MARCUS Restaurant + Lounge centers its culinary identity on the freshness of locally sourced seafood and meticulously prepared grilled meats. The kitchen highlights the natural qualities of raw bar selections and prime cuts through a process that emphasizes product purity and seasonal availability. Open layouts define the spatial experience, allowing for clear views of the preparation areas where ingredients are treated with minimal intervention. Texture and temperature play critical roles in the construction of every plate presented to the table. Marine life and land proteins undergo precise cooking methods to retain their inherent moisture and character. This venue functions as a primary destination for those seeking a direct connection between regional market offerings and the finished culinary product served in a contemporary, high-volume environment.
MARCUS Restaurant + Lounge offers a sophisticated and vibrant dining atmosphere that many guests find ideal for special occasions and social gatherings. Visitors frequently praise the elegant decor, the beautiful terrace views, and the immersive experience of the chef's counter. The menu features several standout dishes, including fresh seafood, truffle pasta, and delicious desserts, often paired with an excellent selection of wines. While some diners mention the pricing as high, many appreciate the attentive service, the lively bar scene, and the overall high-end feel that makes the restaurant a notable destination in the city.
My husband & I visited for our anniversary dinner & upon arriving, immediately were treated horribly. We were sat at a table way in the back which I wasn't bothered by, but then there was an extreme lack of service or attention. It took 30 minutes for a waiter to even bring water & take our drink orders. Once we ordered appetizer & the Dover Sol for Two (special) $180 fish - we were treated entirely different standard & it felt like we had 4 different waiters/waitresses at once. The food arrived & was definitely mediocre. We have eaten at a similar restaurant in Toronto & ordered the same exact fish but there was way higher quality overall. I DO NOT recommend.
Whatever you may think of hotel dining, Marcus at 4Seasons Montreal is an exceptional & unique experience.
Drinks & food were outstanding, beautifully prepared, flavorful, & consistently excellent. Service was equally impressive: attentive, polished, & warm throughout the evening.
What really sets Marcus apart is the atmosphere. The open wall connecting the room to the outdoors, with the incredible view of the Leonard Cohen mural, creates a setting that feels uniquely Montreal & open to great views.
We celebrated our mom's 80th birthday & it was exactly the memorable evening we hoped for. Excellent food, exceptional service, & an unforgettable setting.
Do not underestimate Marcus, it is a destination in its own right.
The best spot in the city regardless the time of day. The restaurant offers gorgeous views of the terrace in summer, perfect for drinks & food. The bar is a mood, as it is located right next to it & offers a fun experience. The restaurant is very chill, for dinner/lunch/brunch you can never go wrong as the menu is just delicious. As for the lounge bar, it's such a vibe although it is very fun when it's busy just like any spot. The drinks are very well crafted, they can make you anything. The service is always impressive & they do go above & beyond for special occasions.
The chefs counter experience is really worth it, or even sitting by the kitchen as it gives you a unique experience.
The staff is the best, without them it would not be the same. They do everything for their guests, especially the managers.
We weren't staying at this hotel, but popped in for a drink before dinner & sat at the bar. The passion fruit cocktail was very good & so was the Amber beer. Service was decent. I liked the complimentary almonds & olives.
This is a busy spot, so it can be a bit loud with the talking & the music they have playing.
Overall, my experience was that the drinks here were good, but overpriced. Saying that, I will not be surprised if my wife suggests we return for another one of those passion fruit cocktails.
