Malak Al Tawouk is LITERALLY MY COMFORT FOOD-I order at least once a week. We went the other day & the place was amazing, the staff was amazing, & it was super clean. I can't wait to try everything on the menu, but right now I'm a bit too obsessed with the Classique with cheese. Also my favorite fries in Montreal!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩Voir plus
I must say, a 2/3-star experience based on last night's sandwich & I'm now wondering if that's not overly generous.
Swung by last night after craving a Tawouk sandwich following a 10k run only to be utterly disappointed. I also brought a friend with who has never been before. I'm now finding myself explaining exuberant craving only to get… that.
I distinctly recall the epic bang with which this shop opened last year (I think?). Skewered marinated chicken freshly grilled, wrapped to perfection on a bed of coleslaw & crispy fries… the stuff of legends. Juicy enough for the memory to take hold deep inside your psyche & reappear as uncontrollable cravings after a miserable run. Lol
But that's not what I found last night. The juicy-tender chicken gave way, & a pre-grilled lukewarm rubbery meat took its place. The pita bread wasn't quite as fresh, & the layers of bread stacked up to make chewing more of chore than a delicious culinary experience. Midway through the sandwich, I caught myself unwrapping it to looking into its ingredients. Something definitely changed, & I felt robbed of the promise of that once-delicious memory.
The only saving grace is that the people were unmemorably courteous, & the place was clean. The sandwich is cheap enough to dull the outrage, & I guess the chances of another craving will now have to contend with this below average experience.
Very disappointed Malak Al Tawouk.
That royal title (Al Malak) needs revisiting.

Malak al Tawook - Montreal: My delivery experience was good, food arrived fresh & hot. I must say the packaging is cool "the paper is not edible" 🤣 The fries sandwich is bit dry so make sure to order it Extra Ketchup & you will enjoy it for sure. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼Voir plus
My family & I ordered the chicken tawouk sandwiches & French fries. The food was decent, but we had specifically requested that the kids' sandwiches be made without ketchup & pickles. Unfortunately, this detail was missed, & all the sandwiches included both, which we only noticed after leaving the restaurant. It would be helpful if the staff paid closer attention to special instructions. I rated the atmosphere lower due to the limited seating-no tables were available-& the space felt loud & crowded.Voir plus
The TAWOUK sandwich was so delicious, & the fries 😋Voir plus
As its name suggests, Malak Al Tawouk truly deserves to be called the King of Tawouk. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm & welcoming atmosphere that instantly transported me back to Lebanon. The food was nothing short of exceptional. The Tawouk was perfectly seasoned & grilled, resulting in juicy, tender chicken that was bursting with flavor. Every bite reminded me of the authentic Lebanese cuisine I grew up with. The accompanying sides, from the crispy fries to the creamy garlic sauce, were the perfect complement to the meal. Whether you're looking for a quick meal or a place to sit down & savor the flavors of Lebanon, Malak Al Tawouk is the place to be. I left completely satisfied & already looking forward to my next visit.Voir plus
Chicken was in large cubes & not cooked to order. Just sitting in a pile in a corner of the grill drying out while waiting for orders. Fries were not fresh. For a place that's pretty much just about Chicken & fries, this was hugely disspointing. Sandwich is cold mush. Wasn't busy. No excuse for it. This place was WAY overstaffed. What was everyone doing if not cooking food to order? Boustan (2 original locations) is miles better.Voir plus
I don't what's with all the hype about this restaurant! This is a sandwich you can make at home... Nothing special about it. Normal coleslaw, cavindish fries, ketchup & lightly seasoned chicken.. don't get me wrong it's a good sandwich but nothing special... But the value for what you pay is amay... It's a huge. Sandwich... So that was the best part about it...Voir plus
I've been twice so far & went for the Tawouk sandwich with cheese both times. The size of the sandwiches is great, the regular is quite large so you don't even need a side of fries. It's a delicious sandwich, although a bit light on the veggies in comparison to Shawarma's which I am more accustomed to. The garlic sauce heavily dominates the flavours of the wrap. This place is pretty popular so the wait times can get long. In consideration of how busy they are, seating availability can be a problem. The place is kept clean though & generally well-run.Voir plus
I was really disappointed this time. The garlic sauce wasn't tasty & seemed stale. My first visit was much better. However, the chicken & fries were delicious as always. I hope they continue to maintain that quality.Voir plus
Let me lay it as is , I'm 48 years old grew up with these sandwiches, it's close but not there, like Lebanon. Burger is good, taouk is cold & dry, it was left for too long on the grille, probably cooked in advance as you see in the pic & piled up to keep up with the rush. Soujouk is not edible , has nothing to do with Soujouk, French fries sandwich is ok, but not enough French fries in the sandwich , liver was not bad , I would have left a 3 star but bash is a friend . I left a 4 star. Quality of food needs to be worked on. This is not the Malek Al Taouk we know. Yes, I lay it as is, even if it's a friend's place... sorry Bash. I know you take pride in your restaurants . This needs work.Voir plus
The fries sandwich is a guilty pleasure that reminds me of my childhood & it is amazing, I thought I was bias but my boyfriend is Canadian & he fell in love with that simple sandwich! A MUST TRY!! The special tawouk tastes just like Lebanon, full of flavour super well rolled. Last picture is to show how hygienic they actually are!Voir plus
The Lebanese beef burger is bigger than my face. It is made up of exclusive tasty onions, salad chou & a thick beef patty. It is served with a large portion of fries & cola, a total trio of $15. The fries paired with Lebanese Toum , the strong Lebanese flavor is here !Voir plus
Great place to eat & have a chat with your friends. The food is very & fries are perfect 👌 Friendly staff & quick & organized service.Voir plus
Okay hear me outttt It's a pretty damn good sandwich, but I have to compare it to Omnivore & both my fiancé & I agreed that Omnivore makes the best shish tawok sandwich in the region. The garlic sauce is unreal, love the fries. Staff is friendly. Overall 4.5/5!Voir plus
Great place. I wish the fries were not from costco but staff are amazing even though they are really busy all the time.Voir plus
