Had a chance to try Lloydies as it was recommended by a friend. Got myself a patty, jerk meal & a side of fried chicken with the peppa sauce & coconut coleslaw. Patty was a bit dry, but still not bad. The fried chicken was a bit bland, I would probably pass on it. The jerk chicken was flavourful & moist, probably best part of the meal! Rice & peas was decent too. Coconut coleslaw was okay, I prefer creamy coleslaw & the peppa sauce was pretty good. Overall, I was comparing the Montreal jerk chicken to Toronto jerk chicken, & I have to say, Toronto wins, but Montreal is still good! Would recommend the jerk chicken for sure!
4.7⭐️ I absolument love this place. Jamaican patties are okay but I save my appetite for the plates. Best Jerk chicken I've ever encountered. Spiced right & cooked to perfection. I tend to order an extra side of chicken. The oxtail is amazing. Most places will have little lean meat & mostly fatty & bone but not Lloydies! Don't forget to mix your slaw in w/ the lentil rice. Portions per serving are quite generous. The restaurant is very clean & orderly. Highly recommend treating yourself to this eatery.

The best jerk chicken I've had in Montreal, I've tried a couple other places but it wasn't as good. & the picture of the speakers, nope, that's the bathroom😂 pretty cool. The portion of food you get for your money is worth it also.
Girl serving was nice to my friend but then unfriendly to my other friend which was a bit weird 🤷♀️ Chicken portions were uneven but still tasted pretty yummy! & the pattys are not bad either! Coleslaw is good! I really like the way the food is served, plates are really cute! & I like the decor of the place too!
Jerk chicken & pork very good! Rice & beans could use more beans. Plantin needs to be sliced thinner. Can't wait to try fried chicken. Welcoming staff 😍

what fantastic food. great portions. big flavors. but homestyle at the same time. got the oxtail & jerk chicken to share-- both were satisfying. environment is very warm & cozy & easy to have a chat in even when its full. counter service but food is worth it.
the jerk chicken is very good. ambience like been in the beach with Caribbean & rap music but a cold atmosphere, nice ladies for good service save the place.
Pros : Decent amount of oxtail for 20$. Meat was tender & juicy. Plantain out of this world! Food was ready really fast. Bajan fried chicken is good!!!
Cons :on the oxtail plate, there was a lot of gravy so I was happy at first but when I tasted, it was bland..like no real taste. I found it had instead some sort of bbq flavor. Husband had the jerk chicken & made the same comment. Also, it Wasnt the regular rice & peas im used to..I wanted some all spice & nutmeg flavor which (In my taste) was missing unfortunately. But it seems really popular so good for the owners!!! Also nice decor!! but Ill stick to my usual spots in NDG & Lasalle for oxtail & jerk.
Service is insanely good & fast. Chicken & food in general is delicious & feels fresh. The decor & vibe of the place is so cool it brightens up the entire neighbourhood. Truly on of the best & more importantly, most consistent spots in MTL for jerk chicken. Will come back here for sure
