Edit: I have gone here twice again since my original review, & the quality of their table d'hôte menu just keeps on dropping. The stake is either overcooked or undercooked, the taste is off, the portion of the soup is very small, etc. Very unfortunate as I used to really enjoy their table d'hôte menu.
Original: We came here twice during Montreal à Table. The place is very cute & perfect for a date night, I definitely recommend. Both times the food was very good. I really enjoyed their whole menu. However, both times, things were not as smooth when we first got there. The first time our table was not ready, so we had to wait past our reservation time. We were offered wine at the end of the night so we didn't feel as upset. The second time, our table was not ready again & they had to rearrange tables to make us fit (4 people). We ended up having a round table & a square table next to each other which was kind of awkward. I would not have cared if it happened once, but both times something was off. Also, we noticed that the second time our steak portion was significantly smaller than the first one. Nevertheless, we still had an overall good experience.
Really awesome restaurant with fantastic staff & service 😇😇 We started with the red wine & mocktail (Summer Spiritz) & then moved onto Burrata that was so delicious ❤?❤? So tasty! I had shrimp cocktail while my partner had the PEI mignon with fries & we loved every single bite ❤?❤? Full compliments to the chef 😇😇 We cannot wait to come back & try other items on the menu in this 10/10 restaurant :)
Mignon was a highlight of our visit to Montreal. Only in town for three days & we went there twice! Literally the best steak frites I've ever had, full stop! The tartare was outstanding, our appys: outstanding, the wine & digestifes: outstanding, the service: yup, outstanding! Our servers were knowledgeable, friendly, engaging. We have already sent friends to Mignon from Toronto, & they had to go there twice as well! In the freezing cold Montreal winter streets, Mignon glows like the warmth of the hearth… but with steak!
We had a reservation for 9:30 & were told that the kitchen closes at 10. We ordered a bit in a rush as we were waiting for 1 person to arrive. Understandable, but okay. The food was great. I ordered the table d'hôte filet mignon but they served me the sirloin instead, which is fine but that's not what I ordered. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was so good! The fries were sooo good too. I later learned it was unlimited fries but no one told us that. The mac & cheese was not seasoned, like at all. It was missing a lot of salt. Great choice of wine & cocktails. I had the negroni supreme & it was delicious. We also ordered a bottle of red wine. We asked for more bread & were told there's no more bread which was a bit odd but okay. The ambiane is awesome - great music! They were playing all my jams. My bill came to about $100 (including 20% tip) which makes sense for what I had. I am just a bit dissapointed because I truly felt rushed to order & finish. I wish they closed later. We would have ordered more if it wasn't for that. Especially on a Friday night. I never go out & I hated feeling rushed. It's the only thing. I don't think I would go back on my own. We're gonna go to l'Express next time.

Great service, very friendly, not too long, great drinks / wine. Fries are sooo good. Salad soup & dessert as well.
Appetizers ok but missing taste, except the sauces were really good.
Vegan steak did not like, tastes like vegan meat loaf from the groceries.

It's an ‘okay' spot. Probably won't go back there as often as I had hoped to at first glance.
The room looks cozy & super inviting. They've definitely done a great job redesigning it.
The service is excellent. The staff is pleasant, helpful & very courteous.
The drinks are disappointing, especially the cocktails. They're working with a ‘twist' on classics, resulting in major flops (I definitely would not recommend the dirty martini twist). What's even more concerning is that the resto doesn't have a dedicated bartender: the person making the cocktail is rushing them in between waiting tables & loading dishwashers. That's the sign of a poor cocktail right there.
The steak is definitely not ‘mignon'. It was okay, a solid 6/10. Hiding under a lake of peppercorn sauce, one struggles to get an honest taste. But that's what they're going for. Also, there's way too much fries on the plate, making you wonder if they're overcompensating for something.
Dessert was also underwhelming.
I also found the oysters gravely mispriced ($4 a pop is aggressive to claim without backing it up with quality).
Bref, an entrée, main plate & two glasses of wine should not cost as much as it did considering the quality.
So yeah - a very ‘okay' place I'm afraid.

I would have loved to give this restaurant 5 stars. Both of the 1st courses (the polenta & the charred cabbage) were amazing, as were both of the 2nd courses (the salad & the cream of broccoli soup). Equally terrific was the French bread, the fries, the wine, both desserts (the profiterole & the coffee creme brulee), & the coffee, plus service was knowledgeable & friendly. In fact, everything was 5- star & amongst the best I have ever experience., expect most unfortunately for the steak itself. I don't know whether it was the cut of meat or the manner in which it was cooked, but it was not nearly as flavourful or as tender as the steak I was served when I came to the restaurant earlier this year. Not only did I think that the steak was bad, but so did my 2 other dining companions. Perhaps it had something to do with this restaurant's participation in the Montreal a Table promotion this particular week? Given my previous experience & how wonderful everything else was, however, I will be returning to give the restaurant another chance. One last word of advice, the restaurant is fairly noisy, so you most definitely have to elevate your voice well beyond a normal conversational tone

Service was exceptional. Steak was delicious & very tender. The fries were good but somehow reminiscent of McDonalds french fries which makes me believe that they could be frozen & not fresh & I would definitely expect fresh fries from a place like this. Wine by the glass was a little too expensive at $16 a glass. All in all, food was delicious & service great but just a little pricey for my taste.

Great food & service! Really enjoy the menu concept & great wine selection. Looking forward to returning for another delicious meal!

Very nice new place - decor is perfect! One-item menu for the main course - I love the confidence! & it works, as the steaks was cooked perfectly as requested, & of course the crispy french fries were great! They have an amazing wine list - they have a Colares wine, a rare find outside Portugal - it is a little $, but unique, a must-try if you like to discover new wines! If you are looking for an orange wine, they have a delicious Gewürztraminer!! We ordered it after a classic Martini, & it was truly delightful - also a rare find! I wish they had someone at the bar that knows about wine!! The amuse bouche/appetizers they had available seemed just ok, nothing we wanted to order. I feel that they should always have the tartare as this would be the perfect start for a steak-frite-martini-wine kinda night! Overall, we had a great experience & we will for sure go back!
