Review Summary

Reviews of Maman Sady Restaurant describe a strong, authentic Persian dining experience with standout kebabs, lamb shank, koobideh, and the vaziri combo, and praise for generous portions, saffron rice, and a warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. Many diners call it among the best Iranian restaurants in Montreal, noting flavors that feel true to the cuisine and a appealing decor and vibe. At the same time, several experiences report inconsistent service, including slow, unprofessional handling, delays in getting plates or utensils, mix ups about which dish goes to whom, and occasional forgetfulness about soup or bread, even on quieter days, with some concern about pricing relative to service. Suggestions include clearer menu descriptions, more cohesive plating, and steadier staffing on busy nights. Overall, the restaurant is described as a dependable, comforting destination for Persian food, with broad praise for taste and hospitality, balanced by caveats about service consistency and value that vary by visit.

The soup was good. The koobideh was mostly fat. It was wobbly like jello. It also smelled like chicken. I will let the reader make deduction.
... & even that took them more than an hour from taking the order to serve for a party of 8.
When I complained to the waiter about the delay in service. She simply replied to my surprise:'Well, don't pay tips.' When I argued that the tip goes to her. She replied that they did not distribute the tips among their staff!

We were seated quickly after arriving but on a busy Saturday night on Valentine's day, please ensure to have enough staff to cover all your tables. We had to wait a long time to receive menus & never received water until we were almost finished eating

Despite a busy night, the food was very good. We had the koobideh & saffron chicken but it was not as hot temperature wise as I would've liked.
Consider plating the protein & the rice together so it doesn't crowd the table & can be brought out all at once.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here with our grandparents & toddler, & the experience was flawless. The staff were incredibly gracious, friendly, & considerate, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
The restaurant itself has tasteful decor & a wonderful atmosphere. It's quiet enough to have a proper conversation without shouting, & the tables are spaced far enough apart that you never feel cramped-even with a larger group.
As for the food: it was amazing & the portions were very generous. A lovely surprise was that the mains included a complimentary soup appetizer, which was delicious & a very thoughtful touch.
Beef Stew: Traditionally prepared, beautifully presented, & so flavorful.
Koobideh: This absolutely blew my mind! It was a huge hit with our toddler, too.
Shrimp Rice: Simply out of this world.
We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Yesterday I ordered for pick up half hour later when I got there still working on it. After got my food for what I ordered two skewers of koobideh two skewers of chicken & two skewers of bath & one only one tomatoes for pick up. For $166 I was hoping at least the food is good which far far away from being good the barg kabob was like eating a piece of plastic & chicken uncooked & receiving six tomatoes & small onion & parsley which was rotten onion. So is not true 20-30 for three people is like $75 for pick up now I have no idea how much to sit there & eat. Food wasn't good service was terrible & price was too high don't eat there is just too much

Tout était délicieux, de la soupe au dessert en passant par le koobideh & le Gheimenesar. 10 sur 10! À essayer absolument.

I had a great experience at Maman Sady. The place feels warm & welcoming, & the staff are super kind & attentive. The koobideh was juicy & full of flavor, the Vaziri was perfect for trying both saffron chicken & koobideh, & the Gheymeh Nesar was amazing, beautifully made & very authentic. Overall, a very comforting spot with delicious food. I'll definitely be coming back.
