Lou's Restaurant is described across reviews as a cozy, stylish West Island spot with consistently high quality food, great drinks, and friendly, attentive service that makes it feel like a neighborhood gem. Diners praise a diverse menu with standout dishes such as tuna carpaccio, crab cake, beef tartare, pasta Genovese, and a variety of pasta options, along with brioche bread and a beloved bread pudding for dessert. The atmosphere is frequently called welcoming and intimate, suitable for date nights, family dinners, or private events in the downstairs room, though several comments note that the space can be very loud and noisy at peak times. Service is repeatedly described as courteous and knowledgeable, with many experiences marked by quick, efficient hospitality, while a few visits are tempered by slower pacing or uneven attention. Value and portion size receive mixed feedback, with some guests feeling meals are pricey or portions small for the price, while others find the offerings well balanced for the West Island. The kitchen is praised for thoughtful preparation and attention to detail, and the drinks program is highlighted as well curated and flavorful. Overall, the consensus is that Lou's Restaurant is a top local option, delivering memorable dining and a lively vibe, with minor caveats about noise, pacing, and value depending on the visit.
I went with two of my friends & was not disappointed. The service was excellent & the cocktails were some of the best I've had. It's a really nice atmosphere & I will definitely be coming back!
My husband & I really enjoyed our night! We unknowingly reserved for the bar which unbeknownst to us, was very pleasant. Our bartender Addy was simply wonderful & we got to know the restaurant on a much more intimate level! The food was exceptional & you can tell how much work & dedication the chefs put into every dish. Highly recommend the tuna carpaccio & the scallops which were divine! Also the Caesar salad & the rigatoni were phenomenal. A hidden gem in the West, will definitely be returning!
Très bruyant, service déplorable & trop lent, nourriture malheureusement pas vraiment bonnes. Pas mauvais mais ne vaut pas la peine de retourner, je ne recommande absolument pas

Service was exceptional, drinks delicious, but unfortunately main course for 6 out of 7 diners was served cold. Furthermore, the dishes were not the same as earlier visits, not enough sauce in the pasta, salad leaves whole, no vinaigrette on half the salad, bread pudding underwhelming. Several diners had already been a few times, enjoyed their meals. Perhaps trying a new chef? We won't go again.
Everything we ordered were fantastic. Highly recommend the spicy tuna carpaccio, beef tartare, crab cake, baked scallops as appetizers. Pasta & rib steaks (25oz) were also good. Only minor thing was the fires was overly salted otherwise it was very good fries. Great service & chill vibe. Nice to see that West Island have this kind of restaurant. Highly recommended. The downside was that the restaurant was very warm & humid. Like some other reviews mentioned. The AC definitely not working well.
Good experience, however nothing to write home about just yet. I can see they are trying to do something different here. I get the new hype of having a hip downtown-like restaurants in the west Island but this isn't quite there yet. It's good, but really not worth the price. For a small piece of bass, 1 potato cut into 4 wedges & 5 brocolis ain't really worth the nearly $40 price mark. The tuna was great but the boat load of garnishes (3 different types of onions) really takes away from the dish. Ingredients wise in this case I believe less would have been more. Genovese was great no complaints there. The kitchen & mgmt needs to work on their dishes to make up for those prices. $200+ dollars for 3 drinks, 2 entrees & 2 mains didnt quite feel I got my money's worth TBH. With a few adjustments in time this place will thrive

Amazing restaurant! You can tell it's a labour of love for the chef. As a fellow chef I know how much effort it takes to develop such depth of flavour! Everything was executed perfectly & the service from Katia was efficient & friendly. A must try!!
They did not have a lot of things that they had on the menu. Their menu is already small. They had no pasta left. Then they only had 1 burger? Who has 1 burger left? We had a reservation for 6 people. The tuna carpacio was good & their fries were pretty good too. Will not be back tho
Had the most amazing dinner at Lou's! Everything from food, service, to ambiance was just spot on. We ordered almost everything on the menu & it was all amazing. I particularly loved the onion dip, tuna tar tar & the burger. Can't wait to go back!
The food is very good, staff is efficient. We liked the resto but found it a little noisy. Prices are on the upper side of the scale. No surprise since all restos are increasing their prices. Overall a great experience.
We just had dinner here, we've been excited to try it since it opened in the village. The food was good. The crab cake was delish! Mmm. The braised beef pappardelle - pasta Genovese was good but not to die for. But, it was way way too hot. We asked the waitress if the ac is working she replied "oh yes it is fully on, it's a small space & doors are open all the time & I'm hot too...". It was also very loud. It's very small & very loud though esthetically pretty. My first choice was the Caesar salad, but I wanted some chicken on it. So I asked & the waitress & she said they can't do it...even though they have a roasted chicken dish. Then I debated the burger, but wanted to substitute the fries for a Caesar salad. She quickly replied "it's company policy we can't do that..." umm... 🙄 Odd as they have a bowl of salad as a meal ( no chicken offered yet they serve chicken as a meal...) very rarely do we come across a restaurant that can't alter or modify things to make customer happy especially a nicer place like this one that isn't a huge chain. The wine & beer were very small for the cost- the beer wasn't even a pint for $9. Overall we didn't enjoy the experience fully. We wouldn't come back unless it was for someone's birthday for example.
