Since opening 2 years ago this new place has really been able to grow into its much larger'jacket'. Busy during a Monday lunch service with prompt service, great oysters & shrimp & a similarly tasty Lobster roll & fries. Congratulations to the team at this Lucille's for making this downtown venue rock.
Went to Lucille's downtown without a reservation & the service was still great. Nothing beats their dollar oyster deal-it's always a win. The food tastes the same across all Lucille's locations, nothing particularly special but consistently good. Solid spot overall.
I've always enjoyed Lucille's for the last few years ,, arrived they had my table waiting for us ,, always the oyster's are great , never buy the cheaper ones ,, spend a few bucks more & get the tastier ones ,,, so I decide not to do the lobster rolls this time , ( I can only eat one , two is to much ) anyways I decided to try the steak & frit omg it was one of the best steaks ive ever had ,, & it was a flank steak. !!!!!!! wt% our waiter was great
I would not have expected such high quality food so close to a sporting venue. Great oysters & crab.
Aesthetically Cool, Culinary Chaos
The vibe? Great. The service? Fine. But the night felt like a symphony of shattered glass. I counted at least five broken glasses during dinner. It got to a point where it was almost part of the atmosphere.
The food was hit or miss. The pasta was cooked well, but the seafood inside it was disappointing. The squid tasted cheap & rubbery, the shrimp was overcooked, & the mussels were so tiny & sad I almost felt bad for them. The octopus, though, was the standout. Perfectly done & the only thing that saved the dish.
The trio tartare was another letdown. The whitefish was solid, but the tuna tasted mushy & clearly had seen better days, probably frozen & defrosted too many times. Now to the salmon. It's alright. Pretty difficult to mess up a simple standard salmon tartare dish!
Now, to give credit where it's due: the dollar oysters were a win. Fresh, flavorful, & easily the highlight of the meal.
Overall, Lucille's is fine if you're looking for a cool, trendy spot for a date night & aren't too focused on the food. It's the kind of place that looks great on Instagram. Just don't expect a mind-blowing meal.
Lucille's was fantastic! We went to the downtown location;'Lucille's Avenue des Canadiens', just across from the Centre Bell.
The food was INCREDIBLE!! We ordered 2 dozen'$1 Oyster Special' oysters. They were delicious & fresh! Sourced locally from Prince Edward Island, the oysters pair well with a Sauvignon Blanc.
My wife & I ordered the Steak Frites, medium rare. The food was cooked perfectly, the steak has an amazing herb butter on top, with a perfect crust. The fries were hot & crispy.
Giving the service a 3, we waited quite a while after being seated to actually have our order taken. We waited over 20 minutes, however, once the food was ordered, it came out very quickly.
The atmosphere was great, I would recommend making a reservation!
Sat with my boyfriend at the bar because we like to talk & not raise our voices across the table, but the restaurant was not too loud. 1$ oysters, octopus, cocktails, everything was good 💖
We stopped by Lucille's for drinks & bites before the Katy Perry concert on Wednesday July 30th & it was the perfect start to our evening! Jomo, who is a chef there, not only came to say hello, but he also served us with some incredible dishes; his burrata was next-level, the oysters were fresh & briny, & the lobster crab dip was absolutely delectable. The personalized experience left us with great memories!
The service was just as impressive as the food; friendly, attentive, & welcoming. No wait to get a seat, & the staff made us feel right at home, like we were hanging out with friends.
Huge shoutout to Jomo for his talent in the kitchen; he truly made the experience unforgettable for my sister & I. Lucille's is definitely a gem, & we'll be back soon!
This was the absolute best dining experience of my Montreal trip. The place is gorgeous. Such an amazing atmosphere & aesthetic to the dining room. The server was perfect. She was attentive & so nice. The host was also amazing, & he was great to talk to.
The food was top notch. This is seriously a must visit in Montreal for a perfect dinner. The oysters were delicious & the steak was absolutely off the hook. Best steak I have had in a long time.
Fun place to eat out to watch a game or hang out with friends after work. 1$ oysters are good! Food is nothing crazy but not bad either. Service is great!
Efficient service, great ambiance & delicious food. Oysters were incredible, & so was the lobster. Overall a wonderful experience, this place is amazing !
I'll start by saying our waiter was very very good, one of the best waiters I've witnessed in Montreal. The stars are solely for him.
I am shocked by the amount of 5 stars reviews, but I am assuming people who come here are fans of chains & have lower standards.
However the food was gross. Me & my friend ordered drinks, oysters, tacos & different types of steak, & it tasted like food from a frozen box. It was the worst steak I've eaten(thought it was from the keg, but this tops it). On top of that, me & my friend did not feel good at all afterwards.
Unless you're solely coming for drinks, I do not recommend.
Excellent from beginning to end.
Cocktails where very well balanced.
Appetizers where great but the 1$ oysters stole the show.
Ribsteak was cooked perfectly.
The chocolate cake was excellent.
Jomo was an outstanding server! The food was delicious & the vibe was immaculate. We had 1$ oysters & also tried the new premium oyster menu. It had great toppings & quality oysters. Thank you for the experience.
A wonderful close to a great visit to Montreal! The seafood was delicious & very fresh. We enjoyed the oysters before moving onto our main course. The seafood Caesar was so tasty & a wonderful compliment to the oysters.
The steak frites came with an amazing red wine sauce that complimented the cut of meat so well. The New York strip was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend getting the peppercorn sauce! It goes amazing on top of the frites.
