Mona Loa Is The Vibe in Montreal
Mona Loa is easily one of Montreal's best newer bars & honestly, the definition of a vibe. From the moment you walk in, the ambience hits you-warm lighting, stylish dรฉcor, & a laid-back energy that still feels elevated. It's the kind of spot that feels intentionally designed but never pretentious.
The food & drinks are on point, too. Cocktails are crafted with real care, balanced & flavourful without trying too hard. The food menu surprised me in the best way-fresh, well-seasoned, & way better than what you'd expect from a typical bar. You can tell they actually put in the effort.
Whether you're pulling up for a casual night out or looking for a place that feels a bit more curated, Mona Loa delivers. Great vibe, great ambience, great food & drinks. Definitely worth adding to your Montreal rotation.

Meilleur endroit ever! J'ai cรฉlรฉbrรฉ mon anniversaire en espรฉrant que tout allait bien se passer. L'entrรฉe, les cocktails, le service, tout รฉtait juste parfait. Je remercie au staff du bon service qu'ils ont offert depuis qu'on est arrivรฉ. Je recommande cette place ร tout le monde & je reviendrai for sure!

-Les rรฉservations ne sont pas respectรฉes tu dois quand mรชme attendre plus de 40min avant de rentrer & nous n'avons pas pu manger car la cuisine est fermรฉe.
-La place est trรจs petite.
-Le prix est quand mรชme assez รฉlevรฉ pour des cocktails qui ne sont pas trรจs bons, mรชme les shots sont cher.
- Le DJ ce samedi n'รฉtait pas bon du tout on dirait qu'il avait pris un mixte de YouTube & qu'il l'a fait jouer toute la soirรฉe.
- Ambiance trรจs boff/weird ร cause des serveurs & le type de clientรจle style influenceur.

A really amazing experience for some birthday drinks & sushi. I would recommend this place simply for their adorable bird cocktail glasses but everything from the drinks to the food to Diana's excellent service was top tier.

Elle nous a recommandรฉ le tataki de thon ainsi que le plateau ร partager, deux excellents choix. Elle nous a รฉgalement fait dรฉcouvrir un cocktail appelรฉ Habibi, qui n'est mรชme pas encore sur la carte, & qui รฉtait tout simplement dรฉlicieux.

You won't get a table!!!
We had reservations for 3 at 9pm on a Saturday. First they made us wait in a table outside. Then we waited at the bar for 1h when we eventually figured we were not going to get a table because of the lack of organisation. The vibe, music & food is okay here. The service I wouldn't say as much. The owner was kind enough to offer us something to drink. It was shots & we didn't feel like drinking shots so we asked for'cocktails' instead, which were the shots with pineapple juice. I found that to be very cheap considering the prices on the menu. Overall me & my friends were disappointed with our experience here.

Pretentious attitudes, bordering on rude. Slow service. Took a while just to get a menu. Cocktails not that exciting. Was served drinks with no cocktail napkin, no water. The vibe of the space itself is cool, fun DJ, but it didn't make up for the bad energy from the staff who all seemed to not be getting along amongst themselves. If you've been there too long without spending they will ask you to pay your tab & leave. Seems to prioritize young women. Trying to be a night club but it's just a small bar with food. Could be better in so many ways. Skip.

Mona Loa is Montreal's newest hidden gem. The cavernesque, intimate atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night. The staff is outstanding-warm, attentive, & clearly passionate about what they do. The cocktails are exceptional, with the standout being the Habibi, hand-delivered by the owner himself. The music, the vibe, & the energy make this speakeasy the city's new hot spot. A must-visit.

Dรฉcor magnifique, bonne musique, bonne ambiance, mais tout le reste est au mieux dรฉcevant.
Tout d'abord, nous n'avons pas eu accรจs ร une grande partie du menu, apparemment ร cause d'un manque d'ingrรฉdients. De toute la carte, il n'y avait que 5 choix de plats disponibles : 3 entrรฉes (edamame, calamar frit, crevette tempura) & 2 plats principaux (makis, filet mignon). & mรชme lร , certains ingrรฉdients manquaient dans l'assiette. Les plats รฉtaient dรฉlicieux, mais les prix รฉtaient dรฉrisoire pour les portions proposรฉes. Certaines entrรฉes coรปtaient autant voir plus que les plats principaux. & 26$ pour 5 crevettes tempuras, c'est bien trop cher. Aussi, un grand verre de vin nous a coรปtรฉ 15$, alors qu'un cocktail sans alcool nous a coรปtรฉ 14$, un peu รฉtrange.
Le service laissait ร dรฉsirer. Nos ustensiles & nos verres รฉtaient sales, c'est une chance que tous les plats que nous avons commandรฉs se mangeaient avec les mains. Notre serveuse connaissait ร peine le menu malgrรฉ le nombre rรฉduit de plats. Elle nous a affirmรฉ que l'entrรฉe de crevettes tempuras comprenait 10 crevettes, alors que nous n'en avons reรงu que 5.ย Il รฉtait aussi รฉvident qu'elle ne connaissait que trรจs peu les vins & les cocktails du menu. & elle a fait une erreur sur notre facture.
En bref, nous sommes restรฉs sur notre faim & nous sommes sortis trรจs dรฉรงus de notre expรฉrience. Une rรฉvision des prix, du menu & de la formation des employรฉs serait ร prรฉvoir.
