Review Summary

Lloydie's is highly regarded for its authentic and flavorful Caribbean cuisine, with many patrons praising the jerk chicken, oxtail, and a variety of delicious meat and veggie patties. The atmosphere is frequently described as vibrant, clean, and welcoming, complemented by friendly and attentive staff who contribute to a pleasant dining experience. While most customers find the portions generous and the pricing excellent, some note that specific items like rice dishes could benefit from additional gravy or that certain patties may occasionally feel dry. Overall, it is considered a go-to spot in Montreal for consistent quality, quick service, and satisfying meals that keep locals and visitors coming back.

I ordered the jerk chicken, with brown rice & peas, & plantain. The chicken was done well, with a little kick to it, but not too much. The plantain was cooked well & not dried out. The rice was good but missing gravy which makes a big difference. Make sure to ask for gravy! Other than that, the price was very good.

No meat on the oxtail & the rice it's like uncle Ben. So peas on it.

Lloydie's is a great spot for Caribbean food.

I ordered the Jerk Chicken plate. It costs 15$ & it's very good value for money, you get a good amount of food. Chicken is fresh & tasty (could use a bit more spice). Rice is very good & plantains were great too. I also ordered side of mac & cheese which was alright (5$). Service was exceptional. The atmosphere is also really cool & retro.

I would recommend Lloydie's to anyone on the lookout for a hearty Caribbean style meal. I will definitely return soon to try the Jerk Chicken Poutine.

Honestly pretty good. The jamaican patties were definitely a bit too dry in my opinion & they didn't have any oxtail on the menu which I really wanted to try but the pork jerk was good as well as the beans & rice & plantin !

I see why there is not a lot of Tik tok reviews on this place. Order the jerk chicken & it was just bake chicken no spice at all & it tasted old like it was made the day before . & I grew up eating leftovers wasn't happy about that. Rice was good . Got Mac pic again made days again hard noodles the top was so hard I couldn't even eat it . They need to do better .

Solid portion. Rice was really good. I love the plastic covered booth cushions that felt really old school.

Cute little spot for Caribbean food, tried the jerk chicken & it was really good, loved the rice too. Patties are also great & prices are really affordable with big portions.

Had a chance to try Lloydies as it was recommended by a friend. Got myself a patty, jerk meal & a side of fried chicken with the peppa sauce & coconut coleslaw. Patty was a bit dry, but still not bad. The fried chicken was a bit bland, I would probably pass on it. The jerk chicken was flavourful & moist, probably best part of the meal! Rice & peas was decent too. Coconut coleslaw was okay, I prefer creamy coleslaw & the peppa sauce was pretty good. Overall, I was comparing the Montreal jerk chicken to Toronto jerk chicken, & I have to say, Toronto wins, but Montreal is still good! Would recommend the jerk chicken for sure!
