Review Summary

Musubi offers attractive onigiri with thoughtful fillings and well balanced rice, though several reviews note that portions can be smaller and prices can feel high, making some diners feel it is overpriced for the value; the onigiri are well made and visually appealing, and the staff are friendly and attentive, with the owner taking time to guide choices. The venue also features a solid beer list and occasional specialty drinks, as well as a range of desserts and mochi that many find delicious. Some tasters praise items like the spicy tuna onigiri and a chicken onigiri with surprising flavors, and new creations such as lobster or snow crab onigiri received enthusiastic reactions, while others enjoy the refreshing yuzunade and light sake based cocktails. Overall Musubi is described as a dependable and pleasant stop for a quick bite, offering a mix of classic and inventive flavors that invite return visits, even as some note prices and portions could be more generous.

It's a ✨?MUST GO SPOT✨?
Been going there several times since summer 2024! I love the little decorations they've put onto their shop! One of my to-go spot to eat at before going to work! Whenever I'm craving of authentic onigiri, this is the place I go at whenever I'm in the area 😋🍙 My favorite onigiri is their limited time fresh lobster 'homard' 🦞 & you can't find it anywhere else in Montreal that's for sure 🙈

Excellent service, family business place (husband & wife), portion ratio between the rice & filling is perfect to me ! I always order 1 to 4 onigiris since it's not too heavy meal for me 🍙🍙🍙🍙 Desserts & drinks there are always so deliciousss but always forgot to take pictures of it I tend to eat it like immediately & realize it after I ate it The owners are friendly & always answer to all my questions / it's always fun chatting with them 🥰

I'm thrilled to see a opening onigiri shop, we have to support small business , bring your friends & family to try some unique onigiri flavors 🫶

Looking forward to taste their futur creations 🥰

One might not expect to find an authentic Japanese Izakaya / onigiri shop in the Jean-Talon Market, yet interestingly, this is their second season doing business at the popular open air market. Undoubtedly, worth stopping by to try their creations; especially things like their fresh cracker lobster & the newest menu item a snow crab onigiri - with its touch of mayo & black pepper. This rare specialty has just the right balance of oceanic essence, culinary delicacy & subtle seafood texture.

Good news, they now have an alcohol license & this flavour combination married well with their draft lager - a hint of rice wine at the offset.

Finishing off with a local strawberry mochi dessert is always in order or perhaps their onigiri of the week which happened to be made with ample fresh asparagus - if you like savoury desserts.

Kudos to their hard working team serving the hungry yet happy & upbeat market crowd.

Authentic taste! Got the tuna musubi & shiso musubi. Simple, authentic, affordable (6 dollars each). I'll definitely be back to try more dishes & desserts.
