stretching & slapping the hand pulled noodles through the window. I like the Lanzhou Beef Noodles spicy version. I think the broth could be better, it tastes a bit flat. But overall, it's good value to eat in & have a bowl of noodles, especially as the weather gets colder.
The noodles here are good, I've had it many times in the past. When I got to the restaurant today, I politely asked if there was room for two as I did not see there were already a few people lining up at a wall. The waiter was extremely rude. He pointed at the line & yelled: « LINE UP!!! ». No greetings, no smile, just pure command. That was not necessary, he should treat customers with more respect. I left promptly.
Finally tried this place after passing by a few times. I went there during a very cold Monday night & there was no lines & I got seated right away.
The beef noodle dish was good similar to the Vietnamese bun bo hue, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get in line to try it.
This place always hits. The menu is very limited, but everything they offer is out of this world. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for the portion size. A combo of main + 2 sides will set you back $20-$25 & you'll eat very well. Highly recommend. The only issue I have with the place is how small it is. There's always a lineup & there's very little room to wait inside. It's just proof of the resto's success though.
As a chinese, my standards might be a tad bit high, so I did not find the food particularly amazing, as the broth was a little lackluster in taste & the texture of the noodles were tough & uneven for my liking.
But by Montreal's standards of chinese food, this place is definitely worth the visit. The portion sizes are very generous, especially since we chose the largest possible option. The atmosphere was unique & interesting, the decorations felt quite authentic. It was also fun to watch the noodle chefs stretch the dough & cook the noodled by the entrance.
I had beef noodles in Lanzhou, the taste here is 80% similar with Lanzhou local beef noodles. But it was good, especially in Montreal.
Mon restaurant préféré depuis que j'ai 7ans. C'est un confort manger la bas sa fait du bien. Toujours une fil d'attendu l'extérieur mais sa avance asser vite & quand tu sais a quel point c'est bon, l'attente vaut le coup.
