I found that the sushi is very expensive for basically mediocre quality sushi. They put some effort into the presentation of the sushi, & it's fresh; but the rice is dry, & the fish isn't that flavourful. Prepandemic you could get a nice chef platter of sushi for 35$ (18 pieces), post pandemic I paid about 140$ for 32 pieces of sushi. I wouldn't recommend this place. Paying premium prices for mediocre sushi. The restaurant was also super loud & packed, & it took a long time to get service.
Rice in the sushi was high quality. The sashimi was fresh & tasty. The rolls where great as well. We went for the shared chef's choice & it was 65 pieces & soup for 4 people. It was enough food but we also took some entrees, if we had not it might have not been enough.

After ordering, we waited an hour for our food. We were disappointed, as we were very much looking forward to our first experience at Maiko. The food was excellent, but the quality of the service diminished our experience.

We had not been to Maiko Sushi in quite a number of years. We had remembered it being quite good, but we were very disappointed last night. Although the food quality was indeed exceptional, & beautifully presented, everything else was pretty much a fail. The place is too noisy to carry on a proper conversation, with the back beat of the music adding to an already crowded restaurant, & the tables are placed so close together that the diners & servers could hardly pass through. In fact, our server had to interrupt taking our orders to let others pass by. Then there was the extreme tardiness of the service. It took 45 minutes for even our first courses to arrive, & about 90 minutes for the main course, by which time we were all very hungry. What truly disappointed me is that, despite the inordinate wait that at that pretty much negated how good the food itself was, no one offered anything to us to express a small token of gratitude for our patience. It though that this was very poor customer relations.
Maiko sushi is a Montreal's living culinary institution since 25 years ago. It is a family business that takes so much care to every detail in the food & the restaurant. Food variety & quality is what bring us back every time, & we leave feeling great about the quality of their service. The restaurant is more on the noisy side as it is often full, in spite of their high ceilings. Just a minor detail.

I have been calling Maiko my favourite restaurant for years, however, I don't like to admit it, but the quality of the plates, portions have descended

Best sushi in Montreal. Quality is the best & service always fantastic!!! Worth every dollar!
It was a great "à la carte" sushi restaurant in West Island. Very nice decor & modern restaurant, the staff was pleasant & attended to our every needs. The sushis were great, the huge platter with different types was excellent. However, the sashimi was not very fresh that day, I hope next time I come back that it will be better. It is towards high-end sushi ($$$$) but the quality is above average.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Miko Sushi in Montreal, & it was truly a remarkable experience. My cousin, who is a local, recommended this gem, & I must say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance of Miko Sushi set the stage for an unforgettable evening. The sleek & modern décor, coupled with the subtle Japanese-inspired elements, created a welcoming & sophisticated atmosphere. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Miko Sushi delivered an extraordinary culinary journey that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The freshness & quality of the ingredients were apparent in every bite. From the melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to the intricately crafted rolls, each dish showcased the chef's expertise & dedication to perfection. The menu offered a delightful variety, appealing to both sushi enthusiasts & those looking to explore new flavors. The service at Miko Sushi was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations & ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was enjoyable. The attention to detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the timing of each course, added to the overall sense of refinement. While Miko Sushi undoubtedly stands out as a high-end sushi establishment, it's worth noting that the prices reflect the quality of the ingredients & the skill involved in crafting each dish. While on the higher end, the dining experience at Miko Sushi is undoubtedly worth the investment for a special occasion or when craving an exceptional sushi experience. In conclusion, Miko Sushi in Montreal is a culinary haven for sushi enthusiasts & anyone seeking an elevated dining experience. The delicious food, excellent service, & sophisticated ambiance make it a standout choice, even with the slightly higher price point. I highly recommend Miko Sushi for a memorable & indulgent dining experience in the heart of Montreal.
Top top quality sushi. Not your average good sushi. Real lobster, real crab. Best fish imported from Japan. We had this cold sake that you won't find anywhere & it just blew our minds. No doubt it is expensive but if you eat here you understand why.

The quality & freshness of the food was exceptional, the waiters were very knowlegable & helpful, our only reservation was the delay in getting our order.

Maiko always delivers! On quality, freshness, service & ambiance. My favourite !

A favorite in the community lucky to have them close to home . Top quality & amazing service

Always A1 quality & amazing staff!!!
Best sushi restaurant in Quebec♥️

There is no other review for Maiko Sushi than to award it 5 stars each & every time I go. No matter when, the quality of the food & the service is always consistent & unmatched. Even with 3 younger kids (not behaving as they should), they were understanding & accommodating. Ms. Maiko, thank you for being the one restaurant I am excited to visit every. single. time.

It is the best sushi in town. They know how to keep the quality of their sushi over the years
