Got the $50 deal with soup or salad, steak & fries, & a dessert. Wife liked the salad, I liked the carrot/turnip soup , steaks cooked perfectly & fries were great. Curious about their poutine…
Walked into the place off the street & was greeted by our server. Right from the start he made us feel like it was a choir or service us. Didn't like when we said we didn't like the wine & asked for an alternative which he reluctantly provided. Ordered the food which was extremely good, when presented with the bill we were charged for their premium steak which we didn't ask for. He was quite rude & said he would charge us for one of the original steaks. His comments were you ate it so you should pay. But anyway food was great service not so.
it was okay & that's all. food was ok service was meh, the boeuf tartare clearly not very fresh since they put so much toppings, plus you HAVE to grab a drink for each 12 1$ oysters you have. i don't like having sugar & mostly only drink water. even tho we grabbed food, had to order drinks to have the oysters. if you know anything about food & restauration, you know this is a tourist scam mid restaurant. wouldn't pay to eat here again. fries were delicious tho, tasted just like mcdonald's lol
We are in the Negroni Bar (same menu as restaurant). Food, wine & service were all excellent. Wine list is great. We had the olives, salmon tartare & mignon burger - all were excellent. Service was exceptional - a very interpersonal experience. Relaxed & very personal vibe in the lounge - highly recommended.
Great mignon steak, very soft & tender, great sauce, surprisingly the fries were much better then I thought. Very flavourful. The machine & cheese is very nice to try. Would recommend to come with a group. The basement is the Negroni lounge. Very comfortable seating, nice atmosphere 👌 no photo of the steak cause it's too good to leave anything left 😀 ordered a martini too. Very nicely done.
We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday here, & the food, server, & ambiance did not disappoint. We were seated in the lower level which had a dim-lighting, cozy vibe. We ordered the table d'hôte which included soup/salad, steak & fries, & dessert. Absolutely delicious & worth it! Our server Antoine was attentive & regularly checked in with us. A good place to check out & eat in Old Montreal.
Absolutely amazing time at this place. Our waiter was lively & informative, the atmosphere was welcoming but not boring, & the food was delicious.
The sweet potato soup is definitely on my top 5 list of best soups. Real cream was used, & that's a sign of a good soup.
The cream puff for dessert was was like creamy air covered in decadent chocolate. Worth the table d'hote just for this.
Now for the one negative thing I have to say about here. While my steak was cooked to perfection & flavourful, I am not used to having McCain style fries with a higher end steak frites. Especially in Montreal of all places, you would expect fresh fries? But maybe that's just me.
Worth a visit, & I will definitely go back. Especially after trying my friend's rack of lamb.
