Review Summary

Reviews portray Maison O Thé as a place with standout customer service and friendly, welcoming staff, offering bubble tea that is frequently praised for freshness, rich flavor, and chewy tapioca; many flavors are described as unique and worth trying, with some patrons declaring it among the best bubble tea spots in Montreal and enjoying the calm, pretty space and the self order touch screen. At the same time, some comments reflect concerns about the location, older loyalty policies that felt unfriendly, and past experiences of drinks that were watered down; a few voices note that quality has fluctuated over the years and request more transparent ingredient lists, though the overall experience remains highly regarded by many regulars despite prices being on the higher side.

Ordered a hot Okinawa premium black tea with tapioca pearls to go, as we wanted to drink it while taking a stroll. While the drink was excellent, its delivery medium seriously needs to be improved.

First, the drink was served extra hot, but there was no sleeve available to hold it, so we were given an extra cup. Then, it came with one of those coffee lids, with a very small opening, & a boba straw. The boba straw was too big for the opening of the lid, but we forced it in. However, as the straw was now squeezed, the tapioca pearls could not come out anymore. We then removed the lid, & had to reshape the straw for it to fit the pearls. The drink was way too hot to drink safely with a straw, so had to wait for it to cool down. It was also difficult to walk with this hot uncovered drink without spilling. To top it all off, while doing all this outside, with the lid now removed, a fly flew into the drink & died on the surface of the liquid…🤦🏻?♀? Even forgot to take a picture as we were busy dealing with this.

The drink itself was actually very tasty. The tapioca pearls were also perfectly soft & chewy. I would order the same again, if it was served in an appropriate cup…
