I've been here a few times-usually go for the Calamari & Lamb chops. Today, we tried the Steak, & I like it. It was tender, juicy, & cooked just the way we wanted. The portion was generous too.View more

STILL ONE OF THE BEST!
I've already given Marven's a 5-star review before, but I feel the need to update it because every time I come back with my family, the experience remains just as excellent. The service is consistently great, the staff is super friendly, & even though the place gets pretty crowded at times, the atmosphere stays warm & enjoyable. Plus, parking is never a hassle you can always find a spot around the block.
Now, let's talk about the food. We had the Lamb Chops, Salmon, Steak, Chicken, & of course their signature dish the Calamari with their famous Secret Sauce. Absolutely delicious! As always, the meal starts with some bread, followed by a salad of your choice, & then your main course.
The flavors never disappoint. My family & I enjoy every visit, & it has become one of our go-to spots for a satisfying meal.
If you haven't tried Marven's yet, I highly recommend it, you won't regret it!View more

The service is quick & friendly. We ordered calamari, lamb chops & chicken souvlaki.
Calamari was a big portion, delicious & tender! Must get as everyone in the restaurant had a plate on their table. Lamb chops were also very good, moist & flavorful. The chicken souvlaki wasn't that great as I found it to be dry, wish I ordered the rib steak instead. Every table seemed to have gotten basket of bread but we didn't & we didn't realized until halfway through our meal.
Would come back next time we're in Montreal to try the steak & definitely back for the calamari!View more

Simply amazing!
We had the Chicken Skewers, Pork Skewers, Lamb Chops (so tender & perfectly cooked), & fried Calamari, along with all the classic sides. Everything was full of flavor & cooked just right. I think this restaurant has gone downhill. I also prefer the pre Reno woodpanel 60s vibe. Music was too loud, but that could be a personal preference. one of the waiters (not ours) was talking about personal things with other waiters using vulgar language which was pretty low class (I wouldn't mind that if it was some sort of hole in the wall greasy spoon but I'm spending a hundred bucks on dinner I want a little bit of professionalism ). The Caesar salad was pretty pathetic (maybe a 2 on 10) & they gave us the main meal a minute or two after serving the salad (which would have been an issue if we had wanted to finish the salad but in this case it wasn't). I would not recommend the loose gyro plate, i found the cut to be too thick but that can be a personal preference. The lamb chops looked good but passed on that when tzatziki was an $8 add-on. In retrospect I probably should have splurged for the lamb chops & maybe this would have given a better experience.View more

I heard that this place was so good & they did not disappoint. Enjoyed the lamb chops. So flavorful & large portions. The calamari appetizer was surprisingly good - perfectly cooked & not the usual chewy squid texture.View more

Best Greek grill in Montreal, since 1973 ! We've been coming for years & never disappoints. The rib steak is truly amazing, tender & expertly grilled. It's served with sautéed mushrooms, chunky home fries, & a huge Greek salad. Honorable mentions & must-haves are also their lamb chops & abundant calamari. Special thanks to Jimmy & Peter, for the exceptional service. This is a landmark in Montreal, & truly worth a trip to Park Extension. There may be lineups, but it's worth it. Attentive service & amazing food. The place is pretty small for how popular they are, so expect at least a 20 minute wait during peak hours. The lamb chops are flavorful & tender. Calamari is just lightly breaded & crispy & fresh. Greek salad comes with a block of feta cheese & not just feta crumbles. Highly recommend their pork gyro pita. Very large portion we had so much leftover to bring home.View more

Marven's is hands down the best Greek restaurant I've been to! Been coming from Ottawa especially to eat here for the past 30 years very consistent, staff treats us like family. Service is fast, staff very courteous & food is AMAZING! Rib steak, calamari & lamb chops are the best I've had, their house sauce is great, authentic food amazing flavours.View more

If you grew up in the Montreal area, you know Marven's & the amazing staff ALWAYS delivers on their taste & friendly service. The ONLY reason it's missing 1 star even after their renovations is because of the A/C. If you get a chance to visit Marven's, here are the basics you gotta order: Ribsteak, Lamb chops & calamari. I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so me & my wife went for a dinner on a busy Saturday night.
we heard that they have the best fresh calamari.so,first of all ,this is a frozen calamari,from China,it tasted like gum with too much salt,if I want to eat salt I can do it in my own house.
now,the best lamb chops,really?
my lamb chops were so dry & burned,I guess when its gets busy,they can't take the pressure in the kitchen.
enough said,the lesson here is clear,don't believe to what you hear,go try it for yourself.

The best Calamaris in town.
One of the best Greek restaurant, the food in very good, the service is fast.
Must look before ordering Lamb Chops. Sometimes they are nice & big, sometimes very small & not worth to order.
The steak is very good, nice, big & juicy. the only thing I do not like about this plate is the mushrooms. Mushrooms are ''sautés'', not fried & that is the way they cook the mushroom, deep fried. You just don't do that.
But I still recommend this place.
