The place is very beautiful, but the food was disappointing. We ordered steak & shrimp, but they had no taste. The shrimp felt like frozen ones from a supermarket, & the steak was not good. Even the mashed potatoes didn't taste nice - I didn't know it was possible to make them badly. Cannot recommend. & it was too loud.Voir plus

Méchant Boeuf never disappoints, & our latest visit was no exception! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm & inviting, setting the perfect stage for an incredible evening.
A huge shoutout to our waiter, Valter, who was unbelievably kind, knowledgeable, & professional, truly a top-tier waiter. His recommendations were spot on, his attention to detail impeccable, & his genuine passion for hospitality made our experience even more special. Service like this is rare, & Valter set the bar incredibly high.
Of course, the food was outstanding as always perfectly cooked steaks, lovely wine, & a lively yet cozy ambiance that makes Méchant Boeuf one of our favorite spots in Montreal.

We had an amazing night here celebrating my wife's 40th bday, we were very well looked after by Sarah. We ordered the beef carpaccio to start & picanha & NY striploin steak cuts for our main, everything were well made & very flavorful prepared to our liking! First, I want to thank Jerome for making our first date night in almost 3 years an extraordinary experience. I am not using "extraordinary " out of context here. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you showed us during our meal. I am so thankful. My husband & I could not have asked for a better person to serve us our meal. I want to also thank the other service staff, you were so kind to us throughout the entire meal. Second, the food was very flavorful. My husband & I left nothing on our plates. The French onion beer soup was beautiful on a cold winter night. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare) . The desserts did not disappoint us as they were just as good as the rest of the meal. I would highly recommend trying this place, & asking for Jerome. This was soooo good. As a family of 4 we shared dumplings & calamari for an entree & they were so yummy. Then we did the steak & fries & that was the best feed we have had on holidays yet. Everything about this place was incredible! Our waiter, Jerome, was so hospitable, kind, warm, & spoke excellent English! The food was delicious! We also loved having a table next to the open window with the heater turned on. I recently dined at Méchant Boeuf in Montreal & had a great experience overall. The service was outstanding, attentive, & friendly, which made our meal enjoyable. We tried the steak tartare, which had a unique kick, setting it apart from other tartares I've tasted. It was flavorful & had a nice texture. We also ordered the poutine with brisket; while the poutine was delicious, I felt the brisket could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance its flavor. The restaurant is in a great location, making it a convenient spot to enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend it & give it four stars!Voir plus
I ate at the bar two nights in a row because it was so good. The bartender customized a cocktail for me, which was nice, & kept me in club soda, which was extra nice. I had a perfectly cooked filet mignon one night, & the most outrageously good veggie burger the other night. It was a little noisy for my taste, but Fein, as a solo diner.
