What an amazing find. We stumbled on this gem of a restaurant & were so happy! The decor is luscious the food is fantastic & do not miss the amazing drink options. Do not miss on ordering the Tachin with eggplant & chicken/veal.
Best Persian I've had!!View more
One of the best brunch spots in Montreal with a nostalgic Persian vibe is Café Aunja🩷From the traditional decor to the authentic Iranian flavors, it feels just like home.View more
This restaurant does have a very nice decor to it, but the food was overpriced. Rice & chicken for 40$, I know safran is expensive & its hard to make proper tahchin, but I still felt like it was a high price. Sadly I also did not enjoy my dish & my plate was dirty. The service was okay.
A bigger concern was after reading all your reviews, how I felt about visiting. Your answers to negative reviews are extremely unprofessional, which made me not want to visit this place but did so for my friends. People are allowed to express their concerns & dislikes, especially the water situation, as a huge Montreal foodie, I have never witnessed any restaurants put water on the table without the customer asking or without them being notified it is an extra charge. You need to listen to your customers, even if you don't agree, & this will lead you to having a successful business. I am giving you two stars due to this, the food & service is not the only thing you should be worrying about.View more
Lovely restaurant, with a very unexpected decor. Very homey.
Not very big so reservations recommended.
The food was excellent & quite copious. Be advised against ordering too much.
The noise level is a tad loud.View more

An Unforgettable Evening at Maison Inja Tonight, we celebrated a dear friend's birthday at Maison Inja, & the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance & elegant decor set the perfect tone for a memorable evening. I ordered the eggplant & lamb tahchin, & it was absolutely divine. The crispy, saffron-infused rice was beautifully layered with tender, flavorful lamb & melt-in-your-mouth eggplant. Every bite was rich, aromatic, & perfectly balanced-a true masterpiece of Persian cuisine. Beyond the incredible food, the service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, & genuinely made us feel welcome. They even helped ensure our birthday surprise went smoothly, adding to the joy of the evening. Maison Inja is more than just a restaurant-it's an experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in authentic Persian flavors, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be returning!View more

