Food & wine selection was great. But service was quite disappointing. They overbooked their tables, which meant there was still a group eating when we arrived (on time) for our reservation. Despite having other empty tables, they made us wait at the bar for over 20min for the table to clear. This would of been perfect acceptable, if it wasn't for the fact that the bar didn't even have enough chairs for our party of 4. Finally went came the time to settle the bill, there was an error with an item ordered at the bar & it took a lot more effort than necessary to convince our waitress to verify with the bartender. Those are all small frustrations, but overall dulled down our dining experience.View more

Our experience at Mati Greek restaurant was phenomenal! We went for a date night & were blown away by the delicious food & warm atmosphere. The shared dishes concept is perfect. We started with the Kopanisti -a rich, creamy dip paired with warm pita-followed by a savory Greek-style lamb neck with grilled shishito peppers & perfectly roasted Greek potatoes. The wine selection was excellent, & the service was impeccable. It was the best meal we had during our weekend in Montreal. Highly recommend!View more

Ok let's do Greek… & we walked in. The restaurant is very welcoming, & congratulations your washrooms are super clean, that's important. We sat at the bar & enjoyed a Greek wine, the Kir-Yanni 2022, & it was lovely. The bartender was very skilled & it was nice watching him prepare cocktails. The owner came by & asked if we wanted the lights turned up somewhat as it was quite dim, but nice so we declined. We shared the eggplant with pita, a Greek salad with delicious creamy feta, the pieuvre & lamb chops. All was very satisfactory. A nice find, thank you!View more

This restaurant is simply a WOW place to dine! We were a team of 11 last night enjoying our Christmas dinner. Each one of us was really impressed by the outstanding quality of the food & the super cool atmosphere. Service was impeccable. Chef Nima went beyond excellency to make us enjoy expertly simmered & spiced WOW lamb & masterly cooked sea bass, while making sure before, to tease our palates with delicately crafted entrées. We ate the Custard Tart to its last crust, the Baklava Ice cream to the last smear, the Yogurt with Fruit Preserve to the last spoon. Before leaving, we were graciously indulged with Metaxa 12 stars. Who can ask for more? The concept of sharing plates really fueled our conversations (the wine helped too!) & left all of us with a renewed team spirit & a feeling of solidarity that will take us back to this restaurant. This is a lovely place. It was around the corner from our hotel & we decided to give it a try. It was one of the best places we ate at in Montreal. Very cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food. The server helped us with our menu choices (it's meant to share) so we'd have enough for the table. The wine pairing was perfect. I wish I lived in Montreal so I could eat here every week.View more

We had an amazing evening at Mati. It started out when the hostess answered some of our questions while we perused the menu from the sidewalk. Manager/Maître D', Theo was incredibly welcoming & helpful as well. Our waiter, Zack was excellent, in spite of this only being his second shift. The food & wine was excellent, the service impeccable, & topping it all off, we enjoyed a shot of house made digestif with Theo. Highly recommend the lamb chops, when offered, & don't miss the baklava ice cream for dessert! We will be back!View more

On a Sunday evening we were looking for a place that is not that crowded in the old port & that has good food. We passed by Màti & we decided to try it. We discovered that this restaurant is new & they opened like 7 weeks ago. It is a Greek restaurant. The atmosphere is so great & has a glimpse of modernity & luxurious. The washrooms are so clean. The waitresses were so welcoming & know their job well. The menu has a variety of delicious Greek food options & they have a menu full of interesting cocktails & drinks. We ordered feta cheese sprinkled with sumac & drizzled with olive oil & the cheese taste was very rich & different from any feta I had before. We also ordered watermelon salad (topped with feta cheese, honey & pistachios) which was a great option. & sth looks like lasagne but I can't recall its name (u can check the picture😬) & we had a glass of a good dry red wine. After paying the bill, they offer you cute candies that symbolize the evil eye. I recommend this place especially if u love the Greek cuisine.
