Bienvenue à la Maison du Jazz Laval, le plus récent joyau de Georges Durst, consacré roi du divertissement au Québec depuis près d’un demi-siècle. Grand collectionneur d’art, il a regroupé des pièces exclusives qui évoquent l’époque glorieuse de certains de ses établissements à succès tels Les Serres du Vieux Montréal, Le Bijou et le Monte Carlo. Depuis 1980, la Maison du Jazz s’est mérité la renommée de ‘Mecque du Jazz’ au Canada puisque les plus grands noms d’ici et d’ailleurs se succèdent sur la scène qui sert aussi de tremplin à la relève.

Super soirée avec spectacle jazz. Beaucoup d'ambiance. Le decor kitsch est super réussi avec de multiples chandeliers & une boule disco qui nous mettent tout de suite à la fête. Grandes tables parfaites pour les groupes mais des sections avec des tables à 2 sont aussi disponibles. Les musiciens étaient incroyables. La nourriture était bien correcte, bonnes portions, servi chaud & de bonne qualité. Certaines tables autour de nous ont attendu longtemps avant d'être servi mais ont été compensés par un cadeau de la maison. Très belle expérience en général !Voir plus
Mauvaise surprise. J'aime bien le menu de la Maison du Jazz, mais j'y suis allé pour un anniversaire. J'AI ÉTÉ FORCÉ DE MANGER CE QUE JE NE VOULAIS & PAS PAYER 53 dollars & 10 dollars supplémentaires pour la musique plus le service & les taxes. J'avais envie de manger le TARTARE DE SAUMON. & je n'ai pas pu manger, le menu de la fête était horrible ! ATTENTION ! J'ai fêté mon anniversaire là-bas ! This was our first time at the restaurant & will defined be the last. Food was of cafeteria quality & expensive (my husband & I paid 225$ for 2 course dinners & 2 drinks). The jazz was disappointing as it was very loud & not the soft jazz you could have a nice dinner with your partner while listening to it. We had to scream to hear each other. We had a great time at The House of Jazz! The food was absolutely delicious & the cocktails were amazing - perfectly balanced & beautifully presented. Although our reservation wasn't honored as expected & we were seated upstairs in a more hidden area, the staff made it up to us with two rounds of shots, which we really appreciated.
The live show was truly impressive & full of energy, adding so much to the overall experience. That said, the space does feel a bit overwhelming - there's a lot going on visually, which can make it hard to fully relax & take it all in.
Still, the combination of great food, drinks, & music makes it a unique spot worth visiting!Voir plus
This was my first time visiting House of Jazz & it was fantastic. I went there for a birthday celebration & we all had a super time. I especially loved the groovy vibes of Michelle Sweeney & her band. Her 3 sets included a melange of all genre of music. She even threw in some Latin beats that got you on your feet. The musicians surprised us also with their solos. What great voices!!! Michelle Sweeney's performance was simply outstanding.Voir plus
Belle ambiance,beau spectacle mais bizarre du disco dans un établissement qui se dit style Jazz. Le repas était bon mais très dispendieux (200$ pour 2 + pourboires)! 75 minutes avant d'avoir enfin notre entrée sur la table. L'éclairage s'est éteint à 2 reprises sans savoir la raison. Il n'y avait pas d'éclairage d'urgence durant la panne! Suite à cet incident, je me demandais où sont les sorties de secours. A mon avis, il y a trop de table dans le restaurant. Les serveurs ont peine à circuler. En résumé, cet établissement mérite d'être visité. Car unique en son genre.Voir plus

I had high expectations for House of Jazz Laval, but unfortunately, it fell short. The food was heinous-bland, overpriced, & far from what you'd expect at a place that markets itself as an upscale jazz venue. The ambience was dull, & the jazz felt uninspired. To top it off, a $13 bottle of wine from the SAQ was priced at almost $50-an outrageous markup for such a lackluster experience. Overall, not worth the visit. There are far better spots in Laval for both dining & live music.Voir plus

Wow wow wow. Where do I even begin. This is the single best jazz club I've ever had the opportunity to go to. The place is simply fabulous & looks like it's straight out of a movie of some kind. I was greeted by the owner & an employee & they accompanied me to my reservation spot. While we were going to the second floor where u was meant to enjoy my meal, I was able to take a quick glance around me & see a panoply of well decorated spaces with specific lights creating an even more interesting & jazzy atmosphere. I never would've thought a bright gem like that one could have been hiding right there in plain sight. We had originally made a reservation for 9 people & we had requested to be put in a little room. The room will be in the videos & it was gorgeous as well. I had been there before & never even knew that it existed. The staff came regularly to ensure we were all ready to order & just to see if there was anything they could help us with. The food took an average time of 27 minutes to arrive, & I must say that it is extremely impressive that it was done so quickly seeing as we had all ordered different kinds of meals & were still served at around the same time. My meal was well plated & the tastes simply embraced my tongue like a warm & nice hug. They were gentle & agressive, offering a wide array of various sensations & flavours which all complemented one another so perfectly. I was amazed.
One thing that is important to note is the price of your entry. It was 15$ more per person because we had to pay for the band & frankly I'd have paid them much more for how good they played. Then there's also something you must look at. Just make sure you are aware that the price of the shots are marked for individual shots & not for the whole round. One of my friends hadn't picked up on that little subtlety & was quite shocked once the bill arrived. Other than that, excellent everything. I'm super glad I got to be there & enjoy myself with my friends.