I had the pleasure of dining at Maison Inja with my colleagues, & we were all thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was simply amazing-warm, cozy, & welcoming, with a chic yet homey décor that made you feel right at ease. It truly felt like stepping into a beautifully designed Persian home. The food was an absolute delight. The menu was creative & unique, even for those familiar with Persian cuisine. Each dish was thoughtfully presented, with a modern touch that made us want to try everything. The flavors were incredible, showcasing a perfect balance between tradition & innovation. The service was equally impressive. The staff were kind, attentive, & always ready to help. Maison Inja is a gem that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Thank you Zahra jaan for a fantastic evening-we'll definitely be back!View more
A hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Montreal, Inja offers a unique take on Persian cuisine that's unlike anything I've encountered elsewhere in Quebec. Despite visiting during an off-hour when the restaurant was empty, the atmosphere was absolutely enchanting, thanks to its gorgeous vintage decor & thoughtfully curated music. As someone relatively new to Afghan-inspired flavors, I found the dishes to be a revelation, with intricate & deeply layered tastes that felt both unfamiliar & captivating. My meal & drink, both saffron-forward, were unexpectedly addictive, leaving me craving more with each bite & sip. One thing to note: the portions are generously sized, so come hungry! For anyone seeking a fresh & exciting culinary experience in Montreal, Inja is a must-visit.View more
Very lovely decor. Cute place with interesting things on the wall, dressers, chandeliers, etc. Very intimate. Food was very good. Definitely would recommend. The tahchin is very big & worth splitting after an appy.View more
This place was incredible! The food quality was outstanding & the staff were extremely polite & welcoming. I tried the shishlik & Adas Polo & each dish was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them. The decor was beautiful, & the cozy atmosphere made me feel completely at home. Truly, one of the best restaurants in Montreal.View more
The ambience was very warm & inviting, with beautiful decor that perfectly complemented the Persian culture. The staff were absolutely lovely-welcoming, attentive, & always ready with a smile. The starters & main dishes were great. Each dish was a delightful blend of traditional flavors with innovative twists that made every bite a discovery. Their drinks were equally delightful, with a variety of refreshing, uniquely flavored options. Overall, this restaurant exceeded all expectations, combining delicious food, excellent service, & a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!View more
The restaurant decor is beautiful & tasteful. However the food was a bit underwhelming. All the rice dishes we tried were heavily flavored with cardamom & cinnamon, making them taste more like baklava than rice. We also had to wait quite a while for the waiter to take our order, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Drinks were perfect.View more
Cute restaurant with the best food! They thought about every detail. From the decor to the chinaware & even the food presentation!!! Prices are also very reasonable for what your getting! Will definitely come back when Im in Montreal next!View more
We visited Maison Inja in downtown Montreal for a special occasion, & it was the perfect choice. The venue is absolutely stunning, with beautifully thought-out decor that makes the experience feel extra special. The owner & the wait staff were warm, attentive, & always smiling, which added a personal touch to the evening. The food was exceptional-Persian fusion with bold, delicious flavors. I tried the Lubia Polo Tachin & Eggplant & Chicken Tachin, & both dishes were outstanding. The Persian tea & dessert were the perfect way to end the meal. The attention to detail in every aspect of the experience really stood out. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great food in a charming setting. I'll definitely be going back!View more
The food was really amazing. Called with almost no notice & they found a way to accommodate us. The decor has a mid century, Iranian aesthetic that is really nostalgic. The different variations of tahchin was really great. I brought my non-Iranian friends to introduce them to Persian cuisine & they were blown away!View more
Great place! I really recommend it to try real Persian meals. Atmosphere, decor, dishes & ... are great. Being there feels like home. Thank you Maison inja. 👍View more
Truly delicious & amazing service! My colleague made tahdig a few weeks ago & I was absolutely enamoured. To be able to feel & taste that unique comfort food taste at Maison Inja was a huge highlight of our trip to Montreal. The beet bliss was also incredible! We did have the cabbage salad, that while refreshing, was not as exceptional as the other two dishes. I had the Persian Fragrance drink which was a beautiful complement to my meal. Decor & atmosphere is very beautiful!View more
Maison Inja offers a delightful dining experience with a perfect blend of delicious food, excellent service, & a charming atmosphere. The decor is elegant & cozy, with beautiful furnishings that create a warm & inviting ambiance. The Chicken Eggplant Tahchin is a standout, bursting with authentic flavors & beautifully presented. The staff are friendly & attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for authentic Iranian cuisine!View more
Nourriture perse raffinée&savoureuse. Cuisson parfaite & présentation impeccable. Superbe décor avec ambiance chaleureuse & peu bruyante. Verrerie, couverts & coutellerie magnifiques. Service courtois, attentionné & rapide. Merci encore pour cette belle découverte qui nous fait voyager 😌!!View more
The food is over-priced for the quality. The quality is okay, you would expect better with that price. The waiters are rude, specifically the guy who is responsible for sitting the guests. It is like he is doing you a favor for letting you inside the restaurant. & he is the first one you encounter when you go there. So you get an unwelcome feeling from the very first moment. The décor is very beautiful. I wish they had done a better job at hosting so we would want to come back. Plus, they should rename the "Shirazi" salad on their menu to "Greek" salad (almost). Regardless of the size of the ingredients, a Shirazi salad never comes with feta cheese.View more
Maison Inja is hands down the best Persian restaurant in town. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm hospitality & a charming atmosphere. The decor is exquisiteView more
For me is the best Persian restaurant in the Montreal area so far .While the food isn't outstanding it is still quite good, making it the top choice for Persian cuisine locally. The decor is nice & clean, & the staff are good, providing the standard level of service for this type of restaurant. I also really like their logo!View more
I recently saw this restaurant on my Instagram feed & decided to try it out. The decor & atmosphere were really charming. As soon as you walk in, it feels like a cozy nook in the middle of a bustling city. The decor, chairs, plates, & everything are super cute & picture-worthy. The staff were incredibly friendly & welcoming. As for the food, there weren't too many options, but the few items they offered were prepared with mastery. We tried the Kababi digi tahchin, which was really good & tasty. The sides that came with the food were also delicious. We also ordered the eggplant dolma, which was good but very oily, & some of the eggplant sheets were raw. Despite this, the presentation of the dishes was good. The drinks were okay-nothing out of the ordinary, but good. Price-wise, they are on the pricier side, more like beautiful fantasy type food. We ended up paying 105$ with tip for what you see in the pictures.View more
The service & atmosphere at this restaurant was absolutely top tier. The homey & cozy decor made it feel like you were at a dinner part at someone's house rather than at a restaurant. We sat in the restaurant chatting & eating for a long time, but never felt any pressure to leave from the staff even though the restaurant was quite full. The food was also fantastic, as well as the unique & flavorful drinks. I appreciate the more limited menu, because everything was obviously made with care. I will note that a few of the dishes were slightly different than the menu description when they arrived, but it's no big deal. Maybe the english translations were a bit inaccurate? But overall Maison Inja was a 5 star experience. The atmosphere was truly unique & I will be sure to come back if i'm in Montreal again.View more

View more
