My husband & I popped into Mignon (in Vieux Montreal) on a cold evening just by chance. We sat at the bar & were welcomed warmly by Pablo who mixed up some stellar cocktails. I would highly recommend stopping by for a bevvies.
The steak frites special was quite good as well as the cocktails. I recommend their lychee martini. The moules frites were also quite nice & fresh. However, service was a little slow & could've been a little bit more attentive & friendly. We had to ask for multiple things that were still forgotten (the usual bread that comes with the meal, knives etc). It is to note that food took quite long & we were served well after lots of tables. That being said, restaurants can have slower nights. The interior is lovely, but being by the door will have you very cold during the winter as it opens frequently. I would still give them another visit in the future. The steak was enjoyable but do note the portions are small for the price.
Stopped in for drinks to escape the rain & were blown away by the atmosphere, cocktails, & service. Pablo was fantastic-attentive, friendly, & made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Old Montreal.
We were looking for a place to feel like home & hit the jackpot. It appeared most folks dining were locals. We were in the mood for a burger & the food did not disappoint. The cocktails were on point & the service could not have been better. We knew we were at home when the bartender came & sat beside us to share a shot & talk for 5 minutes. This will be our first stop on our next trip.
We came in off the street for some apps & drinks before heading elsewhere for dinner, so we didn't get a chance to try their steak (which is their signature) so please keep that in mind with this review.
Our review: The cocktails were good, the oysters were fresh, & it is a very cute place, with nice interiors & a cozy vibe. Why only three stars? The service wasn't great. It wasn't busy or anything but our server seemed to forget about us. We would go back though to try the steak because the other reviews seem to say good things!

Unreal! Music & atmosphere is to die for. Service was fantastic. Food was literally the best - I have a new favourite poutine in Montreal! The gravy is supreme. Steak was undercooked but correct immediately. Cocktails are top notch & make me want to be young again. 10/10 bravo bravo bravo
The espresso martini was the best we ever had. Outstanding cocktails & service. Wine expert was someone to remember! Extremely passionate & knowledgeable about their craft (wine, whiskey, etc.) & dollar oysters. Delicious, affordable & fresh. Overall thank you! Highly recommend.
Jolie décor. Excéllent service, tout le staff est attentionné. Barman attentionné aussi. Très bonne nourriture. Nous avons pris les huitres en amuse-bouche. Ils sont petits, mais tendre & frais. Nous avons pris un cocktail & un Old Fashion qui étaient savoureux. En entrée, le choufleur rotie & les Mac & Cheese Mignon à l'huile de truffe était succulent !! En repas les tartares de boeuf, & tartare de saumons étaient également bons (mais que nous avons relevé avec un peu de tabasco). Les portions sont généreuses (entrée & repas). Nos verres de vins étaient température pièce, & seraient mieux servi légèrement refroidie. Le Pinot noir Français est au-delà de nos attentes ! Les autres sélections de vin rouges (un Gamay-Beaugolais, un Syrah, & un Bordeau) nous ont moins plu. En descendant à la sdb, on découvre l'aire de cuisine visible aux visiteurs. Plaisant de voir les cuisiniers à l'oeuvre confectionner de bons repas. Une belle ambience de Bistro Français & un très bon repas, nous y retournerons.
Nous avons souper semaine passée au Mignon Steak, nourriture très bonne (steak-frites, saumon & tartare) & cocktails exceptionnels ! Le service était très bien & les serveurs Joséphine & Sam très agréables. Je recommande fortement !!
La nourriture & les cocktails étaient bons. Le service était relativement rapide. La meilleure mouse au chocolat que j'ai mangé!! Le seul point négatif, le steak est arrivé froid.

Accidentally found this gem in Montreal. I was interested in Steak Frittes so decided to pay it a visit. They have oysters special from 5-7pm so we got that for a starter. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries & the signature sauce were delicious. Friendly & helpful staff & amazingly cozy & relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful music. Great selection of wines & cocktails. Loved the place. Looking forward to coming back again next time I visit Montreal. Thank you for your hospitality.
