I was reluctant to go to a 100+ restaurant with reviews of 3.9 & I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I understand now why there's poor reviews.
The food is simply nowhere near the price. Like not by a long shot.
The place is beautiful & the service is good. You're paying for the atmosphere, the view, & maybe there social aspect.
But make no mistake, you're not getting the gastronomic experience they're charging you for. & the portions are laughably small. That would be fine if it was a true gastronomic experience, but it's not.
It's the typical overly salty, lacking in depth & dimension, sub par fancy looking food that only looks good on the plate.
I'm sorry but that's the honest truth. These chefs either need to up their game or opt for a more humble enterprise cause this is just pretentiousness.
Went for usual Christmas brunch but… there was no brunch … ok… so we had lunch. Everything tasted the same, very beige. Very disappointing for the price.
Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment au Marcus. C'était notre première visite en famille & l'expérience a été très agréable.
Un merci tout particulier à notre serveuse, Daphne, pour son excellent service : souriante, courtoise & attentionnée, elle a pris le temps de s'assurer que tout était à notre goût & qu'il ne nous manquait de rien tout au long du repas.
Nous avons dégusté la tour de fruits de mer, quelques entrées, la viande en plat principal, ainsi qu'un dessert & c'était délicieux, autant pour la fraîcheur que pour la qualité & la présentation.
Nous y sommes allés un lundi soir, ce qui rendait l'ambiance particulièrement agréable puisque le restaurant n'était pas trop achalandé. Les prix sont élevés, mais pour une occasion spéciale, l'expérience en vaut la peine. Grâce à une carte-cadeau, nous avons pu nous gâter & profiter pleinement du moment.
Très très mauvaise expérience hier soir, samedi, nous etions 13 personnes (tous décus & fachés), nous nous sommes donc faite imposé le menu de groupe....

Ils vous servent 3 petite Entré a partagé de 4 à 5 personnes, 3 petite assiettes, environ 2 boucher par personne sans exageration.
Plat principal:
3 assiettes incluant UN filet mignon de meme pas 6 oz, des pates avec une portion gross comme votre poing & un mroceau de saumon grosse comme un porte feuille d'hommes.... & vous devez encore separer entre 4 & 5 personnes.... le filet mignon 1 boucher chaque... RIDICULE!!!
Dessert:
Un minuscule morceau de tarte au sucre avec du chocolat dessus pour chaque personne.
& POUR FINIR! Non pas des factures séparer... UNE facture de groupe, donc on a prit entre 1h & 1h30 a decortiqué qui à prit quoi & qui paie quoi avec en plus une imposition de 18% de tip qui est selon moi illégal.
13 personne totalement décu & faché de leur experience au Marcus.... payé aussi cher pour finir au mcdo après... terminé pour moi & ma conjointe
I have been coming to Marcus since it opened, & the service used to be consistently excellent. However, my last two visits have been very disappointing.
Last night, I came to celebrate my birthday & was extremely let down. We arrived at 9:00 p.m., & no waiter came to our table until around 9:30-9:35 p.m., not even to offer drinks. The only person who acknowledged us was Mathis, our busboy, who brought water at the beginning & was absolutely great.
After waiting about 30 minutes, we asked Mathis who our waiter was, & only then did the waiter finally come-after serving the table behind us, which had arrived after we did. It then took another 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Even after that, no one came back to take our food order.
We were originally supposed to be a party of six, but only four of us had arrived. No one asked whether the party would remain at four or if we were still waiting for others. It felt like service was delayed simply because the full party had not arrived, without any communication or acknowledgment.
We finally received our food around 10:15 p.m. We ordered the large seafood tower, caviar, & two filet mignons for two of us, while the rest of the table ordered their own entrées & main courses.
My water was not refilled even once throughout the meal.We left the dining room around 11:25 p.m. & were never offered dessert.
Afterward, we went to the lounge & sat there for about 40 minutes before anyone came to see us. By that point, it was around 12:15 a.m. I was exhausted & very disappointed .we had been there since 9:00 p.m.
Overall, it was a very poor experience, especially for a restaurant of this caliber, & particularly disappointing considering it was meant to be a birthday celebration.
Im not sure what to say about this place. We were there for an event & it was a disaster. Let me be clear that I have ran & opened several high end restaurants in montreal & ate the best spots in the city. Yes when you go to a fancy place, you expect the prices to be higher because of quality of food, the place, & the service etc...but this place takes the cake.
The prices & portions were so outrageous that I had to do double takes on the food being served. We all went to McDonalds right after to eat to get full as we had to head out on a night out of town. Bottle prices were ridiculous, the waiter sold some garbage wine'private import' which translates to you cant price match this at SAQ so I will sell you this 10$ bottle for 200$ because youre a stupid customer & of course our bill had mistakes in it where the prices in the bill were higher than what was shown on the menu. Looks nice inside but that's about all the positive I have to say.
Place is a scam.
This is all from a few days back & its incredible just remembering all the things that happened. I dont want to say too much. Lets just say, no one i know will ever set foot in this place.
Nous sommes venus souper hier soir & l'ambiance est plutôt animée voire un peu bruyante mais personnellement j'aime beaucoup même si cela reste très subjectif
Le point négatif de la soirée concerne l'attente nous avons attendu environ 40 minutes pour avoir notre table la dame blonde à l'accueil nous avait complètement oubliés heureusement sa remplaçante était très agréable & a rapidement corrigé la situation
Une fois installés le service était excellent le serveur était adorable très accueillant & attentionné j'ai particulièrement apprécié sa première question on vient pour célébrer quelque chose non simplement des parents qui ont enfin réussi à sortir un vendredi soir lol
Côté cuisine les entrées étaient succulentes mention spéciale pour le tartare de thon un vrai délice
Pour le plat principal j'ai choisi le wagyu malheureusement beaucoup trop gras à mon goût au point de ne pas pouvoir le terminer je recommande toutefois fortement les côtelettes une valeur sûre
Les desserts étaient globalement bons la tarte aux pommes était magnifique tout comme le flan en revanche le dessert au chocolat la part du milliardaire nous a déçus ganache très épaisse praliné très dense difficile même à couper
Dans l'ensemble une très belle soirée mais j'enlève une étoile pour le temps d'attente & ce dessert car pour moi la conclusion d'un repas doit toujours être la meilleure
