The reviews aren't wrong. This is an amazing restaurant. Really top quality. I'll start with the atmosphere (vibes), & they were amazing. I loved the decor; it really added to the whole experience. Great work. Our waitress was so sweet, gave us some recommendations, & kept bringing us water! Now for the food, it was super. I got the spicy dry ramen; keep in mind it's actually really spicy but super good, so I highly recommend it. We also got a side order of sweet & spicy fried chicken, which didn't disappoint. I'd highly suggest going here; you won't be disappointed. Kind of random, but they don't accept cash, so keep that in mind. Thanks for the experience. I'll be back.View more

Very nice atmosphere in the dining place, giving the Japanese cyberpunk vibes. It's also a nice to hangout for a drink or two with friends. I have been here during lunch hours & it's crowded with a long queue. However, when I come after 8:30pm, I can straight walk in & have a seat without waiting.View more

NeoTokyo offre une expérience unique, alliant une atmosphère futuriste à des influences culinaires japonaises, rappelant des classiques de la science-fiction comme Blade Runner. Le décor est saisissant, avec des éléments qui plongent les convives dans un univers cyberpunk. L'ambiance est un bon atout, & je ne suis pas le seul à avoir remarqué cette vibe underground & moderne. Le service est chaleureux, bien qu'on note parfois une légère attente aux heures de pointe. Arriver tôt est donc recommandé. Pour notre part, un vendredi midi à 11h30, nous avions le choix de toutes les places! Côté nourriture, c'est un des grands points forts. Le ramen au curry est riche & savoureux, un véritable coup de coeur! De nombreux critiques encensent également les karaage épicés, & après les avoir goûtés, je comprends pourquoi : ils sont excellents! Cependant, certains plats, comme la pieuvre, ont laissé mes collègues un peu plus tièdes. Ce n'était pas mauvais, mais il manquait le fameux wow qu'on attend parfois. Par ailleurs, quelques clients ont mentionné que les prix sont un peu élevés comparés à d'autres restaurants de ramen à Montréal. Dans l'ensemble, NeoTokyo est un excellent choix pour les amateurs de cuisine japonaise, offrant à la fois des plats traditionnels & innovants dans un cadre visuellement captivant. Avec sa nourriture savoureuse & son service sympathique, c'est un petit resto intéressant pour vivre une expérience culinaire unique à Montréal.View more

The ambience of this place is great! It gives off a cyberpunk/stray vibe. Service was very good too. Food took a little too long but the server was very attentive. As for the food, my partner & I ordered the mazemen & the tonkotsu ramen...first few bites we were amazed by the flavour! But after a few more bites it gets old. Overall both dishes were too salty. The menu is small & doesnt offer much variety for food (yes for drinks). Not a kid-friendly place (nor picky-eater-friendly). It's also very expensive, $70 for two people, 2 ramens, 1 non-alcoholic drink & 15% tip.View more

Visited during a recent trip to Montreal while in the downtown area. The restaurant atmosphere is a futuristic vibe with Japanese influences throughout the restaurant. They are better known for their ramen & mazemen (brothless ramen) dishes, as well as various Japanese inspired side dishes. Their best known mazemen bowl which is their Neotokyo Extra which comes with added chashu, an ajitama egg on top of their regular Neotokyo Mazemen bowl. It is a sizeable portion for one especially since it comes with an added bowl of rice to clean up the leftover sauce used for the mazemen. The flavours all mix very well & is a unique way of eating ramen as a whole. Overall, a decent spot for Japanese ramen & for an izakaya-like experience. Service was generally very friendly while I was there & my order came at a reasonable time despite the packed atmosphere. Recommended to come earlier to avoid the peak evening dinner time as there can be a bit of a wait.View more

For Montreal ramen it was very good. As we just got back from Japan we're hesitant to eat Japanese food here since we know it will never measure up, but this was very satisfying. Tonkatsu ramen: broth lacked some depth, noodles lacked some chew, but the porc was incredibly tender & tasty, egg was probably the best ramen egg I've ever had, & the bamboo had great flavour. Awesome cyberpunk vibes & good food! The interior was stunning & felt very Blade Runner-esque. My friends & I came on a Friday night, over an hour before closing, & waited about 7 minutes before getting a table. The interior is so die for! It was moderately noisy, full, & quite hot, but we were graciously seated next to a fan. The service was quick, friendly, & amazing! We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen, the Tokyo Style ramen, & the TanTan ramen. The food was good but not special. The Tonkatsu ramen was delicious, while the Tokyo style was ok & the TanTan was not good. The TanTan was extremely salty despite adding a cup of water to the broth, perhaps because we visited at the end of the day. Otherwise, the chasu & broth was flavourful & aromatic. Would come here again to give their mazemens a try!View more

This was a fantastic find. The retro Tokyo vibes were super cool, from ceiling to the floor to the bathroom everything was on theme. The drinks were very good & the food delicious. Come here for the cyberpunk vibes, not the food. The salmon mazemen is one of the worst noodle dishes I've ever tasted. There was nothing wrong with the salmon or ikura on their own, but the sauce they used was so fishy. The noodles were cold & on the firm side, so unless you REALLY love the taste of raw fish, the whole dish will taste like the stench of a fish market. The only redeeming dish was the spicy karaage. It was crispy & the spiciness level was just about right with a tinge of sweetness. However it was not good enough to forget about the unpleasantness of the mazemen. This place is usually busy too, so expect a long wait to get in & get your food.View more

Came in the restaurant on a sat around 10:15 & got a table around 10:25ish ,they closed at 11. Service & vibes were definitely there no complaints on that end. Tried the speciality neotokyo Taiwanese mazeboba, had a nice variety of toppings so kudos however it tasted mid to me, onions were overpowering & the dish itself seemed bland (some type of sauce could have been incorporated more). If they left sauce on the side could be nice. So overall 6/10 for that dish. We also ordered the salmon noodles dish, I was really disappointed at how plain of a dish it was. It was literally just cured salmon, fish eggs & noodles with I think just oil. This dish could use more textures & sauce for sure. Don’t get me wrong it’s ok but not what I expected & anyone could make this if I’m being honest. So for this 5/10. I guess to each it’s own. Overall review service 10/10, Atmosphere 10/10 & food 6/10
