Mauvaise expérience vécue à l'heure du lunch. Le service fut vraiment lent & nous avons été mal servis par un serveur arrogant. J'ai dû partir avec mon plat dans un sac pour apportez.

The service was time-to-time kind of questionable compares to other fine dining restaurants. Though, the atmosphere was overall great. On the other hand, the foods that I ordered (Seafood Bouillabaisse, Duck Confit, & passion fruit pavlov) were not that outstanding (i.e., there wasn't any WOW factor).

I had dinner with a friend at this restaurant last week. I had one of the best meals of my life! Everything was perfect : the food, the service & the wine.

J'avais hâte d'essayer ce restaurant parce que beaucoup de gens m'ont en parlé mais je vais avouer que j'ai été decue: ils font ce que beaucoup d'autres brasseries françaises a Montreal font, mais en moins bon. Je pense que c'est bien pour des touristes qui viennent manger dans le vieux mais les locaux ont accès a des restaurants similaires avec une meilleure maîtrise de l'exécution . L'os à moelle n'etait pas bien assaisonné & j'ai demandé une bavette médium saignante & même après l'avoir renvoyé en cuisine pour une meilleure cuisson, c'etait pareil: le serveur a été très gentil & s'est assuré que la cuisson était bonne & je lui ai répondu qu'il manquait encore de cuisson mais je ne voulait pas retourner mon plat une troisième fois: la personne qui m'accompagnait etait prete pour son dessert. Oh & erreur sur ma facture: verifiez vos factures avant de payer, j'avais un verre de vin en plus qui m'a été chargé. Dommage, tellement de potentiel dans ce beau décor.

I have never had such an arrogant waiter in my life, he clearly hates his job. It's unfortunate to come to a high end restaurant & receive such terrible service. The food was good, small portions, fine dining type of idea, except for this price there is way better fine dining in Montreal. Pretty big restaurant so I question if everything is fresh. Other reviewer expressed a bartender licking a spoon & making drinks many times, if its true, that is pretty insane for a restaurant like yours. Hopefully you put in place a hygiene standard for your staff.

Deuxième fois au Monarque. Dans de ce niveau de qualité on ne devrait pas surveiller méticuleusement les factures... On m'a quand même changé le stationnement bien qu'on a étampé mon billet... effrontés de perdre un client pour 12$

A lovely place. Very warm, relax & cosy restaurant with positive vibes & very nice professional service. Food & menus been very well thought & carefully crafted. However some taste & ingredients were not working for me. Middle course/warm starter, uni (sea urchin) was delicious. Sea bass perfectly cooked but the chilli sauce was not exactly matching. Not sure of the big sized anchovies on a tartare either (cold starter). Will try the bistro side next time.

The food was top notch, so flavourful & presented so well. The char on the octopus was perfect. The rouille on the bread for the bouillabaisse was a nice touch. The lamb rump was so tender, as was expected. Our server was kind, & the maître d came to check on us even in the busy lunch hour. Everything you'd expect from a 5-star restaurant!

Great experience 1- The food: A lot of work, care & creativity in each plate. Everything is an enchanting discovery. We could not find a single flaw. Even the espresso at the end was perfect, not acidic nor bitter. One can feel that nothing is left to chance. 2- The service: Amazingly efficient, professional & friendly, from the moment you arrive at the door until you are ready to leave. If you pay attention, you will see quite a lot of staff very busy around you, & you wonder how do they do it? I could not help but compare this organization to a swiss watch; numerous top quality elements running discretely in perfect unity within a beautiful casing. This restaurant is obviously run by passionate people. They could not reach this level of perfection if they were not. 3- The ambiance: The place is beautiful with this brasserie vibe that is so charming. Although the place was full, we could still have a normal conversation without having to yell. Thank you all really; we are sooo willing to come back!

Magnifique! Toujours un plaisir partagé de passer une soirée au Monarque. Les classiques sont impeccables: sublimes cocktails en apéro, canard, poisson du jour, dessert accompagné d'excellent vin juste wow!! Avec un service hors pair, courtois digne de grandes tables Monarque reste parmi les meilleures tables à Montréal!

Première fois là bouffe était excellente, 2ieme fois moins . La bouillabaise goûtait l'iode, l'entrée de pieuvre au cury mal équilibrée à mon goût ( trop surette) la bavette de mon ami était bien. Un barman sur 2 était amical
