This hidden gem offered a memorable dining experience, reflecting both the rich culinary heritage of the region & the vibrant atmosphere of Old Montreal. **Ambiance & Service:** Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, Restaurant Les Pyrénées exudes a warm & inviting ambiance. The rustic decor, combined with a cozy, intimate setting, creates the perfect backdrop for a special celebration. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with ease & ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. **Appetizer & Wine:** We started our meal with a classic appetizer of dip & bread, perfectly paired with a bottle of Bodegas Aroa Le Naturel Navarra wine. The dip was creamy & flavorful, & the bread was fresh & warm, setting a high standard for the dishes to follow. The wine, with its rich & robust flavors, complemented the appetizer beautifully. **Main Courses:** For our main course, we indulged in two exquisite dishes: 1. **Twelve Hours Braised Lamb:** The lamb, slow-cooked to perfection, was incredibly tender & flavorful. Accompanied by spinach with roasted almonds & a delicate thyme sauce, each bite was a harmonious blend of textures & tastes. The roasted almonds added a delightful crunch, & the thyme sauce elevated the dish to new heights. 2. **Rotinis with Chicken & Chorizo:** This dish was a vibrant medley of flavors & colors. The rotinis were cooked al dente, & the combination of chicken, chorizo, crunchy vegetables, olives, & sun-dried tomatoes created a symphony of tastes that was both hearty & satisfying. The chorizo added a spicy kick, while the sun-dried tomatoes provided a tangy sweetness that balanced the dish perfectly. **Dessert:** To conclude our meal, we opted for the Crème Caramel. This classic dessert was the ideal ending to our dining experience, with its smooth, creamy texture & rich caramel flavor. It paired wonderfully with the remaining sips of our wine, creating a delightful finish to our evening. **Conclusion:** Restaurant Les Pyrénées offered us an unforgettable dining experience, celebrating both our time in Montreal & the rich culinary traditions of the region. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, & a charming ambiance makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone in Old Montreal. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a delightful meal, Restaurant Les Pyrénées is sure to impress.View more
Excellent food & service. I really enjoyed my visit. Staff recommendations were spot on!View more
We came here because we were staying nearby, & I love paella. Don't come here if you love paella. It was terrible. The seafood was overcooked, & there was no socarrat in the paella. They basically cooked some rice in a steam pot, threw in some WAY overcooked shrimp, clams, & mussels, & tossed it in a paella like pan. If you love paella, you know what socarrat is. This had none. It also had no flavor. My dining companion had the lasagna, & it was a hot mess, as well. The top had a crunchy & chewy texture. The rest was an overcooked mass of mush. At least it had a good flavor. They probably achieved that by happy accident. I was really disappointed in our main meals. &, they weren't cheap. The only thing that was good was the donut with ice cream. This was very tasty. They must have had a separate chef cooking this bad boy, cuz it was perfect. I still gave this restaurant 3 stars because the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was great, & her helper was very friendly & attentive as well. **Note...This was only one of two restaurants in Montreal that we had good service at. We're going on almost 5 years since COVID, & I think restaurant service is actually getting worse & not better.View more
Helped made our honeymoon feel special. Terrific service.View more
Came across this gem while looking for gluten-free food options in old port. It's a Spanish Catalan cuisine, great spot for paella. We ordered salad & seafood paella & they were fantastic. The portions are generous. The service was great & the manager is doing an amazing job; really enjoyed our experience. My advice: don't skip dessert!!!! The dessert was exceptional!!! The profiteroles are to die for & we tried the orange cake which was also amazing. Very elegant laid back vibe, I recommend for a chill night out or a date night!View more
Overpriced & not that good. French onion soup tasted like poutine. Fish was a little tough & dry. Pretty sure they reheat Costco baguettes for their bread (which aren't that bad to be fair) but overall not worth it.View more
I don't get the hype. Food was ok & overly priced. Small portions & food was dry & boring.View more
Food was okay. we ended up not being super hungry. We asked for the food to go, 20m after they just give us the bill, food never came. Wasted $100View more
We had dinner here since it was walkable from our hotel. The food & service were both great. We started with the crusted goat cheese & strawberry salad which was very good & unique! For dinner we got the paella & it was very good/fresh/flavorful. Highly recommend!View more
Exceeded culinary desires. In a peaceful & romantic side street away from the hectic tourist. It warrants 5 Star Michelin. Merci BeacoupView more
Very good service! Always had someone refilling our glasses. Very polite staff. Food was great other than the French onion soup being too sweet. Everything else A+View more
It was ok but I just felt a bit disappointed in it overall based on the price paid for the meal. I'd think you'd get more than two scallops for $25 & it suffered very poorly in comparison with the other really memorable meals we have had in Montreal. Just much better places to go. So nothing bad, just nothing great either but the staff were very nice.View more
Went there for Father's Day. Food was ok. We felt that we were rushed even though restaurant was empty (apart from us there was no one at the restaurant at 11:15 am - outside in terrace seating there were 4- 6 people). The wait staff tried removing the soup bowl before it was finished. He apologized, but later he did the same with the main course dish. We had to tell him that we are still eating. The wait staff added the tip amount by himself & passed the card reader. The tip % was more than we had planned to give due to our experience. Hopefully, they train the wait staff better so people can have better dining experience!View more
View more
Overpriced & underwhelming tourist trap. We went during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend. Actually, we were shocked we were able to find a table for a large group, but after eating there it became clear. The food was mediocre at best & shamelessly overpriced. The paella was dry, underseasonned & had mostly mussels, a few tiny clams & three shrimp, not any chorizo to speak of. The grilled squid was boiled & absolutely had no flavor. The onion soup was too sweet & unbalanced in flavor. The fried trio platter, tasted of rancid oil & was a bit burned & heavily coated with oil. A couple of meat dishes were dry but edible. Service was good but not outstanding. Not a place I would return to or recommend. We left wondering where all the five star reviews came from.View more
