Where do I begin… I came here for my birthday dinner & it was a meh experience ! We were four & the review was unanimous! First of all, it was COLD. Food wise, the french onion soup & the fries were delicious. The salad, the stake & the sauce were very disappointing. The salad dressing very basic, the steak sauce powdery & not tasty & the stake burnt. The front-of-house greeting was very cold, but the girl who served us was very nice (5/5) & listened to all our complaints & asked if she could do anything to improve our experience.
Very disappointed especially after all the good things I've heard about Mignon !
Mtl a Table - great steak & frites. Crab cake with dill sauce was delicious. Salad was excellent. Cocktails are very special & service was charming. Nice laid back vibe to this place.

The menu is great & the food was also good. The only reason it did not get 4 stars is the fact our salads where swimming in dressing & the steak frites was also floating in sauce. Hopefully, a one of issue. Otherwise, great little spot.
Nous avons essayé ce restaurant le service fut excellent. Malheureusement la nourriture n'était vraiment pas à la hauteur. La soupe & la salade de la table d'hôte était moyen, le steak moyen la sauce vraiment pas bonne. Le hamburger était bon mais la poutine ne l'était pas avec la même sauce que le steak. Nous avons été très déçu de notre souper.
Food was just so underwhelming. The steaks had the consistency of liver (as if they were first boiled in water or soaking too long), the oysters were not fresh, & the salad was meh. The fries were amazing, though. Overall, Mignon is was not worth it at these prices.
J'ai récemment dîné au "Mignon" & voici mon avis : J'ai commandé un tartare de boeuf avec salade, mais j'ai trouvé qu'il y avait trop de salade & pas assez de viande. La crème brûlée était somme toute banale, sans grande surprise. La nourriture était correcte, mais sans éclat particulier. Les autres convives de ma table avaient pris un steak de 7oz avec des frites. Ils ont également trouvé qu'il y avait trop de frites & pas assez de viande. L'addition était plutôt élevée, avec environ 100$ par convive, boissons, taxes & pourboire inclus. L'environnement du restaurant est agréable & il y a du potentiel. Cependant, pour le prix, j'attendais une meilleure qualité & des portions plus équilibrées. Je pense que ce restaurant pourrait améliorer certains aspects pour offrir une expérience plus satisfaisante à ses clients.
The bartender was lovely & made one of the strongest old-fashions I've ever had. The burger, fries, & salad were delicious especially the burger. I felt like I could eat two! We come here a lot, & it never disappoints.

Last time 4 of us had very tender skirt steak I believe. Last night(2of us) the steak was not skirt steak & very tough. I had to cut the meat into tiny pieces.
The soup leek was delicious as were the fries , salad, cauliflower. Great service.

La salade était excellente. Les frites également. Cependant nous avions demandé un steak médium & il était trop cuit & pas très tendre. Petit mot spécial pour Mélodie qui a été parfaite.
Our server was lovely, the drinks & oysters were delicious. My friends really enjoyed their steak frites. However, I ordered the asparagus salad as it is one of the only vegetarian options on the menu. & it was genuinely one of the most disappointing vegetarian dishes I've ever been served. It was essentially a pile of unseasoned, wet vegetables on a smear of hummus. It was not worth the cost. I would strongly recommend that you consider replacing your vegetarian option. An actual salad or adding back a vegetarian steak replacement for the steak frites would be much better options. I am not usually one to write feedback, but I wanted to share my opinion. Thank you.

L'odeur des poubelles à côté de la terrasse est dégoûtante! Les crevettes ne goûtaient absolument rien. Juste 2 choix de desserts super lourds. Salade aux asperges minuscule pour 22$ & aucune légume pour accompagner le plat Terre & mer... sinon le thon tataki, la tartare au saumon étaient exquis, le steak bon mais pas besoin de sauce & surtout pas autant.
I liked the steak & really enjoyed the soup. The salad was very bland, lacked flavour, the fries were too much "McDonad's fries", not good enough for a $50 meal, they should be more Parisian style, a bit more crunchy, instead they were rather soggy & lacked a lot of salt. The steak itself was really good but there was too little sauce. The dessert was really underwhelming, could barely taste the chocolate & the inside of the choux à la crème was, although creamy, not flavourful enough, we couldn't taste the vanilla or anything else for that matte
Great service, very friendly, not too long, great drinks / wine. Fries are sooo good. Salad soup & dessert as well.
Appetizers ok but missing taste, except the sauces were really good.
Vegan steak did not like, tastes like vegan meat loaf from the groceries.
Excellent! Pour les nostalgiques de l'Entrecôte St-Jean: le steak, la sauce, les frites sont pareilles! Noix de Grenoble dans la salade aussi. Sauce au chocolat sur la profiterole tout à fait authentique!

Bien satisfaits de notre souper. Le menu table d'hôte offert nous plaît. La soupe était goûteuse & la salade généreuse. Miam miam pour les frites croustillantes à notre goût. Bonne portion d'entrecôte. Pour dessert (en surplus de la table d'hôte) un délicieux & énorme chou à la crème. Service agréable. Belle atmosphère bistro. Bon choix musical. On y retourne.
I would have loved to give this restaurant 5 stars. Both of the 1st courses (the polenta & the charred cabbage) were amazing, as were both of the 2nd courses (the salad & the cream of broccoli soup). Equally terrific was the French bread, the fries, the wine, both desserts (the profiterole & the coffee creme brulee), & the coffee, plus service was knowledgeable & friendly. In fact, everything was 5- star & amongst the best I have ever experience., expect most unfortunately for the steak itself. I don't know whether it was the cut of meat or the manner in which it was cooked, but it was not nearly as flavourful or as tender as the steak I was served when I came to the restaurant earlier this year. Not only did I think that the steak was bad, but so did my 2 other dining companions. Perhaps it had something to do with this restaurant's participation in the Montreal a Table promotion this particular week? Given my previous experience & how wonderful everything else was, however, I will be returning to give the restaurant another chance. One last word of advice, the restaurant is fairly noisy, so you most definitely have to elevate your voice well beyond a normal conversational tone
The quality of the meat is not up to par. It was quite tough (medium rare). Evrything else was good: salad, soup, fries, sauce.
Didn't appreciate being told on arrival that we had to vacate the table in 1.5 hours when it clearly says 2 hours when reserving. Had to insist what had been confirmed with the waitress a few times too many times while she insisted that it was 1.5 hours; she even said that she confirmed that in her phone call yet she she had never called to confirm our reservation. Will think twice before going back.
very good meal. a bit sad that despite the name, the steak was an entrecote not a filet mignon, but it & the frites were delicious in an excellent sauce. salad & soup likewise. good attentive service except a long wait for the coffees we ordered at the end.

Très belle expérience au Steak mignon, excellent service, & la nourriture était parfaite, belle présentation pleine de saveur (salade d'asperges & homard) & bonne portion. J'y retournerai c'est certain!
