Bienvenue à la Maison du Jazz Laval, le plus récent joyau de Georges Durst, consacré roi du divertissement au Québec depuis près d’un demi-siècle. Grand collectionneur d’art, il a regroupé des pièces exclusives qui évoquent l’époque glorieuse de certains de ses établissements à succès tels Les Serres du Vieux Montréal, Le Bijou et le Monte Carlo. Depuis 1980, la Maison du Jazz s’est mérité la renommée de ‘Mecque du Jazz’ au Canada puisque les plus grands noms d’ici et d’ailleurs se succèdent sur la scène qui sert aussi de tremplin à la relève.

We had a great time at The House of Jazz! The food was absolutely delicious & the cocktails were amazing - perfectly balanced & beautifully presented. Although our reservation wasn't honored as expected & we were seated upstairs in a more hidden area, the staff made it up to us with two rounds of shots, which we really appreciated.
The live show was truly impressive & full of energy, adding so much to the overall experience. That said, the space does feel a bit overwhelming - there's a lot going on visually, which can make it hard to fully relax & take it all in.

This was my first time visiting House of Jazz & it was fantastic. I went there for a birthday celebration & we all had a super time. I especially loved the groovy vibes of Michelle Sweeney & her band. Her 3 sets included a melange of all genre of music. She even threw in some Latin beats that got you on your feet. I had high expectations for House of Jazz Laval, but unfortunately, it fell short. The food was heinous-bland, overpriced, & far from what you'd expect at a place that markets itself as an upscale jazz venue. The ambience was dull, & the jazz felt uninspired. To top it off, a $13 bottle of wine from the SAQ was priced at almost $50-an outrageous markup for such a lackluster experience. Overall, not worth the visit. I had a pretty good time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic-very welcoming & had a great vibe. The live band was the highlight of the evening; they played wonderfully & really set the tone for a fun experience.
However, the food didn't live up to expectations. While it wasn't bad, it was definitely just'mid' - nothing to rave about, but also nothing to really complain about. Overall, if you're looking for a good time with great music & a lively atmosphere, it's worth a visit, but don't expect the food to steal the show.Voir plus

We had an amazing time at House of Jazz in Laval for a group party! The atmosphere was fantastic-live music set the perfect vibe for an unforgettable night. One Love Project was hosting the musician jam night, & the talent on stage was incredible. The mix of musicians kept things fresh & exciting, making for a truly special experience.
Beyond the music, the ambiance of the venue is something else! The chandeliers & unique decor give the place a vintage, upscale feel that makes it stand out. It's a setting that feels both elegant & lively, perfect for a night out.
The food & drinks did not disappoint! Their burger was absolutely delicious, & the drinks were well-crafted & hit the spot. The service was friendly & attentive, making sure our group had everything we needed.

The food is not bad, would rate it 3/5 because you won't go there for the amazing food, you should go there for the ambiance, loud live band & outstanding decor. First time was in september & I was with a friend at the bar. We were served by Alex & he was adorable & often asked us if we needed anything. The food was delicious 10/10 We went again last week for a friend's birthday party & the experience was not so great. Service was slow, we waited almost 2 hours to get our food. We had to ask the server for almost everything, he rarely came to check up on us (although i get that it was busy). The final straw was the coatcheck lady being extremely rude to us on our way out. However, the place is very nice, beautiful for pictures, & the live music is very enjoyable. The artists are very talented & take requests which i find is very nice.Voir plus

We've visited this restaurant a few times & always enjoy the lively atmosphere & charming decor. The setting is perfect for a casual night out, & the live music definitely adds to the vibe. On this visit, however, the singer was a bit of a letdown compared to our previous experiences. We've had great performances in the past, but this one felt like the artist was still a novice, lacking the polish we were used to. The food was decent-not bad, but not outstanding either. One thing that stood out as odd, especially in a bilingual country, was that there were no English menus available. Overall, still a nice place to visit for the atmosphere, but we hope the music & menu options improve on our next visit.Voir plus
Very disappointed with my experience. Went on the friday night to listen to good jazz music but country was playing & once the jazz band was supposed to come in, they had technical issue that took them 1h to fix... Had hair in my dessert & definitely not worth it to pay 10$/pers to hear no one play. Service was extremely slow, i had to ask for the dessert card, the bill, the machine to pay & etc. Definitely not the kind of service you expect when you spend more than 100$/pers.Voir plus
The decor was pretty cool & there are different booths & sections with its own themes on the 2nd floor The music was just wayyy too loud I was trying to have a conversation with a friend but we could barely hear each other We had to shout & eventually we gave up & ate in silence just listening to the music The food itself was ok but for the price I was charged for? it was not anywhere near worth it! The service was also slow & they forgot to give me some items that was included with the meal & so I had to wave them back after awhile & by the time I received it I had already finished my meal. You also get charged a cover to enter & dine. This place would be a lot better if they would play some music during a certain time only or do 30min break so you can enjoy the atmosphere of the entire place & enjoy a decent meal with someone Would not recommend currently the way it is set upVoir plus

Came here to celebrate a birthday with 30-40 other people in which we all had been seated on the second floor which makes sense due to the size of the group. The food was pretty good but not the best. It's unfortunate some of our food was served somewhat on the colder side which wasn't nice. The steak was cooked well as well as the fish. The calamari was nice & crispy. The prices seem decent although a drop on the higher side especially for the fish.... Where things go a little downhill is, if a restaurant wants to have live music, please don't reflect the cost on the customers through a cover charge. I was surprised that it wasn't just put into the prices of the menu. Don't get me wrong, the music was great but just really really loud... I was seated on the second floor & i had to raise my voice to talk to people at the table.Voir plus
If you are in Laval & you want to have a great time with fiends, you can't go wrong with The House of Jazz. Great place to get a good meal & some super entertainment... & the decor is really awesome! Had the the beef cheek, it was tender & moist! The tuna was also very good. Instead of going to a simple restaurant...have some live music the spice up your meal. Returning 5 years later.... This place didn't disappoint. Food was great. Well priced alcohol menu. Service was prompt & courteous. Music was fantastic. A must try hidden gem in Laval. You find yourself just gazing at all the chandeliers & memorabilia. Definitely recommended.Voir plus

We were not that please with the music (too much country style). There was long wait for the food once ordered. We also don't like to idea of mandatory gratuity; this should be up to us to decided if & how much to tip.
Aside of the above we enjoyed the time & your venue.
What the fantastic evening with spectacle at the House of Jazz in Laval. Dano Peace & The Upwright Jazz Band were fantastic!!!! The food was exceptional & the service wonderful. The food was expensive but we are not going every day & the food is worth the price. We spent our 40th wedding anniversary with wonderful people in a wonderful restaurant with great music & very good food. In short, an unforgettable evening. Thanks Elzbieta

The service was mediocre We had to ask for bread & butter it was served without plates the wait for the food was long even though we were some of the first to arrive
& the worst was that we went there for the Jazz & there was music but no Jazz sorry we were not happy
Everything was excellent, great food, great music, the shows are excellent. Walking distance from Montmorency metro, Laval, so you don't need to wait for a bus after getting out of the metro. Excellent service. Perfect place for a birthday party.Voir plus

The food & decor were fantastic. Waiters were very attentive.
The music was WAY TOO LOUD. To the point my Apple Watch was even giving me warning of potential permanent hearing loss. We had to yell in each other's ears to converse. Which, in the end, ruined the experience.
The band was mediocre at best. The music was NOT jazz even though the singer was pushing he was doing jazz. His voice was not appropriate for the type of songs they were doing either .
We were very disappointed in the experience & left with a pounding headache.
