Maybe the best chicken in Montreal, definitely the best Portuguese style chicken. Must try the chicken sandwich with salad & fries. Also the poutine is incredible topped with chicken & chorizo. If the weather is nice, take it to go & go eat in the park.View more

Best Portuguese chicken in town! The food is always fresh, with generous portions at a great price. Their chicken is perfectly cooked, with options for spicy or mild to suit any taste. The chicken sandwiches are loaded with flavor, & the chorizo is smoky, juicy, & a must-try. The combos are a fantastic deal, & the chicken salad meals are fresh & filling. The poutine is absolutely delicious, especially with chicken, chorizo, or a mix of both-it's the perfect comfort food. This spot is always busy for a reason. We wanted to like it as much as everyone raves about it, but it was just good...not great. We were there on a Wed ~12 & we had maybe a 10-15 min wait - & fortunately all waiting inside to order. No line around the block. There is seating inside - more than I would have thought from the pictures/reviews, but we couldn't get a table & ended up eating it in our car. We got the #3 La Tremblay - chicken breast. It comes with a salad & fries. It's enough for 2 people. We thought the salad was great - wished there was more of that vs the fries. The fries were everywhere - you literally had to dig thru your box to find the chicken. & to me - that was the flaw. You're known for the chicken but truly - the box mostly contained fries....fries that weren't that good. Now - don't get me wrong - the chicken was good - when we could get some pieces of it. I thought the sauce with it was very flavorful. Is it worth the hoopla? Not in my eyes. Focus on what you do well - the chicken & don't surround it with bland fries.View more

Awesome! I ordered the salad with chicken & it was great 👍 The menu is on 3 different walls in English, French, & Portuguese sometimes hehe Staff is friendly & the service is fast & done with care. You can dine in; there are some tables & high chairs for the bar tables on the windows.View more

Recommended by Canadian friends, we tried this highly reputed Portuguese restaurant, & we were not disappointed by the excellent poutines & chicken sandwiches! The portions are generous, & the prices are reasonable. The salads are also of good quality. So, the quality/price/quantity ratio is unbeatable in the city. Expect a bit of a wait (30 minutes during lunchtime). There are few seats inside, but good weather allows for takeout & a meal at La Fontaine Park, which is just next door. I highly recommend it!View more

Located in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood of town, Ma Poulle Mouillée is a very popular, no-frills spot that's as famous for it's insanely long lines & wait times as it is for their succulent Portuguese style chicken. & while trying to get that aforementioned chicken can easily require standing in a line anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, most loyalists would say that it's absolutely worth the trouble & I would agree. Jean-Jacques Rousseau once said "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet" & boy was he right. The chicken coming out of this place is absolutely insane. It's full of flavor, it's moist & it is one of the bites of food I've had in a very long time. Depending on what you order, the contents of your box might change a bit but I recommend you get the "Le Tremblay" option for $16CAD which features some chicken breast, a ton of fries & a side salad of greens with shaved carrots in a delicious vinaigrette. Don't share, just chow down in shame. It's greasy, it's tasty & full of flavor. If you're super hungry (you must be American - hi!) you can get other, larger options: ones with chorizo or even befana & while the first is scrumptious, the befana was nothing to write home about & ordering it isn't something I'd do again. Honestly the Tremblay is plenty of food. Service wasn't particularly friendly or fast - but man, it just doesn't matter. Just get in line & you'll be rewarded with a Portuguese feast which shines some spotlight on a cultural piece of Montreal that few other places can showcase as well. A+View more

Food is top notch, portion is huge, only complain is the place is really hot (summer), imagine eating inside a sauna room. Chicken is so tender, poutine is great although a bit salty probably be cause if the sausage. Salad is better than a lot of higher end restaurants.View more

Get the small! The sizing & portions of food given is HUGE. I got #11 Chorizo & chicken salad -- I really enjoyed the amount of onions given & loads of meat with it. It was a great surprise. My friends got the chorizo & chicken poutine... watching them eat made me full. The dessert was good if you're looking for a sweet treat! Overall great money value for the portions!View more

Great portion size & good service. The food was all very flavourful. We ordered the chicken poutine, chicken was so tender & seasoned. The fries were good & good amount of cheese curds. Poutine also had sausage (Chorizo) bits in the plate which didn't have much flavour, borderline dry. It is a nice addition but it does not add much to the dish. We ordered a half chicken meal which came with salad & fries. The chicken was fall off the bone. We could not finish the meal as it was just so much food. Nothing special with the salad, chicken is the star here.View more

Très bien organisé, pas beaucoup de place assise à l'intérieur mais la proximité du parc la fontaine permet de prendre pour emporter & de manger le tout à l'extérieur. Abordable & sacrément délicieux!!!!!!!!!!! Comme au portugal. Pour un poulet entier, une énorme barquette de riz, une énorme barquette de patates fondantes à la graisse de poulet (les meilleures que j'aie jamais mangé, honnêtement) & une grosse salade mêlée, nous en avons eu pour une trentaine de dollars, ce qui est plus que correct au vu de la qualité du produit & de la quantité. Je conseille de prendre le poulet grillé tout simple avec ses accompagnements, il vaut la peine d'être dégusté dans sa simplicité. Je recommande vivement!View more

Bon, Ma Poule Mouillé c'est un petit comptoir lunch avec très peu de place assises.....ouais y avait des clients qui brettaient sur leur cell après avoir fini de manger 8 qui aurait dû quitter pour laisser place à d'autres clients. Nous avons dû emporter le repas & le consommer dans la voiture. Bref, comme le dit si bien les inscriptions à l'intérieur ; tu entre, tu choisis, tu paye, puis tu decrisses.....disons que c'est pas le jenre de service auquel nous nous attendions. J'ai même demandé à la caissière si l'un des desserts était bon, elle me dit qu'elle y avait goûter plus tôt & qu'elle ne l'avait pas aimé........merci pour sa franchise. Pour ce qui est de la présentation.......du plat.......1/2 poulet ensevelis d'une pelle de frites........trop de frites. Leur frites sont bonnes, leur salade fraîche....c'est différent & meilleur que la salade de choux traditionnelle. Tant qu'au poulet c'était bien cuit, tendre & juteux..... mais pour ce qui est d'un poulet aux saveurs portugaise.....ça rien à avoir avec le poulet aux vrai délice du Portugal que je peu manger chez des amis portugais.View more

This is the best Portuguese grilled chicken compared to other Portuguese grilles chicken. When you are in Montreal, you must try this. The salad was also yummy, the grilled chicken was also taste good.
We bought the breast chicken for $16, & they also have thigh chicken, half chicken or whole chicken. I really recommended for people to try it.... Hhmmm... Yummy...
The place is not big, but they have some table for dining in.View more
