Une superbe découverte. Auberge très bien rénovée avec un accueil des plus sympathiques, des chambres très confortables, un petit déjeuner compris & le tout pour 107$ plus taxes, c'est de loin le meilleur qualité prix que nous avons rencontré dans les Laurentides. & pour finir ils ont un pub ou l'on a mangé un succulent cheese burger & une non moins succulente tourte au poulet. Ne cherchez plus c'est LA place à Val David.
Went there for lunch with my family. I tried a Scotch egg for the first time & it was absolutely delicious. We all had the fish & chips & it was amazing. The service was phenomenal, I would definitely recommend stopping by when you're in the area!! You want be disappointed!!
We went to the pub. Can't speak about the rooms, but the pub was such a great experience, we went twice in our 3 night stay in Val-David. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS & the service & whole experience made that food even better. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Don't miss this cozy gem!

La décoration a complètement changé, tout le cachet d'avant s'est envolé. 😔 L'endroit est devenu assez quelconque,... avec un accueil qui ne ressemble pas à celui de l'ambiance de Val-David (chaleureux) C'est vraiment dommage d'avoir tout changé comme ça… Je leur souhaite malgré tout une bonne continuation…
Vous avez aussi une superbe balade à faire en avant avec la rivière…
Cet endroit est parfait pour profiter de la nature & relaxer. Nous y avons très bien mangé & y avons dormi une nuit. Un steak parfait à partager & une chambre très propre. Nous recommandons cette auberge sans hésiter.

Having dinner at their restaurant as a delicious treat before having a comfortable night in my room with jacuzzi. Jacuzzi helped me to relax & removed the stress of the day.
Morning is filled with generous sunlight which I loved & enjoyed.
Lovely breakfast & a conversation with the host gave me a good sense of connection & participation in this little community.

À l'entrée, une serveuse à qui j'ai dit bonjour - nous étions un groupe de sept (j'étais d'abord seule avec deux ados, les autres garaient la voiture) - a eu une attitude peu aimable. Avec un geste des bras, elle nous a indiqué de nous reculer davantage vers l'extérieur de l'entrée. Pourtant, nous ne bloquions personne & personne ne passait. Le restaurant était presque vide, & même si la terrasse était bien remplie, il restait encore des tables disponibles.
Nous nous sommes reculés comme elle l'avait demandé, puis elle est allée parler à un autre serveur. Elle est revenue en disant : « Il n'y a plus rien sur la terrasse. J'ai une table mais elle est réservée. Pour s'asseoir dehors, il faut réserver. »
J'ai répondu que ce n'était pas un problème, que l'intérieur nous convenait très bien.
Le serveur (un homme) nous a ensuite gentiment conduits à notre table.
Concernant la nourriture : c'était simple, basique. Le menu proposait cinq plats principaux & quelques entrées. La portion de hamburger était petite mais correcte (18 $, sans frites - supplément de 4 $ - ni salade - supplément de 6 $).
J'ai pris le fish & chips : bonne portion, bonne sauce tartare.
J'ai commandé une bière, mais elle n'était pas très bonne : sans corps, trop légère.
Nous avons accidentellement renversé un verre ; personne n'est venu proposer de l'aide. Nous avons dû utiliser nos propres serviettes pour nettoyer.
Ensuite, plus personne ne venait pour la note. Nous l'avons demandée trois fois, sans résultat. Après environ 25 minutes d'attente, nous avons dû nous lever pour chercher quelqu'un. La même serveuse du début nous a dit : « Ah, désolée, je sers d'autres clients… »
Huit minutes plus tard, elle est finalement revenue avec l'addition.
Elle n'avait vraiment pas l'esprit de service. Son attitude a rendu notre expérience moins agréable, ce qui est dommage, car les autres serveurs étaient aimables & attentionnés.
Le restaurant est pourtant joli, mais l'accueil laisse à désirer.
Nous avons tout de même laissé un pourboire de 10 %, même si, honnêtement, pour son service, il aurait été justifié de ne rien laisse

Belle expérience, ma conjointe & moi avons adorer. Les chambres sont tranquille. La nourriture du resto était excellente! Quand nous allons avoir la la chance nous allons y retourné!
Le bâtiment est superbe, l'intérieur est rustique-chic, j'ai donc adoré l'ambiance en partant. Arrivé à la reception, j'ai pu apercevoir que l'équipe était super sympatique & jasante. Le propriétaire, Tim, m'a montré où était situé ma chambre, une magnifique chambre avec bain jacuzzi. Je suis retourné au bar pour jaser avec l'équipe de l'hotel, & en prenant une Guinness, ils m'ont raconté que Tim fesait venir un gas spécial à bière, utilisé en Europe, pour la Guinness en fût. J'ai vraiment aimé, puis jai commandé à manger, des pâtes, qui étaient délicieuses. Ensuite, je suis aller au Parc des amoureux juste en face de l'établissement pour relaxer avec le bruit de la rivière qui se déverse à nos pieds. De tout les hôtels sur mon passage du Ptit Train du Nord (de Mont-Laurier à Bois-des-fillions), c'étais de loin mon préféré. Ça ma beaucoup aidé a finir mon escapade car je venais de finir le deux tier du trajet total & j'étais mentalement épuisé, & un peu physiquement. Parler avec Tim, Zack & l'équipe, dormir dans un lit super confortable au lieu de mon hamac & le jaccuzi m'ont aidés a me revigorer pour la dernière étape de mon trajet.
We came looking for the old brewery that used to be here - initially a little disappointed it had closed but oh my gosh MacTaverne Pub is just SO AMAZING.
We conservatively ordered a few apps to share & ended up making 3 more food orders over the course of the afternoon. The scotch eggs are to die for. The frites plus incredible. Every dish we had was amazing. The chef even cooked us a plain burger patty for our dog after a long day of hiking where we forgot her food.
The staff were equally as amazing - friendly, helpful & inviting. We will definitely be back.
