The dishes are always freshly prepared, & the owner & staff are incredibly friendly & welcoming. My go to is Mixed Plate, Chicken Roti, Ackee & Salt Fish with fried dumplings. The restaurant is always clean & inviting. Highly recommend!
M.T.L. YARDIE truly deserves every bit of this 5-star rating! The food is consistently fresh, flavourful, & made with love. From the very first bite, you can taste the authenticity & passion that goes into every dish.
Their jerk chicken, oxtail, brown stew chicken, fried chicken, rice & peas, & goat curry are all outstanding - always perfectly seasoned & cooked to perfection. & for those who know… the Pumpkin Rice (a secret menu gem!) is absolutely incredible & takes the meal to another level.
On top of the amazing food, the service is warm, welcoming, & always on point. The team treats you like family every single visit, which makes the experience even better.
If you're looking for real Jamaican flavour, generous portions, & consistent quality, M.T.L. YARDIE is the spot! Highly recommended!
Ordered the jerk chicken meal & fried dumplings via ubereats & the food was very tasty & flavorful especially the dumplings & jerk chicken my only suggestion is to add jerk chicken patties to the ubereats menu. Thanks
Delicious food & don't forget the jerk chicken patties!! So good. Clean & friendly staff. Well worth the drive!
Omg that Rotti… I have been dreaming of a rotti since I moved from TO to MTL… finally got to eat one that is AMAZING!!! Look at that juiciness. & the hot sauce (delicious) .
& that jerk chicken stuffed patty! Omg the spices & the taste!!! AMAZING :)
I ordered here, yesterday for the first time & this had, honestly, the best jerk chicken i had eaten in a long time. So much so that i reordered today & trust me i will definitiy be a returning customer. I definitly would recommand. The only problem i had was them not adding the little mac & cheese to my plate, but i ordered fries instead of rice so maybe they thought that i wasn't expecting it.
Jerk chicken stuffed patty is to die for.
Run, don't walk to this place!
Highly recommend you won't be disappointed....
This pumpkin soup & chicken roti, took me straight back home. So good. Best Jamaican spot in Montreal
MTL Yardie somehow showed up on ny Instagram & for weeks I have been wanting to try it. I drove from the South Shore (traffic & all) & was not disappointed. I ordered the chicken curry rotie & the macaroni pie. My initial thought was that it was very pricey however the portions were large enough for 2 people or leftovers for another day. The chicken rotie was amazing! The macaroni pie could use a bit of seasoning but definitely didn't stop me from eating it. Haha! I will most definitely go back & recommend to others. If i had to find a negative, the only thing i could say (at least for now) is that they do not offer'breast only' options. I was hoping to try the stewed chicken & jerk chicken however I could not order just the breast meat. I had no choice but go with the rotie (it was still fantastic).
My boyfriend & I love this place! When we first got to Montreal we were eating here 3 times a week 😂 put on a little weight… none the less. Great food & great hospitality. Love the roti, huge servings with the fried chicken & the pineapple lemonade he gave us was amazing too. Thank you!!
Ok guys sa fait + de 1 an que j'entends parlé de ce resto. J'y suis allé today jai pris un meal fried chicken…. Jai rien a dire. Le genre de fried chicken qui te laisse un palais satisfait. Best fried chicken in town
Much bigger than I thought it was with the extra counter for bagels & sandwiches. Lots of great choices, decent prices. Cost about 40$ for 2 people & you get generous portions. Super nice & quick customer service. The jerk chicken was amazing, literally falling off the bone, the rice & peas with the sauce on top perfectly seasoned & the salad & mac & cheese flavorful. My only critique was that the beef patty was a tad bit dry but maybe we got ones that had been there a bit longer. Happens.
Highly recommend 👌
Very clean, people are great vibes. Jerk is very solid, sauce is nice but the fried chicken is one of the best I've had in awhile
Truthfully the BEST Jamaican food in Montreal. I had the juicy oxtail that fell right off the bone & some jerk chicken & let me tell you I received the BEST SERVICE. I can't wait to return with all of my friends as well as use their catering services for future family & friend events.
Food is fabulous. I haven't tried a single thing that wasn't packed with flavour & cooked to perfection. I've visited a few times & the jerk chicken roti (jerk chicken, period) & the lobster soup were my favourites so far. I would also like to say that the friendly & caring service makes the experience that much better. I will be a repeat customer for life!
Our visit was delightful, & we quickly discovered some standout dishes. The macaroni pie was a comforting, cheesy delight, while the jerked chicken was perfectly seasoned & grilled to perfection. The jerked salmon was equally impressive, offering a succulent bite infused with that signature flavor. The great sauces served alongside the dishes added depth & a delightful mix of flavors that truly showcased the essence of Jamaican cuisine. & we can't forget the black cake, a rich, moist, & very dense dessert that was the perfect ending to our meal. One of the highlights of our dining experience was the hibiscus drink. Without a doubt, it was the best hibiscus drink I've ever had-refreshing & vibrant.
So I'm fairly new to Montreal & having lived in Toronto, it's very easy to find an authentic Jamaican spot. I had a friend mention that he knew a really good Jamaican spot & I didn't believe him until he forced me here. I've been here twice in the span of a week. Their food tastes authentic & you get so much food for the price. The first time I was there I go their Jerk Chicken meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a cup of Sorrel. Second time got the Fried Chicken Meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a Ting. While we waited the second time, they offered us a sample of their soup. It tasted like my mom's soup, I was so happy. Next time I go, I'll probably order that. All in all, it's far from where I live but don't mind making the trek & the people inside are very nice. You won't regret it. One more thing to add - Give me a bigger slice of that Mac & Cheese next time, please lol
Best jamaicain food in the city authentic & very nice atmosphere i ordered the salty fish & jerk chicken & it was amazing just the right amount of spice not too spicy
