I preordered 3 jerk patties & one ox tail patty, the owner said they didn't have any ox tail patties it was a November thing. I took 4 jerk ones for me & my peeps & as usual they were delicious. 😋 Complaining about things that are out of
one's control is not my thing. 😉 my top spot for authentic Caribbean food. I Highly recommend

We went to MTL from Toronto for the weekend. We looked up this restaurant on Google. It definitely is the number 1 spot in MTL for authentic jamaican cuisine. The service was unforgettable thank you.

MTL YARDIE is my go-to spot for authentic Caribbean-Jamaican food whenever I'm craving some bold flavour. The dishes are always freshly prepared, & the owner & staff are incredibly friendly & welcoming. My go to is Mixed Plate, Chicken Roti, Ackee & Salt Fish with fried dumplings. The restaurant is always clean & inviting. Highly recommend!

M.T.L. YARDIE truly deserves every bit of this 5-star rating! The food is consistently fresh, flavourful, & made with love. From the very first bite, you can taste the authenticity & passion that goes into every dish.

Their jerk chicken, oxtail, brown stew chicken, fried chicken, rice & peas, & goat curry are all outstanding - always perfectly seasoned & cooked to perfection. & for those who know… the Pumpkin Rice (a secret menu gem!) is absolutely incredible & takes the meal to another level.

On top of the amazing food, the service is warm, welcoming, & always on point. The team treats you like family every single visit, which makes the experience even better.

If you're looking for real Jamaican flavour, generous portions, & consistent quality, M.T.L. YARDIE is the spot! Highly recommended!

I've been here a few times to try different items from their menu. First time, the wait took about 20 mins to receive my order but the woman was very friendly so it wasn't a problem. Roti skin was decent but the curry wasn't the best & lacked some seasonings. Also, wayyy too much potato & barely any meat. Doesn't allow you to get the full potential of the meat itself. The size of the roti is about half the size that you get at other Caribbean restos for about the same price. It's like a mini roti lol. Second time, I placed my order beforehand & picked it up. Upon arriving, the owner was busy chatting so i waited. He saw me when i walked in but continued chatting. I stood at the counter & waited almost 15 mins before getting acknowledged. During the wait time, I was looking for another employee to just hand me my order that was paid for, ready & sitting there but they were busy filling stock. The owner only acknowledged me because I turned to leave. At that point, I have to admit that I didn't appreciate his attitude or dirty look but was happy to get my order & get out of there! All in all, service is a hit or miss, 50/50 chance of getting good service & the rotis are mostly filled with potato & little meat. Would give the roti a solid 6/10. Would buy again if I was really craving it but otherwise, there are better rotis at other, more authentic Caribbean restaurants. Overhyped on social media & lack of taste isn't not worth the hype or price.

Read some of the reviews & hope the response isn't that I have bad taste buds 😂😭 hope you guys step your kitchen game up & fix your service issue because I'd definitely give it another try. Otherwise, not too sure…

So I'm fairly new to Montreal & having lived in Toronto, it's very easy to find an authentic Jamaican spot. I had a friend mention that he knew a really good Jamaican spot & I didn't believe him until he forced me here. I've been here twice in the span of a week. Their food tastes authentic & you get so much food for the price. The first time I was there I go their Jerk Chicken meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a cup of Sorrel. Second time got the Fried Chicken Meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a Ting. While we waited the second time, they offered us a sample of their soup. It tasted like my mom's soup, I was so happy. Next time I go, I'll probably order that. All in all, it's far from where I live but don't mind making the trek & the people inside are very nice. You won't regret it. One more thing to add - Give me a bigger slice of that Mac & Cheese next time, please lol
