I've been here a few times-usually go for the Calamari & Lamb chops. Today, we tried the Steak, & I like it. It was tender, juicy, & cooked just the way we wanted. The portion was generous too.View more

STILL ONE OF THE BEST!
I've already given Marven's a 5-star review before, but I feel the need to update it because every time I come back with my family, the experience remains just as excellent. The service is consistently great, the staff is super friendly, & even though the place gets pretty crowded at times, the atmosphere stays warm & enjoyable. Plus, parking is never a hassle you can always find a spot around the block.
Now, let's talk about the food. We had the Lamb Chops, Salmon, Steak, Chicken, & of course their signature dish the Calamari with their famous Secret Sauce. Absolutely delicious! As always, the meal starts with some bread, followed by a salad of your choice, & then your main course.
The flavors never disappoint. My family & I enjoy every visit, & it has become one of our go-to spots for a satisfying meal.
If you haven't tried Marven's yet, I highly recommend it, you won't regret it!View more

*edit: unfortunately like many other good restaurants the food has changed here. Not sure if it's new chefs but the food doesn't even taste like Greek food anymore. Feels salty & tastes like heavily doused in Montreal steak spice & other strange flavors. The pitas aren't even wrapped properly, like someone who never made a pita before. It's sad because the service staff is so nice & it's a staple in the community. Hopefully it will get better again like to used to be.
Always the the best chicken/porc souvlaki & calamari. When most restaurants are giving smaller portions, lesser quality, Marvens doesn't change their portions, freshness & flavors! The service is always great at takeout . Keep it up!
Very tasty food. Even with the higher prices it's still ok because you're getting real food!
They need to wrap their pitas with wax paper or something. It's a wet mess! One layer of wrapping is not enough for takeout. But still yummy!
Been eating here for years...Porc souvlaki pita or stick is great! Big portion, good flavour & lean but soft. Calamari is great when it's hot & crispy & the oil doesn't taste fishy... same goes for the fries. Chicken gyro is very good too. The lamb gyro needs improvement...they need to slice it a lot thinner & it should be leaner. Overall would definitely recommend.View more

Love the place for its steak & calamari. It's the best place in terms of quantity, quality, service & prices, which makes it a pearl nowadays! It feels cozy, almost like at a family dinner atmosphere, with everyone sitting close, speaking loudly, it's unpretentious, but food is served quickly & is excellent, waiters are very friendly. Expect a lineup if you go on the weekends in the evening (but totally worth the wait) & bring cash as they don't take any cards. There is an ATM machine however.View more

The service is quick & friendly. We ordered calamari, lamb chops & chicken souvlaki.
Calamari was a big portion, delicious & tender! Must get as everyone in the restaurant had a plate on their table. Lamb chops were also very good, moist & flavorful. The chicken souvlaki wasn't that great as I found it to be dry, wish I ordered the rib steak instead. Every table seemed to have gotten basket of bread but we didn't & we didn't realized until halfway through our meal.
Would come back next time we're in Montreal to try the steak & definitely back for the calamari!View more

We were for lunch but after the lunch rush! Totally recommended for the time & the food. Attn: CASH only. Food: flavors are on point, family meal flavors done right. Yes, price is high but portions are huge. We have to take some leftovers to-go. Calamari is a must but also huge so sharing among 2 or 3 friends is better. Steaks are also humongous, prepare your stomach well in advance. Sauce: traditional sweet & tomato-ey sauce on the table (see pics) are a must with calamari. Drink: Fix beer is a nice larger that would cut the greasiness from food. Vibe: small, cozy, wooden cottage vibe. Very familial & local. Super attentive waiters. Best Greek grill in Montreal, since 1973 ! We've been coming for years & never disappoints. The rib steak is truly amazing, tender & expertly grilled. It's served with sautéed mushrooms, chunky home fries, & a huge Greek salad. Honorable mentions & must-haves are also their lamb chops & abundant calamari. My family's go-to to celebrate our birthdays! Since last year we've been going go Marven's to celebrate all our birthdays. We usually get the lamb chops, calamari, & the steak plate. Holy, this place was very fast! The service was great, food came out quick. It's been a few years since I last came here -- the atmosphere is nice with the new updates. We ordered the calamari plate, the baby back ribs & the steak. The salad to start with was very filling we had the greek salad each. The steak with medium rare was cooked to perfection & the ribs were pretty good. In my opinion the rice was a bit bland & they give a lot of fries. Very filling & worth if you're looking for quantity & quality food.View more

The best Calamaris in town.
One of the best Greek restaurant, the food in very good, the service is fast.
Must look before ordering Lamb Chops. Sometimes they are nice & big, sometimes very small & not worth to order.
The steak is very good, nice, big & juicy. the only thing I do not like about this plate is the mushrooms. Mushrooms are ''sautés'', not fried & that is the way they cook the mushroom, deep fried. You just don't do that.
But I still recommend this place.
