Décor fun & futuriste d'un Tokyo apocalyptique. Les plats sont très bons & foutu. Une coche au-dessus que Kinto Ramen. Les bouillons ont vraiment chacun une personnalité différente. On a envie de tout tester. Je recommande entre amis, mais aussi possible en famille. Attention c'est bruyant. En solo ou à deux, je recommande de s'asseoir au bar mais pas au table haute car on est face à un mur, on ne voit ni la salle ni les cuisiniers.View more

I may have found my new favorite ramen place in town.
The decor is striking. It's like the original Blade Runner. It's very well done. Great place for a dinner date.
Menu has a lot of typical appetizers, ramen & mazemen. We tried the house wontons, the classic tonkotsu ramen & house mazemen. Everything was excellent. The katsu was perfect, probably the best I've had here.
The cocktails were also very interesting. Nice staff.
Come early, because it's popular.
Prices aren't cheap (especially the apps), but the quality is there. I'll absolutely return.View more

Unbelievably tasty food!
The Tan-Tan was to die for. Inside it's a very unique decor, felt like I was in Blade Runner, very cool. Angela was great with us, super friendly & attentive despite how busy they got. Highly highly recommend one of my favourite bowls of ramen ever.
Tip: they don't take bookings for dinner so go early! We went on a weekday & it got packed by 6:30.View more

The reviews aren't wrong. This is an amazing restaurant. Really top quality. I'll start with the atmosphere (vibes), & they were amazing. I loved the decor; it really added to the whole experience. Great work. Our waitress was so sweet, gave us some recommendations, & kept bringing us water! Now for the food, it was super. I got the spicy dry ramen; keep in mind it's actually really spicy but super good, so I highly recommend it. We also got a side order of sweet & spicy fried chicken, which didn't disappoint. I'd highly suggest going here; you won't be disappointed. Kind of random, but they don't accept cash, so keep that in mind. Thanks for the experience. I'll be back.View more

Took me all this time for a review there (although I went there a while back): Decor & atmosphere is unique, it gives off the feeling of eating in the streets in an Asian country. Even the seating & all, which looked to me like classroom desks & chairs, goes along with this theme. Everything was well put & thought. Food wise, no caveats on our end as well. Takoyaki, Salmon & Crème de Bacon Mazemen were our picks. The Crème was from a suggestions from a friend that really enjoyed the fusion. I vouch their words as well. Try it once at least.View more

NeoTokyo offre une expérience unique, alliant une atmosphère futuriste à des influences culinaires japonaises, rappelant des classiques de la science-fiction comme Blade Runner. Le décor est saisissant, avec des éléments qui plongent les convives dans un univers cyberpunk. L'ambiance est un bon atout, & je ne suis pas le seul à avoir remarqué cette vibe underground & moderne. Le service est chaleureux, bien qu'on note parfois une légère attente aux heures de pointe. Arriver tôt est donc recommandé. Pour notre part, un vendredi midi à 11h30, nous avions le choix de toutes les places! Côté nourriture, c'est un des grands points forts. Le ramen au curry est riche & savoureux, un véritable coup de coeur! De nombreux critiques encensent également les karaage épicés, & après les avoir goûtés, je comprends pourquoi : ils sont excellents! Cependant, certains plats, comme la pieuvre, ont laissé mes collègues un peu plus tièdes. Ce n'était pas mauvais, mais il manquait le fameux wow qu'on attend parfois. Par ailleurs, quelques clients ont mentionné que les prix sont un peu élevés comparés à d'autres restaurants de ramen à Montréal. Dans l'ensemble, NeoTokyo est un excellent choix pour les amateurs de cuisine japonaise, offrant à la fois des plats traditionnels & innovants dans un cadre visuellement captivant. Excellent cocktail & très bon saké froid. Rien a dire de négatif. Une nouvelle adresse à retourner très certainement. I've grown to love mazemen, as a flavorful & less fat-heavy alternative to ramen, but it's hard to find. So when I heard that Neotokyo specializes in the dish, I decided to swing by for dinner. The futuristic decor is a fun touch & the staff are friendly, & I was very happy with my food. I ordered the Neotokyo house mazemen & the cucumber salad, & both were delicious & reasonably priced. Atmosphere & decor were incredible! Staff were attentive & friendly. However, the food was really lacking. My noodles were way too over seasoned tasting super salty & fatty making it unpleasant to eat. Fastfood quality made it feel overpriced unfortunately.View more

Really cool decor for a restaurant for sure! Unfortunately, the food was not exactly up to par considering the price point in my opinion. Takoyaki was tasty, nothing negative about it. The Mezamen I thought tasted ok & is a nice option. The Tonkotsu ramen was the most unfortunate as it made my friend sick & tasted odd. I do not know if they put some sort of cream or milk in the broth but it tasted as though cream had not been tempered in the broth properly & curdled, which is too bad. I value a restaurant's food above all else which is why I am only giving 3 stars, but we otherwise had a good service & the atmosphere was fun.View more

Première fois que j'y mettais les pieds, sûrement pas la dernière, mais plus pour le lunch. Mazemen, ramen, poulet frit piquant, aubergine & saké , un peu de tout pour passer une bonne soirée! Très peu de saké sur la carte. Un service rapide. Une nourriture qui se défend sans être dans les meilleurs. Ça vaut tout de même le détour, si ce n'est que pour l'ambiance & le décors.View more

