We had a great experience & the food was top notch . Sebastian was great & provided great recommendations we will be back. Thanks you for the great food
We have been here a few time before with great memories of the food & service.
Sadly we will think twice before coming back after this time…
We can in & it was busy. So we expected having to wait a bit for the service. But after a good twenty minutes, the waitress finally came to take our order for drinks. There was a couple that came in after us & had their orders taken before us.
We had ordered beef & salmon tartare & escargot for entree. Main dish was steak frites. After roughly 15mins, the main dish came out so we were slightly confused. Waitress had forgotten to order the entrees. Too bad because we really like the tartare here & were excited to have it. But since we got served the main dish right away, we decided to just cancel all the entrees. As apologies, the waitress offered free cocktails.
After we finished our dish, we ordered one dessert to share which was disappointing…chocolate mouse.
When we got the bill, the waitress said she didn't charge for the drink as apology for forgetting our entrees. However, the price of the main dish was the price of the table d'hôte instead of the price of the dish on regular menu. We never ordered table d'hôte! Either way, because she didn't charge us for the drinks, the bill came out as if she did charge us for the drinks. We still gave her a 25% tip btw. That was our farewell.
The food was honestly delicious for a casual night out. We never have problems with the food & drink. Just the dessert was disappointing.
Just the fact you say you give her free drinks because you forgot to serve the entrees but then overcharged for the main dish is a complete lack of transparency & honestly.
We are saddened because we really like this place but will no longer support a business that is dishonest.
An absolute gem! The patio is beautiful, the service was wonderful, & every dish was delicious. It was a lovely experience from start to finish.
Great experience at Mignon Steak! We were warmly greeted, received good service & enjoyed delicious food & drinks. The $1.50 oysters were a great deal (happy hour) & the espresso martini was perfectly made. The atmosphere was warm, laidback & inviting. My only downside was that the food portions felt quite small for the price. Overall though, a lovely spot for date night or catching up with friends!
Had the best experience & food. Bar manager Shay is the best very welcoming & has great people skills. 10/10
I used to genuinely love Mignon. It was one of those places you return to because you know exactly what you're going to get: great food, a standout signature dish, & a sauce that made the whole thing worth it.
Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.
Over the past 3 years or so, the prices have climbed dramatically - roughly in the range of an 80+% increase- & it doesn't feel like the experience has kept pace. On top of that, the quality has slipped in the most important part: their signature dish. Not only did the portion of the meat reduced drastically but the sauce, which used to be the highlight & the reason to come back, just isn't the same anymore. It's been watered down & the recipe got tweaked in a way that removes what made it special. Sadly the quality of service has also slipped.
I get inflation. I get rising costs. But there's a point where the balance breaks, & for me, it has. Higher prices would be easier to accept if the experience was still great or even consistent - but right now it feels like paying significantly more for noticeably less.
I don't say this lightly, because I genuinely used to be a fan & a regular customer. But I can't justify coming back under these conditions.
This was our favourite spot! My husband & I would come here every month or so. We would look forward to seeing our favourite waitress. she knew us & knew my husband's allergies. The last two times we went, they told us she was on vacation & the service is not the same without her. All the staff has changed & although they were nice, the service is not what it was. I'm so disappointed. I just can't justify a 70$ table d'hôte. There are better restaurants with more professional service staff for that price. We would come here because it was not pretentious & the food was priced right. I guess we will have to find a new spot.
