My steak was nearly cold, covered in sauce...next to a mountain of fries which you can have à volonté. Sadly, I was not quite pleased with my experience. I was looking forward to trying it out & had heard such good things about this place. Oh well, I tried it.
Food was just so underwhelming. The steaks had the consistency of liver (as if they were first boiled in water or soaking too long), the oysters were not fresh, & the salad was meh. The fries were amazing, though. Overall, Mignon is was not worth it at these prices.

J'ai récemment dîné au "Mignon" & voici mon avis : J'ai commandé un tartare de boeuf avec salade, mais j'ai trouvé qu'il y avait trop de salade & pas assez de viande. La crème brûlée était somme toute banale, sans grande surprise. La nourriture était correcte, mais sans éclat particulier. Les autres convives de ma table avaient pris un steak de 7oz avec des frites. Ils ont également trouvé qu'il y avait trop de frites & pas assez de viande. L'addition était plutôt élevée, avec environ 100$ par convive, boissons, taxes & pourboire inclus. L'environnement du restaurant est agréable & il y a du potentiel. Cependant, pour le prix, j'attendais une meilleure qualité & des portions plus équilibrées. Je pense que ce restaurant pourrait améliorer certains aspects pour offrir une expérience plus satisfaisante à ses clients.
We were looking forward to trying this place but were a tiny bit hesitant based on some of the previous reviews. I'm happy to say that the service was great. We felt like the staff was attentive & pleasant. The music was not too loud & the food arrived very quickly. We enjoyed the fries & the bread but unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers who said that the Mignon sauce had a powdery texture. It did taste good but the texture could be improved. The other thing was that my steak was burnt on the outside, initially I thought it was charred since it was smothered in sauce so I couldn't tell until I had a few pieces that it was indeed burnt. It was very bitter tasting. For the price, I did expect more in terms of quality & quantity. The steak itself was tiny. If I had to guess, it was
Rapport qualité-prix d'un attrape-touristes. Le steak est clairement de mauvaise qualité, la sauce « spéciale » goûte la farine. Il y avait plus de patates dans la guédille que de homard, & elle coûtait 18 $. Les frites sont surgelées... c'est pas sérieux. Les boissons sont trop moyennes aussi. La seule chose de décente était le pain. Ils coupent les coins ronds à chaque opportunité. Honnêtement, je leur donne 4-5 mois...
Everything was perfect. The steak was well done, the fries were excellent! Crispy, hot, salty, what more could you ask for? UNLIMITED FRIES! That's what! Oh & give the dill pickle martini cocktail, it was just what I needed after a long day. I didn't have any oysters but, the oyster special was very popular with the finance bros at the next table.
Great atmosphere & service was prompt. Cocktails were also very tasty but the price was not on par with the food. I had the table d'hote... The soup was delicious... Fries were good but the steak was chewy & the sauce had a starchy taste to it. Don't think I would return unfortunately... For the price just not worth it

Beau restaurant de quartier avec une belle atmosphère. Menu d'une page & on aime ça comme ça. Fameux pour son steak frites, oui c'est très bon, mais trop dispendieux pour cette pièce de viande. Nous avons passé un bon moment, les cocktails sont délicieux, mais côté nourriture, ça ne vaut pas le prix
We had a reservation for 9:30 & were told that the kitchen closes at 10. We ordered a bit in a rush as we were waiting for 1 person to arrive. Understandable, but okay. The food was great. I ordered the table d'hôte filet mignon but they served me the sirloin instead, which is fine but that's not what I ordered. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was so good! The fries were sooo good too. I later learned it was unlimited fries but no one told us that. The mac & cheese was not seasoned, like at all. It was missing a lot of salt. Great choice of wine & cocktails. I had the negroni supreme & it was delicious. We also ordered a bottle of red wine. We asked for more bread & were told there's no more bread which was a bit odd but okay. The ambiane is awesome - great music! They were playing all my jams. My bill came to about $100 (including 20% tip) which makes sense for what I had. I am just a bit dissapointed because I truly felt rushed to order & finish. I wish they closed later. We would have ordered more if it wasn't for that. Especially on a Friday night. I never go out & I hated feeling rushed. It's the only thing. I don't think I would go back on my own. We're gonna go to l'Express next time.
I had a great time there, the steak frites was great, the sauce also but my favourite was the mushroom soup. I also tried their version of a mac & cheese which was very tasty & their cheesecake which was not anything special. All together 5 stars the atmosphere is really cosy & the staff is welcoming. Little burgundy really is the new trendy neighbourhood.

Nice place for a date. Service was quite slow but drinks & entrees were pretty good! I have to say, the sauce on the steak could be better.. they made us wait so long for our main meal that they were cold. Next time I wouldn't ask for the famous steak & fries & would go for the beef tartare or the burge
It was our first time at Mignon, & we'll definitely return. Great little place, with a simple yet delicious menu. We both had the steak & fries & it was excellent! The meat perfectly done with a good sauce, melts in your mouth. & 1$ oysters to start! If you're looking for a warm atmosphere to enjoy excellent steak without overpriced trend, this is it.

Du menu de la table d'hôte, la crème de carotte & gingembre était délicieuse, & le steak médium-saignant tendre avec une sauce savoureuse. Les frites à volonté semble être du surgelé, comme dans bien des chaîne de restaurant. Le service à table a été très bien. Recommandé pour votre sortie souper dans ce secteur.
Le service est correcte . Mais la nourriture? Le steak ne goûte rien , la sauce qui vient avec n'est pas fameuse ! Je regrette vraiment d'avoir essayer ce restaurant
