Review Summary

Reviews of Maman Sady Restaurant describe a strong, authentic Persian dining experience with standout kebabs, lamb shank, koobideh, and the vaziri combo, and praise for generous portions, saffron rice, and a warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. Many diners call it among the best Iranian restaurants in Montreal, noting flavors that feel true to the cuisine and a appealing decor and vibe. At the same time, several experiences report inconsistent service, including slow, unprofessional handling, delays in getting plates or utensils, mix ups about which dish goes to whom, and occasional forgetfulness about soup or bread, even on quieter days, with some concern about pricing relative to service. Suggestions include clearer menu descriptions, more cohesive plating, and steadier staffing on busy nights. Overall, the restaurant is described as a dependable, comforting destination for Persian food, with broad praise for taste and hospitality, balanced by caveats about service consistency and value that vary by visit.

Perfect Iranian Restaurant

With due respect, this review is based solely on my first experience at this restaurant.
Unfortunately, the quality of service & the way customers were received & attended to were not satisfactory, & there were noticeable shortcomings in the way the food was served.
Considering that in many Iranian restaurants offering complimentary bread, butter, & tea is considered part of the hospitality culture, the absence of these items was notable.
Additionally, the pricing did not seem consistent with the quality & level of service provided. For example, charging $35 for Ghormeh Sabzi does not appear reasonable in my view.

I never understood the hype! I went with my family prior to their renovation, the food was below average for an authentic Iranian restaurant. The kebab was missing flavor & the joojeh seasoning was practically non-existent.

I came back a couple of months ago & it
was exactly the same. Even their Baghali Polo was flavorless, & their customer service was zero. We came on the weekend, the place was not full, & it took us 45 minutes to receive our food after ordering.

My friend & I tried the lamp shank, Barg, Kashke bademjan & sholezard. The food & the vibe were good. The waitress was really nice & welcoming but she said the main dish comes with soup but she didn't bring any (Maybe I am wrong or she just forgot). I wish they were serving Sangak instead of pita. Also I wish the Barg was less salty & more juicy. I really recommend that they put better photos on their menu & more descriptions & details as it sounds confusing for non-Iranians. I recommend this place & will try again. But I hope in my next visit they don't forget the soup.

I really like this restaurant for its wide variety of fresh Iranian dishes. Everything tastes authentic & well prepared, but the best part is definitely their appetizers 🙂

The atmosphere & the staff are great, so is the food presentation. But the quality is not the best. I ordered the torsh & it did not taste that great, it tasted like garlic, which makes no sense. The aash, though, was very very good! I tried my friend's joojeh & it too was very mediocre. The rice was also too oily.

Given the limited iranian kabob choices in montreal though, I'd still go back.

Five Stars! Finally, the best Iranian food !
Gheymeh Nesar, Lamb Shank with Baghali Polo, & Kebab were exquisite & tender. Flawless presentation & amazing desserts! A must-try!

This place is a must try. My husband & I went there for lunch & had a great experience. We went in at 3pm so we got a speedy service from Elham who did a phenomenal job in recommending dishes to try. The food was superb - I had Iranian food in Dubai but it doesn't come close to what we had here at Maman Sady. We are definitely coming back to this place.
