We celebrated our civil wedding in the restaurant's private room (the library) & cannot compliment the service & food enough! I have been talking with the restaurant for a few months, & the staff has always been very attentive to our needs & on the day of, they allowed us to bring some flowers & favours for our guests. We ended up arriving a bit earlier than expected but the manager & staff quickly arranged the room for us. We greatly appreciate the
easiness & flexibility to talk & work with this restaurant & can't wait to come back!

Fantastic, attentive service with deliciously prepared dishes. The oysters of the day was whatever was available & fresh for the day. The Beluga Lentil salad was light & refreshing. The French Onion soup was tasty & delicious - the portion was huge. The Porterhouse was grilled to a juicy perfection & came with vegetables & we opted for the truffle mash which was heavenly. Despite the heavy rain outside, the staff remained kind, attentive, & welcoming throughout our visit. We started our evening with cocktails & wine in the central lounge, which offered a cozy, intimate setting. Although we arrived without a reservation, one of the managers accommodated us, providing a table in a particularly special spot near the vertical garden. The seating was comfortable, & the lighting was just right, enhancing the overall ambiance. Our waitress was friendly & attentive from the moment we sat down. The restaurant's atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern & elegant, making it suitable for any occasion. The music played at a perfect volume, allowing for easy conversation. Me & my friends visited Maggie Oakes at the recommendation of a local while visiting Montreal & I am SO HAPPY we went. All 8 of us left were so pleased with our experience! The food was incredible - the lobster pappardelle was to die for, others at the table got steak & burgers & were also very happy with their meals. The ceviche & prosciutto pizza were also delicious. The most stand-out thing about this restaurant though was definitely the service. The service here rivaled that of Michelin star restaurants i've been to. Our waitress was very attentive to our table, her drink recommendations were all so good, we had multiple people servicing our table, making sure we had water, providing fresh utensils, cleaning the table between dishes, etc. Not once did we have to wait for/ask to order, get water, etc. She was incredibly sweet, along with all the other staff. I'd highly recommend Maggie Oakes to anyone visiting Old Montreal. The quality of the food & service will blow you away!!View more

Exceptional Service & Fresh Food at Maggie Oakes! This was our second visit to Maggie Oakes (426 Pl. Jacques-Cartier, Montréal), & it happened to be on our anniversary! We didn't make a reservation, but the staff were accommodating & welcoming. The food was incredibly fresh & delicious! The service was attentive, prompt, & went above & beyond. One memorable moment that stood out was when we accidentally dropped a spoon, & a staff member (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name) quickly replaced it for us from a distance. What impressed us even more was that he said, "I heard you from afar & knew you'd need a new one!" This small gesture speaks volumes about the exceptional service at Maggie Oakes. The staff's attention to detail & anticipation of our needs made us feel truly valued. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! very small portions for the price - & i thought the roasted vegetables which accompanied my filet mignon lacked pizazz- the potatoes, despite being cooked with duck confit, were not crispy.....the carrots mushy. on the other hand, the salmon tartare was tasty & gf bread was available for spreading. i am celiac & found the service attentive to my concerns & knowledgeable about cross contamination. gf options for dessert were available, although i didn't sample these. would i go again? if someone else were paying, yes.View more

We decided to have breakfast at M.O on the second day of our trip to Montreal, Qb. We definitely enjoyed our stay, in particular the Maggie Oakes. Jeremy was very kind & attentive to our order, we had Salmon & eggs benedict, fruits, Croissant & the best Coffee ever, everything was yummy. Jeremy is definitely the best waiter we've ever met, thank you once more! The Chef came to bring our meal, we were just delighted about that.
