Review Summary

Overall, Lloydie's is a flavorful Caribbean spot mixing Bajan and Jamaican influences with generous portions and good value. Jerk chicken is frequently praised for its tenderness and heat, while the oxtail, jerk pork, patties, and plantains are noted for flavor and texture. Rice and peas can be excellent but some diners miss gravy to finish the dish, and a few menu items run out, which disappointed guests. The pepper sauce is spicy and tasty, and the staff are friendly in a vibrant, retro atmosphere. Regulars plan to return to try more items like jerk chicken poutine and loaded patties, making Lloydie's a popular choice for a hearty Caribbean meal at a fair price, with beverage variety and occasional stock issues highlighted as areas for improvement.

It wasn't what I expected but the Jamaican food options did hit the spot. I tried the never before heard of jerk pork patty flavor explosion link up which put a big smile on my face. The new form required eating with a knife & fork due to the amount of pork & vegetables stuffed into the patty but in true Jamaican style, I ate it like a boss with my hands & ignored the bits falling back down to the plate in the moment. I won't lie, the main jerk chicken meal did have what takes to be declared authentic Jamaican food. I will definitely go again. My only strife was the lack of a varied beverage options.

I've been here twice & the food is full of flavour. It's a fusion of bajan & Jamaican cuisine. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere of the restaurant is vibrant & unique. If you want to satisfy your cravings, the oxtail & jerk chicken are really good. The pepper sauce is spicy & delicious!

Honestly pretty good. The jamaican patties were definitely a bit too dry in my opinion & they didn't have any oxtail on the menu which I really wanted to try but the pork jerk was good as well as the beans & rice & plantin !

4.7⭐️ I absolument love this place. Jamaican patties are okay but I save my appetite for the plates. Best Jerk chicken I've ever encountered. Spiced right & cooked to perfection. I tend to order an extra side of chicken. The oxtail is amazing. Most places will have little lean meat & mostly fatty & bone but not Lloydies! Don't forget to mix your slaw in w/ the lentil rice. Portions per serving are quite generous. The restaurant is very clean & orderly. Highly recommend treating yourself to this eatery.

As a Jamaican myself it's hard to find real authentic food that feels like home & especially when it comes to oxtail. I can confidently say the oxtail is 9.5/10 I would give it a 10 If there was a little more meat but honestly its not that deep but the food is 10/10 ,the vibe is 10/10 & service 10/10. The food a GWAN STILL !
