MIKE & MARIA MADE OUR NIGHT & WERE AMAZING DESPITE HOW ANNOYING OUR GROUP WAS! SHOUTOUT TO THEM & THEIR MATCHA COCKTAIL IS CHEF KISS :)) bring ur date there, they'd fall in love w u 🫰🏽
A great new spot that opened less than a year ago, very cozy, with amazing staff & good house music playing in the background at night.
It's a small, intimate space where the chef prepares your hand rolls & sushi right in front of you. There are no reservations-first come, first served-& seating is limited to about 1 hour & 15 minutes per group.
The food is excellent. The A5 aburi wagyu ($22 per piece), imported from Japan, is definitely a standout. They also offer off-menu items, like a sea urchin hand roll (also from Japan), along with options like salmon, toro ($20 for 2 pieces), & bluefin tuna ($15 for 2 pieces) nigiris.
For tighter budgets, they also offer set menus of 3 to 5 hand rolls at a fixed price, which ends up being more affordable than ordering everything à la carte.
I tried the negui toro, spicy shrimp, bluefin tuna, lobster, & hamachi handrolls, as well as the bluefin tuna & scallop crudo (both $20 for 4 pieces). Everything was fresh & well-executed. My favorite was definitely the toro.
Salmon is from Canada.
Tuna is from Mexico.
We also tried ice cream mochi as dessert.
We also met the owner, who pays close attention to every customer & makes sure everyone is well taken care of-super nice & welcoming.
If you're waiting or have finished eating, there are booths around the bar where you can sit & enjoy drinks. It's a perfect spot for a date or a fun night out with friends.
The drinks are great too-we had an unfiltered sake bottle, & on another visit, a bottle of wine, with a bunch or other cocktails & drinks.
I'd definitely go back.
There's no street parking, but you can find paid parking nearby or park on neighboring streets.
Really beautiful date spot, super vibey & intimate.
The fish they used for the hand rolls was so fresh! The toro roll & salmon roll were the best I think

Expérience incroyable! La nourriture & les breuvages sont impeccables l'ambiance est soft & le staff encore mieux! Merci à Maria, Paul, Ming & Mike. Une date réussi & nous reviendrons assurément!
Motto was a fantastic experience. I sat at the counter & asked the chef for recommendations - he suggested the scallop handroll & the hamachi crudo, & both were outstanding. The scallop in particular was so fresh & perfectly balanced that I ended up ordering a second one. Each handroll was made right in front of me & served immediately, which made a huge difference in texture & flavor.
It actually reminded me a lot of Kazunori in New York - same focus on quality, simplicity, & timing - but with its own distinct charm. The ambiance was intimate & stylish without feeling stuffy, making it perfect for a date night or a relaxed but special evening out. I'd absolutely go back.
My friends & I came here last week & we had a blast. From the atmosphere to the quality everything was top tier. Really recommend for a night out or for a date. Affordable price & amazing food & cocktails.
The food & the vibes were immaculate. Every roll was super fresh & flavorful, & the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'd recommend for a night out with the girls or a date.
Motto Hand Roll is that spot. The whole experience hits every sense - the high-end diffuser scent when you walk in, the stunning bar-style setup, the textures & flavours that are honestly next level, & décor that feels sleek & sexy. The hospitality ties it all together in such an effortless way.
It's the ideal place for a date night or a business dinner when you want to impress. Elevated, intimate, & unforgettable.
Would 10/10 recommend. Already planning my next visit.
Such an incredible dining experience! Motto truly lives up to the hype. The space is beautiful, with an atmosphere that feels both comfortable & effortlessly elegant. Every member of the staff is attentive & genuinely welcoming.
The chefs are extraordinary, each dish shows an impressive level of care & craftsmanship. The tuna is exceptional, & everything tastes incredibly fresh.
The cocktails are also phenomenal & pair perfectly with the menu.
I highly recommend Motto for a date night or any occasion when you want a truly memorable evening. An easy 10/10!
