Review Summary

Mala Express is described as a hidden gem in the west island with hearty portions and authentic Sichuan flavors. The dan dan noodles are noted for a homemade feel, though some would like more ground meat and cucumber. The spicy wonton soup is warm and comforting, with bok choy adding a nice touch. Dishes are generously portioned, often enough for two. Spice tolerance is discussed before ordering, and although medium is sometimes too spicy for some, mild versions still deliver heat. Favorites mentioned include ganew noodles and beef soup with rice noodles. The service is described as friendly and patient, with the staff taking time to explain dishes, and the restaurant is noted as clean. Overall, Mala Express is seen as a reliable lunch spot or quick dinner option with reasonable prices and the potential to return for more.

I ordered the dan-dan noodles & spicy wonton soup through Uber Eats. The dan-dan noodles tasted homemade, like something my Asian grandmother would make. But I wish there was more of the delicious ground meat & cucumbers because I ended up with a lot of noodles. The spicy wonton Soup was mildly spicy, warm & comforting. I loved the addition of the bok choy. It was the perfect winter dish. Both dishes were big portions, enough for two people. I will definitely be ordering from this place again.

Our favorite Chinese noodles in the west island. I don't understand the negative reviews. The noodles are so tasty & food is authentic. The owner is such a sweetheart too & you can tell works very hard. A great lunch spot or quick dinner with reasonable prices. I've been here over 5 times & will keep coming back. My favorite are the ganew noodles & beef soup with rice noodles.

My husband & I, first time eating here & we were not disappointed. The server took her time explaining the dishes & food was delicious. I ordered Wanda & hubby explored with intentine soup. Just be cautious because its really'asian' when it comes to spicyness level. My husband was sweating just from medium spicy (middle level). Believe me, his tolerance for spicyness is high. I took a mild version & still tasted the heat.
Will come back for sure. A hidden gem in west island.

Really good sichuan cuisine! The wonton soup was delicious. We were asked about our spice tolerance before placing the order. I ordered the super spicy numbing soup & it did not disappoint! Cannot wait to go back & try other dishes. Also, the restaurant is very clean which I appreciate.

Food is ok. Not my cup of tea. Too much oil in the soup. I rather have less wontons with more protein filling in it than having 18 wontons that have the filling of a size of a pea.

I always order the Dan-Dan noodles with the mala Nubi wonton soup. In both cases, mild is just enough 😉

Sincèrement, cela m’a vraiment plu.