We had an amazing time at House of Jazz in Laval for a group party! The atmosphere was fantastic-live music set the perfect vibe for an unforgettable night. One Love Project was hosting the musician jam night, & the talent on stage was incredible. The mix of musicians kept things fresh & exciting, making for a truly special experience.
Beyond the music, the ambiance of the venue is something else! The chandeliers & unique decor give the place a vintage, upscale feel that makes it stand out. It's a setting that feels both elegant & lively, perfect for a night out.
The food & drinks did not disappoint! Their burger was absolutely delicious, & the drinks were well-crafted & hit the spot. The service was friendly & attentive, making sure our group had everything we needed.
If you're looking for a place with great live music, a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, & fantastic food & drinks, House of Jazz is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!Voir plus

Une soirée exceptionnelle sur toute la ligne. Nous célébrions l'anniversaire de ma fille & sommes allés à la Maison du Jazz le 20 décembre 2024 au soir. Le décor est à couper le souffle. Art déco, chargé de lustres, d'ornementations & d'éléments décoratifs typiques de cette époque. Nous étions 5 & avons pris cocktails, vin, entrées & repas principal. Chacun de nous a adoré son repas qui était succulent & préparé à la perfection. Les coupes de viande étaient belles & la cuisson à point. & que dire du spectacle! Les artistes sont très généreux & présents. Leur engagement envers la foule était authentique. La chanteuse Venus Mary Grace était si belle, vêtue d'une robe de velours, marabout de plumes, chaussures satinées & gants rouges, elle était comme un rubis entouré de diamants. Elle a été d'une grande gentillesse & générosité envers nous en soulignant l'anniversaire de notre fille de manière inoubliable. Mathilde s'est sentie la reine de la soirée. Bref, c'était une première mais certainement pas une dernière. Nous recommandons cet endroit pour l'ensemble de l'oeuvre & pour vivre une expérience de choix. J'avais l'habitude d'aller à celui à Montréal pour mon anniversaire, & ce, depuis quelques années. Puisqu'il est maintenant fermé, on réserve à celui-ci. La bouffe ça va, le service, ça va, mais pour l'ambiance j'ai été terriblement déçue! Ça s'appelle la Maison du jazz, donc en allant là-bas pour mon souper d'anniversaire je m'attendais à ce genre de musique... & bien non! C'était une soirée salsa! Very disappointed with my experience. Went on the friday night to listen to good jazz music but country was playing & once the jazz band was supposed to come in, they had technical issue that took them 1h to fix... Had hair in my dessert & definitely not worth it to pay 10$/pers to hear no one play. Service was extremely slow, i had to ask for the dessert card, the bill, the machine to pay & etc. Definitely not the kind of service you expect when you spend more than 100$/pers.Voir plus

C'était ma première fois à la Maison du Jazz pour l'anniversaire d'une amie, & j'ai été très agréablement surprise. Le serveur était très aimable & a dépassé nos attentes. La chanteuse sur place était impressionnante. Nous n'avons pas mangé sur place, mais nous avons pris l'apéro, & c'était très bien. Je recommande vivement ! C'est sûr que je reviendrai, surtout lorsque Shaharah Sinclair sera de retour !Voir plus

It was my first time at House of Jazz, & I loved it. The décor is so amazing with all the chandeliers & lights. The staff were dressed in 20s-era clothes & they were so helpful & friendly. From appetizers to main dishes to drinks were all very delicious. It's pricey but worth it. Now, the musicians. They were so talented & entertaining. We sang along & danced along with them. Samedi le 9 mars 2024 Bon & bien, j'ai aimé l'ambiance entre Jazz & Blues. Le chanteur de la première partie fait mousse bien la salle avec entrain & sympa & la seconde partie avec Michelle Sweeney wow! à l'orchestre des joueurs de sax, claveriste, bass, guitariste & drummer à couper le souffle, excellet. Le tout dans un décor magnifique avec tous ces lustres. Tant qu'à la nourriture, mes raviolis étaient passablement bons, la joue de boeuf aussi mais le format un peu petit pour les hommes, hamburger au bison bof! le tout manque de générosité & de saveur... ça revient un peu cher des plats principales à partir de 26$ +++ il ne faut pas y aller pour la bouffe qui est moyenne quantité goût prix je dirais un 6 sur 10... mais pour le show ça reste un bon spectacle pas cher 15$Voir plus
If you are in Laval looking a good time with friends, you can't go wrong with The House of Jazz. Venue: Beautifully decorated place with live entertainment, while eating a a delicious meal. It gives that New Orleans vibe. Service: Waiter was polite, very attentive & took the time to explain each dish in detail. Well done! Took a little long to receive the meals but the entertainment keeps you too busy to notice. Food: Our table had the waygu dumplings, the were very good crispy on the outside & tender inside. For the main course our table had; beef cheek (super yummy), the tuna (very good) & filet mignon (good). Cost: Overall prices were very reasonable. Starter run at about $15-$25. Main course, $25-$50. Keep in mind there is a $10 charge for 2nd floor seating or $15 for 1st floor seating charge per person for the entertainment which is totally worth it, band was awesome! Conclusion: So instead of going to a simple, ordinary restaurant outing... Jazz it up a little! Fully recommend The House of JazzVoir plus
If you are in Laval & you want to have a great time with fiends, you can't go wrong with The House of Jazz. Great place to get a good meal & some super entertainment... & the decor is really awesome! Had the the beef cheek, it was tender & moist! The tuna was also very good. Instead of going to a simple restaurant...have some live music the spice up your meal.
