Pretentious attitudes, bordering on rude. Slow service. Took a while just to get a menu. Cocktails not that exciting. Was served drinks with no cocktail napkin, no water. The vibe of the space itself is cool, fun DJ, but it didn't make up for the bad energy from the staff who all seemed to not be getting along amongst themselves. If you've been there too long without spending they will ask you to pay your tab & leave. Seems to prioritize young women. Trying to be a night club but it's just a small bar with food. Could be better in so many ways. Skip.
Mona Loa is Montreal's newest hidden gem. The cavernesque, intimate atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night. The staff is outstanding-warm, attentive, & clearly passionate about what they do. The cocktails are exceptional, with the standout being the Habibi, hand-delivered by the owner himself. The music, the vibe, & the energy make this speakeasy the city's new hot spot. A must-visit.

Speakeasy incroyable à Montréal. Un lieu insolite avec des cocktails recherchés préparés par un vrai mixologue. Un must si vous voulez sortir sur Crescent !
Superbe experience au Mona Loa. Le lieu est atypique & très beau, on se croirait hors de la ville. Cocktails originaux & travaillés, je conseille fortement cet endroit à Montreal !

Décor magnifique, bonne musique, bonne ambiance, mais tout le reste est au mieux décevant.
Tout d'abord, nous n'avons pas eu accès à une grande partie du menu, apparemment à cause d'un manque d'ingrédients. De toute la carte, il n'y avait que 5 choix de plats disponibles : 3 entrées (edamame, calamar frit, crevette tempura) & 2 plats principaux (makis, filet mignon). & même là, certains ingrédients manquaient dans l'assiette. Les plats étaient délicieux, mais les prix étaient dérisoire pour les portions proposées. Certaines entrées coûtaient autant voir plus que les plats principaux. & 26$ pour 5 crevettes tempuras, c'est bien trop cher. Aussi, un grand verre de vin nous a coûté 15$, alors qu'un cocktail sans alcool nous a coûté 14$, un peu étrange.
Le service laissait à désirer. Nos ustensiles & nos verres étaient sales, c'est une chance que tous les plats que nous avons commandés se mangeaient avec les mains. Notre serveuse connaissait à peine le menu malgré le nombre réduit de plats. Elle nous a affirmé que l'entrée de crevettes tempuras comprenait 10 crevettes, alors que nous n'en avons reçu que 5. Il était aussi évident qu'elle ne connaissait que très peu les vins & les cocktails du menu. & elle a fait une erreur sur notre facture.
En bref, nous sommes restés sur notre faim & nous sommes sortis très déçus de notre expérience. Une révision des prix, du menu & de la formation des employés serait à prévoir.
