Un projet de l'équipe derrière la Pizzeria Magpie au feu de bois, Magpie Magique s'éloigne entièrement de ce concept avec une entrée de style speakeasy à lumière rouge qui mène à un endroit chic. Ce bar pseudo-caché se spécialise dans les cocktails classiques complétés par un menu de plats à partager composé de mezze, de fruits de mer grillés en brochettes et de pizzas provenant de l'avant. Il offre une expérience anonyme, sophistiquée et unique qui inclura de la musique live et d'autres performances. Il va sans dire que vous pouvez y manger un morceau tard le soir, accompagné d'une bonne boisson forte.
Dans l'ensemble, Magpie Magique se présente comme un speakeasy intime et chaleureux avec une ambiance jazz en live et un programme de cocktails remarquable, où l'atmosphère et un service attentif brillent pour de nombreux convives, même si certaines expériences signalent un service quelque peu dispersé, des attentes longues ou des places près de la scène qui nuisent au spectacle. La nourriture suscite des avis mitigés, certains louant un menu dégustation bien équilibré et des saveurs fraîches, comme le tartare de saumon et les joues de bœuf, tandis que d'autres trouvent les portions ou le foie gras un peu insuffisants par rapport au prix. L'expérience est souvent enrichie par des touches personnelles des chefs et par une ambiance cosy avec des canapés et un bar animé, et plusieurs critiques apprécient le décor et la possibilité de s'installer confortablement, bien que certaines soirées la foule proche de la scène et les retards puissent altérer l'impression. We enjoyed Dimitri's attention & service the other night, made our night so enjoyable ! The place is hidden behind the door & you walk a narrow hall to a nicely decorated room. The menu is small (for snacking mainly) but the cocktail menu was intriguing & innovative. We both enjoyed our drinks ! This place is great for date night or a 5@7 with friends or coworkers.
The intimate, laid-back atmosphere, burlesque-style décor, soft jazzy music, & excellent, reasonably priced cocktail menu make it the perfect setting for a date night. We ordered several cocktails & a mocktail, all of which were delicious & expertly prepared. They also serve a variety of wines & beers. If you happen to feel a little peckish, they've got you covered with a food menu to enjoy with their extensive list of beverages. Classic bar munchies like olives, nuts, & popcorn, as well as some incredible dips of either goat cheese, eggplant, or hummus. We especially enjoyed the goat cheese dip. They also offer larger dishes like pizza, a sandwich, & beef tartare. With a great central location & wonderful service, we will most definitely return on an actual date to enjoy this lovely speakeasy.

It was a great visit, the staff are very friendly. You get one of the best service in Montreal. The food was great, & the cocktails delicious. Highly recommended.
Nice cocktails in a cool atmosphere. In this case, Magpie probably refers to the disorganized mishmash of unrelated decorations spread over the place, as the word could be defined as "a person who collects things, especially things of little use or value". But it's a fun speakeasy experience, with a great vibe & a cool secret entrance on Gilford. Unfortunately, they seemed understaffed that night & so the service was slow, but friendly. The Gins'N Roses cocktail was the nicest I've tried there so far. Apparently, at happy hour the cocktails are only $10, the pizza is $17, & they sometimes have live music.
Le bar est vraiment magnifique! J'y suis allé avec ma petite amie, elle a été conquise ! Vraiment le cadre est parfait pour un petit date ou pour une soirée entre amis, les cocktails sont excellents & les personnes qui y travaillent sont des amours! On y retournera c'est certain !
Superbe endroit ! L'ambiance est tamisée, je recommande chacun des cocktails & le personnel est vraiment agréable. L'emplacement est vraiment original & presque secret.
Un lieu magique à la minute ou tu ouvres la porte. Notre serveur Dimitri nous fais vivre une expérience incroyable. Les cocktails sont préparés avec beaucoup de soins , une expérience à revivre . Vous devez absolument rentrer par Gilford pour être transporté dans un lieu magique.

Excellent bar à cocktails ! Vraiment idéal pour un date ou une occasion spéciale. Les cocktails ainsi que la nourriture sont absolument délicieux ! Le service est également incroyable. Notre serveur Dimitri était très attentif ! Je reviendrai sûrement prochainement pour mz fête !
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this place & I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting & stylish, with a perfect blend of modern chic & cozy comfort. The dim lighting, plush seating, & tasteful decor set the stage for a fantastic evening. The cocktail menu is nothing short of impressive. Each drink is crafted with precision & creativity, showcasing a balance of classic favorites & innovative concoctions. What truly sets this bar apart is its incredible selection of appetizers too.
Highly recommend! Delicious cocktails with cool decor. Service was excellent & great spot for a date night or night out with friends. Find the door with the red light on top 🚨
I found out about Magpie Magique through TikTok & IG videos on my feed & I was pleasantly surprised with my experience! My girlfriend & I thought we'd only come here for cocktails (which were great) but the food was AMAZING! My favourite was the cheese dip & their pizza. We would come back again for dinner & drinks. The atmosphere & the service were impeccable & we highly recommend it!
I had a fantastic experience here last night. Dimitri was our server & he took exceptional care of us. I tried two of their cocktails, one absinthe & gin from their specialty cocktails (delicious, a great recommendation from Dimitri) followed by their Sazerac which was very smooth, probably the highlight of my night. They have a front & back entrance, the back is only really marked by a red light & writing on a door but it is where Google maps directs you. If I was in Montreal for longer, I would make a point to visit again.
Bar assez tranquille. L'entrée est une porte secrète. Les cocktails sont bons ainsi que les « entrées ». On ne peut pas vraiment manger un repas sur place hormis la pizza. Bon endroit si vous voulez passer une soirée tranquille entre amis ou en couple. Si vous cherchez plutôt une ambiance festive comme un club, ce n'est pas l'endroit.
This is a gem of a place (but I have a huge soft spot for speakeasy's). The entrance to Magpie says is all...a non-descript steel fire door on Gilford (although you can access it via St. Denis) with a scripted not "Livraison" painted on it & a red light over time...it literally screams "SPEAKEASY". Inside the retro red-light turn of the century décor is a relaxed environment where you go to chill with friends enjoying cocktails & small tapas style dishes. The ambiance is definitely in keeping with the theme. Like all speakeasy's in town, then offer a cocktail menu supported by additional inspirations. Normally I choose a Negroni but on the night of our visit they also offered a Green Negroni (using absinthe in some way). They also offer mocktails. While we didn't have an eats we did see a table adjacent order Hummus & Naan (the positive murmurs were audible). Definitely worth a visit just for the fun of it. Enjoy!
Recently visited Magpie Magique for a datenight & loved it. The decor & ambiance are great! We sat at the bar so we got to see the drinks being made & conversed with the bar manager. We enjoyed our drinks, highly recommend their pisco sour & old fashioned! The food was really good too. Get the truffle honey popcorn, pizza of the moment & the mouhamara. We'll definitely be back to try more cocktails!