We had the Karaage, Takoyaki "nachos" & Tonkotsu. The Tonkotsu arrived to the table about 5 minutes before the appetizers which was a little strange, but everything was served within ten - fifteen minutes of ordering. The Tonkotsu was very flavorful, maybe slightly too salty, but still very enjoyable. The noodles & the egg were done perfectly! Noodles had a soft & chewy texture, egg was soft boiled to perfection, & the creamy broth coated everything nicely. The meat could have been more tender & flavourful, but it wasn't bad by any means. Next came the Takoyaki "nachos". I'm a big fan of Takoyaki, we asked if we could get it traditional, without the "nacho" part, but we were told it's not possible. It's 4 pieces in total, fried with Dorito crumbs, covered in sauce, sliced fresh jalapeno, & bonito flakes. I usually love bonito flakes, but these ones were SO smoky & overpowering that I couldn't taste the Takoyaki or the sauce. Seriously unpleasant in my opinion, I felt like I ate a spoonful of liquid smoke. The Karaage was good, well battered & very tender, served with an interesting aoli, however, still not what I was hoping for. (If you love Karaage, check it out at Gyu Kaku. *Chefs kiss*). The atmosphere was great, we loved the lighting & decor, & the service was friendly but if I'm being honest, the best part of the meal was who I ate it with. Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but wouldn't go back.View more

The Neotokyo Mazesoba is excellent. Very tasty, & nice combination of textures & flavours. Highly recommended. The tonkotsu ramen is just alright. The broth was a bit bland, so I don't recommend that dish. Drinks were hit & miss. The H2O is refreshing, but the lemon overpowers the other ingredients. The Vista Del Rey is super good if you like minty flavours, but the portion size is way too small. Overall, the drinks aren't good value. I suggest drinking before or after going here, or just ordering a beer if you must. The decor is fun, staff was attentive. Space fills up fast. Not sure I'll return, as the overall value is just alright.View more

Le décor, génial! Trois personnes, au bar sur le bord du mur avec comme seul éclairage un neon bleu pour lire le menu. Un menu en anglais parce qu'il n'en restait plus en français . Un serveur qui a la merveilleuse habitude... d'appeler tout le monde "guys". On explique pas les plats (même si on pose des questions..), tout est vague. Un wow pour l'attention d'un membre du staff pour avoir donné un extra algue à mon fils. Le menu est nullement adapté pour les enfants (même format pour tout le monde..) La nourriture, c'était ok..le goût,la portion,la température du plats, c'était juste, ok. Rien qui me ferait revenir ni même y envoyer manger des amis. La déco par exemple! ÇA, c'est réussi! Si vous me le permettez, j'aimerais entamer cette critique par parenthèse de discussion métaphysique. Je crois avoir entrepris d'écrire des commentaires comme celui non seulement par désir d'informer, de partager, mais pareillement pour en découvrir davantage sur moi & ce qui me plait tant dans une sortie au restaurant. Au fil des expériences, il se dégage un parti pris majeur quant au type d'ambiance qui suscite en moi les plus vives réactions. En général, moins le lieu est peuplé, plus mon bonheur est à son comble. D'une part, dans un décor enchanteur comme celui du Neo Tokyo, le sentiment de dépaysement est plus grand quand on y retrouve moins de visages & de teints qui ressemblent au mien. J'en retire un plaisir similaire à celui d'un voyage en terres étrangères. D'autre part - j'avais souligné ce point récemment -, les rapports humains avec nos hôtes peuvent devenir plus profonds, les interactions, plus longues, sans avoir l'impression d'accaparer indûment leur attention au détriment d'autres convives. Surtout, je n'affectionne pas particulièrement me retrouver au milieu d'une marée humaine, quelle qu'elle soit. Non par agoraphobie, non. Par désir d'unicité, d'exclusivité... de compétitivité ? Vouloir avoir une expérience supérieure à celle des autres, pouvoir être le seul à profiter de quelque chose... Me sentir privilégié. Quoi qu'il en soit, je suis encore en phase d'exploration de moi-même, mais je trouve ces pistes de réflexion intéressantes. Maintenant, vous vous demandez peut-être quel est le lien avec un avis sur un restaurant ? Ne vous en faites pas, j'y arrive. En identifiant mes penchants, je découvre également les raisons pour lesquelles, pour un repas & un service de qualité équivalente, l'un aura émotionnellement (& subjectivement) l'ascendant sur l'autre. Les faits étant que le ramen Tonkostu & le Mazemen Mazesoba figurent tous deux parmi les meilleurs que nous avons consommés & que les entrées de gyoza & karaage épicé se sont envolées comme des petits pains chauds. Mes deux compagnons de table étaient aux anges. Pour revenir au décor inspiré du film Blade Runner, les propriétaires se sont vraiment donné la peine de créer un lieu unique en son genre. Finalement, le service était adéquat & amical, passant de rapide à un tantinet lent, à mesure que le restaurant se remplissait (atteignant pleine capacité vers 18 h 30, soit une heure après l'ouverture). Pourtant, pour les causes arbitraires ci-dessus expliquées - trop de touristes comme moi -, je n'ai pas pu apprécier ce moment à sa juste valeur, alors je n'en ferai point cas & je m'exclamerai : chapeau ! C'est une réussite. En outre, l'idée de placer un jeu d'arcade près des toilettes est une belle touche.View more
