But attention was great & the atmosphere of the place is very intimate & special. It might be better just to go for drinks (cocktails, not wines) next time
Service was extremely slow & RUDE. Would never come back.
My friends & I attended this restaurant for our friend's birthday. We arrived at 8pm, it took an hour to get our drink order placed because our waitress didn't come see us for the first hour we were there, only taking our order when we went up to the bar & said we were ready to order. Then it took another 25 minutes to just get our food menus. Apparently since we were 12 we had to order a minimum of 55 dollars (which was not disclosed when going back & forth in text with the manager for making the reservation). Our only options was to choose the 65$ tasting menu. Fine. Our waitress Christina told us the salad was a garden salad with vinaigrette. It took an hour to get the smallest bowl of Cesar salad I have ever seen in my life. Then it took another 45 minutes to get our appetizer then another 30 minutes for main. We had told the staff that we needed to be out before 11pm but since our reservation was at 8pm we figured it would be no problem. We left at 12am. The whole time we were waiting the waitress never came to our table once. When it came time to pay there was an added 10$ jazz band fee which was not disclosed through messages with the staff. Telling us specifically that there would be no jazz band that night. When my friend said she would have liked to been notified about this cost our waitress Christina said'Yeah no shit' then THREW her receipt at her. Continuing to do the same with my other friend when she was not satisfied with the tip she received. Every single person at that table has worked in the service industry & we understand what it's like but I was beyond upset at my experience at this restaurant. When my friend left her poor review the manager messaged her asking her to take it down!
Just awful.
Christina was so rude, she charged us for the band when we were going back & forth in text & never mentioned a charge (i made the reservation & they told me there wouldn't be a band) i let her know that i would have liked to know she said'no shit' & threw my receipt on the table. Worse service I've ever had. It took us 1hour to order drinks, & received our supper 3 hours later. Extremely unprofessional & unorganized.
Hier, jeudi soir, nous sommes aller souper au Magique Magpie & avons pris le menu dégustation. Nous avons bien mangé & l'ambiance était très agréable. J'ai particulièrement aimé la Burratina & le drink'Date Night'! Merci!
The drinks are great !!! Can't wait to go back to try the tiramisu !!! Good place & the ambiance is perfect
This is a must-visit spot! The atmosphere is cozy & inviting, the service was friendly, & the food & drinks were absolutely superb. highly recommend! 💯
Love the cozy atmosphere & tasty food & drinks. We came here twice during our short stay in the city. Their drinks are very creative.
The vibe & setting of the place is unique. I was pretty disappointed with the drinks though. Their food was tasty I ordered the olives & the cheese they were amazing.

Dommage.

The first time I went here I had great service & great food. The drinks were pricey but were unique & fun to try. The bartender & male server were super friendly. The second time the service was slow & the server was somewhat passive aggressive. Paid in cash & never got my change back.. The server claimed a 35% tip for herself even despite her coming to the table once & her service being carried by her colleagues. The pizza was also burnt. If you go, try to sit by the bar to not end up in her section.
Absolutely had such a lovely experience here from the service, to the ambiance & to the food & drinks. This was my first time ever visiting Montreal & my mom & I were looking for a cool spot for some late night drinks & chats & this was perfect. This is a Speakeasy Bar with nice dim-lighting, burlesque-style decor, soft jazz music in the background that isn't too loud where you can actually hear each other speak! I ordered the Late Night Encounter drink which was like a Espresso Martini but, it wasn't too strong or bitter at all - it was very smooth with the perfect amount of sweetness. Then, I ordered their No Bias drink which was refreshing & very tasty. My mom & I got the Mirza Ghassemi & Noix Roties - both perfect little snacks to enjoy with your drinks & then we got their Burrata pizza to share which was SO DELICIOUS. I definitely will come back when I return to Montreal again!
Went here with my boyfriend on our little getaway to montreal because we love speakeasies & it was just adorable, just a bit hard to find because we were dropped off at the back & didn't know that it was the black door with the light... BUT! that's the fun of a speakeasy, there's also a big exterior on the main street but we didn't see it. Drinks were really good & atmosphere was super chilled out :)
Tellement cool comme concept, avec la porte cachée. Il faisait un peu chaud mais les décors sont incroyables, les drinks sont originaux & le service est supe
We enjoyed Dimitri's attention & service the other night, made our night so enjoyable ! The place is hidden behind the door & you walk a narrow hall to a nicely decorated room. The menu is small (for snacking mainly) but the cocktail menu was intriguing & innovative. We both enjoyed our drinks ! This place is great for date night or a 5@7 with friends or coworkers.
Really nice place, nice music. They can make you incredible drinks on demand. You should as for Christmas in Vegas one!! We had a little fun to find the hidden door in the backstreet even though they have a door on Saint-Denis
