Absolutely loved our dinner at Mactaverne. The NY strip steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, & exactly how I like it. We finished the meal with the sticky toffee pudding, which was fantastic. I also had the best Guinness I have ever tasted. It was smooth, rich, & perfectly poured. Huge thanks to Tim, who suggested some incredible wines for my wife. I wish I had written the names down because she loved every one. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Les desserts succulents & gourmands, le service est chaleureux & professionnel & les cocktails sont maîtrisés à la perfection ! En bref une excellente adresse pour un moment suspendu au bord de la rivière ❤?
Nous avons souper en groupe sur la magnifique terrasse qui donne sur la rivière. L'ambiance y est chaleureuse, conviviale & parfaitement équilibrée entre détente & énergie. Le spot post vélo & post baignade idéal !
Côté nourriture, c'est un sans-faute. Le hamburger était tout simplement délicieux : pain moelleux, viande juteuse & garnitures savoureuses. Les entrées étaient originales & parfaitement exécutées, mention spéciale aux ailes de poulet & aux cornichons frits. Pour les amateurs de sauce piquante, je donne un 20/10 à la sauce maison. & que dire des desserts… un pur bonheur!
Les breuvages ne sont pas en reste : la carte des cocktails est variée & il y a des options de bières pour plaire à tous.

On est venus un jour de pluie & c'était quand même vraiment agréable de s'asseoir dehors. Les nouveaux propriétaires ont rénové l'endroit avec goût depuis le Baril roulant. Pour la bouffe, on a pris le steak, la salade, les ailes de poulet & les chips avec trempette à l'oignon. Tout était frais & délicieux. On a appris que le steak venait d'une ferme locale & ça paraissait. La sauce piquante qui venait avec les ailes était super fraîche & clairement faite maison. Finalement gros coup de coeur pour la trempette à l'oignon avec des chips de style'Ruffles' - un petit côté nostalgique qui allait parfaitement avec l'ambiance du pub. & les cocktails… clairement faits par un vétéran de l'industrie ! Overall, excellente bouffe servie avec 0 prétension.
Our large group had lunch here after visiting 1001 Pots. The setting next to the babbling river is beautiful. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The food was excellent & served promptly. Great place for a meal in Val David.
J'ai été mangé sur la terrasse du pub avec ma conjointe & notre calme bouvier bernois. Je n'ai pas le choix de dire que c'est un secret bien gardé de Val-David. Accueil, service, vins importation privé, bières super froide, nourriture excellente, choix & niveau de la musique juste assez pour que ce soit audible. Il semble même il y avoir une borne de recharge pour votre véhicule électrique. Emplacement avec vue sur les rapides. Vraiment je n'aurais pas pu rêver de mieux pour cet après-midi ensoleillé. On va revenir c'est sûr!

Ate at the pub, great location & even better food. The steak was amazing & everyone enjoyed their meal. High quality ingredients & great friendly staff. A must visit if you're nearby.

THE BEST FOOD I HAD IN MY 35 YEARS OF LIFE & I'm not exaggerating at all. I had the burger & the wings. It's the juiciest, fatest burger I'm ever eaten with a delicious brioche bun. The wings good lord!!! So delicately flavorful & perfectly breaded.
I intend to come back & try every single thing in there menu. Oh & I was there with my 1 year old. They are super kid friendly. There staff is sooo nice & friendly.
I spoke with the owner to let him know how exceptional the food was & he was so humble.
It's sad that there's a maximum of 5 stars because it's literally the best food I've ever had. It's 10/5 stars for me.
