My favorite place up north. Breads are amazing. Food menu needs a little more variety. The only thing bad to say is that when buying pastries they should put them in boxes. I bought a mix of six pastries & they are placed in a paper bag. Some of the pastries stuck to the bag & the bag became oily after a few minutes. Almost stained my car seats.
Very beautiful local bakery, fun to dine in!! Limited food options, but all of it was very fresh & delicious. Service really good. Pastries are also amazing. The only downside was the waiting time, & to make up for it, they gave each couple in our group a free loaf. Truly a gem!
Let's say the real things about this place: (+) Food is quite good & well presented. Some pastries were however too much cooked. (+) Eating outside is pleasant. (-) Service is too long (3.5 hours for table d'hôte 3 services). It was actually 4 services but our group had enough waiting for the 4th (trou normand) However we were a group of 16 people on a beautiful Saturday at noon, which makes it understandable. (-) Parking spaces are limited. Shouldn't be always the case. (--) Everything is simply too expensive (eg standard bread loaf 10$, passion fruit ice cream small pot 25$, cookies 5$ each, table d'hôte 60$, all that before tax & tip). My opinion is that the quality of the food, although good, isn't worth such a price.
This bakery is extraordinary. Seriously, nothing here is ordinary, it's all incredible. I say this based on the coffee & pastries I've had so far in 3 visits. I haven't tried any of the hot meals but they look really impressive.
I love this place. The food is exceptional & interesting. It's really a diamond in the area. Pastries are great & fresh. The food, if you sit down to eat, is great & the space outside is so lovely. Not to mention the ice cream (which is vegan!). Big fan! I wish it were open for dinner! My only criticism would be that wait times can be very long (for sit down lunch), so plan accordingly.
3 stars is average, 5 stars is exceptional Very tasty & fresh meal Very good fresh bread & pastries dine there Nice terrasse & nice service One of the best place in Laurentides area
The food & service was excellent. We had the Pizza Florence & Poulet Goobe-Trotteur & also some pastries & the ice cream. All highly recommend.
I love everything about this place! The vibes are just great; the food is delicious; the people are just all happy; finally, it's right off the petit train du nord allowing you to pick up some yummy pastries & a lemonade or iced coffee or hot chocolate or hot coffee & take a walk on the track - most perfect Sunday morning/afternoon activity.
The BEST pastries I have EVER eaten. Possibly the best food of my entire life. The croissants are like....WOAH. Dirty chai latte was the best Ive ever had. Life changing. Must go. Spend all your money here, it is worth it all. I would literally fly from Saskatoon just to eat here.
one of the best brunch experiences if you care about good ingredients, great presentation, creativity & taste. I always stop here on my way north!!! great pastries too.
I just don't understand how it's not a 5 star ⭐ place. I'll explain: our experience was beyond amazing 😍. Their food & pastries make you freeze in time you just simply don't want it to be over. I had their spiced carrots dish, definitely recommend it was an explosion of complex flavors & I still don't know how they got the consistency so perfect. Try their s'mores croissants. I can't understand some people's negative comments about service because they were very kind, we didn't have Canadian phone plan & one of their servers let us use his phone, we went there at two different times & both they were nice & professional not like typical servers in the US that bother you 15 times during your meal because they want you to leave a large tip. Prices are quite fair considering how good the food is, for example we got 2 cappuccinos, 2 huge s'mores croissants & 1 entree simply because we couldn't eat more than that & the total was CA$41 including 15% tip (about US$ 30) I'd say you pay more in the gross Starbucks for a drink full of high fructose syrup.
After sooooo many years I finally made it here! & I'm looking forward to coming back in the warmer months, to sit outside & enjoy the gardens while having a drink & a bite. It's definitely a destination for locals & tourists alike. The menu is innovative, vegetarian friendly & the best part is being able to buy amazing breads, pastries, coffee, beer & sausage to go! The staff is very attentive & professional & the interior is warm & inviting . It's a must on your culinary trip up North!
Absolutely the best!! The bread is so unique & tasty, the pastries are delicious, the brunch menu is gourmand, & the staff is friendly. Bravo for this amazing restaurant, the only thing we don't really like is when eating outside, your plate is served on some compostable plate & utensils.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting "Merci la Vie" patisserie, & I was thoroughly impressed. The first thing that catches your eye is the welcoming atmosphere & charming design of the space, which immediately makes you feel at ease. However, the true highlight is the extraordinary selection of fresh pastries & sweets they offer. I sampled several delights, including freshly baked croissants, delightful cakes, & artisanal cookies. Every bite was a true explosion of flavors, & you could sense the care & attention that goes into making these treats. The staff is courteous & helpful, ready to provide recommendations & advice. Additionally, I noticed that the patisserie uses high-quality ingredients, which undoubtedly reflects in the taste of their products. In short, "Merci la Vie" is a genuine gem for pastry enthusiasts. If you're looking for a place to treat your taste buds to exceptional sweets in a charming atmosphere, look no further. I highly recommend it & can't wait to return to savor more delights!
