The food was so good that we were surprised that there was no other customers at the time of our visit in the afternoon. Great interior, great food, great staff.
We totally demolished the first tray of baguette so we were offered a second tray. We ate too much bread because the dipping sauce was soooo good that I could not even finish half of my paella after😂.View more

Very nice discovery in the old port of Montreal. First visit here on New Years Eve. Even if one of the chef got hurt in the morning, all the staff worked really hard to satisfy everyone. They asked us to move our reservation to help them & it was a pleasure for us, we had such a great evening. One of the best paella outside of Spain. Very nice menu & lots of choices also for vegetarians. They accomodate everyone of us for allergies & food intolerances. We where a group of 8 & everyone agreed that this is a spot to know. Wish i could have stayed in town a few more days. Can't wait for my next trip in Montreal.View more

Sophisticated food with a casual & comfortable atmosphere! This restaurant was a happy surprise after a long day of travel. Everything was delicious & our only complaints: too many amazing dishes to choose from & not enough time on our trip to squeeze in a second visit! The duck salad was the star of the meal. But the dip with the bread was lovely & our entrees: Catalonian parillada style meats mixed grill & the featured grilled calamari was excellent. We hope to one day to try the paella, Spanish style fish & seafood parrillada, & so many other dishes!View more

Situated in the heart of Old Port Montreal, my experience here was nothing but positive. We were lucky enough to sit by the window, enjoying a stunning view that captured the old European vibe of the city. The customer service was outstanding, with our waiter clearly explaining the menu. We ordered the paella, a dish with sausage & beans (maybe with rice?), & a brie cheese salad as an appetizer. The portions were generous, & I loved every dish we tried. While it may not be the most budget-friendly spot, if you're looking to fully immerse yourself in Spanish cuisine with excellent service, this is the place to be.View more

The restaurant was not crowded but we still waited 30 mins for our drinks & soup to show up. The paella was cold & dry when it arrived another 30 mins later. They got the drink order wrong & gave us a free tasteless dessert as a consolation for the bad service & food. Would not recommendView more

We came here because we were staying nearby, & I love paella. Don't come here if you love paella. It was terrible. The seafood was overcooked, & there was no socarrat in the paella. They basically cooked some rice in a steam pot, threw in some WAY overcooked shrimp, clams, & mussels, & tossed it in a paella like pan. If you love paella, you know what socarrat is. This had none. It also had no flavor. My dining companion had the lasagna, & it was a hot mess, as well. The top had a crunchy & chewy texture. The rest was an overcooked mass of mush. At least it had a good flavor. They probably achieved that by happy accident. I was really disappointed in our main meals. &, they weren't cheap. The only thing that was good was the donut with ice cream. This was very tasty. They must have had a separate chef cooking this bad boy, cuz it was perfect. I still gave this restaurant 3 stars because the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was great, & her helper was very friendly & attentive as well. **Note...This was only one of two restaurants in Montreal that we had good service at. We're going on almost 5 years since COVID, & I think restaurant service is actually getting worse & not better.View more

Came across this gem while looking for gluten-free food options in old port. It's a Spanish Catalan cuisine, great spot for paella. We ordered salad & seafood paella & they were fantastic. The portions are generous. The service was great & the manager is doing an amazing job; really enjoyed our experience. My advice: don't skip dessert!!!! The dessert was exceptional!!! The profiteroles are to die for & we tried the orange cake which was also amazing. Very elegant laid back vibe, I recommend for a chill night out or a date night!View more

We had dinner here since it was walkable from our hotel. The food & service were both great. We started with the crusted goat cheese & strawberry salad which was very good & unique! For dinner we got the paella & it was very good/fresh/flavorful. Highly recommend!View more

Overpriced & underwhelming tourist trap. We went during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend. Actually, we were shocked we were able to find a table for a large group, but after eating there it became clear. The food was mediocre at best & shamelessly overpriced. The paella was dry, underseasonned & had mostly mussels, a few tiny clams & three shrimp, not any chorizo to speak of. The grilled squid was boiled & absolutely had no flavor. The onion soup was too sweet & unbalanced in flavor. The fried trio platter, tasted of rancid oil & was a bit burned & heavily coated with oil. A couple of meat dishes were dry but edible. Service was good but not outstanding. Not a place I would return to or recommend. We left wondering where all the five star reviews came from.View more

The service here was sublime. Atmosphere perfect. On general we all enjoyed our food. The selections were excellent. & exceptional vegetarian options. The soupe de poisson was very good. The orange Cake for dessert was nothing short of amazing. Just mildly disappointed in the paella. Would order something different next time but definitely will return for another visit.View more

A must when visiting Montreal. Joey met as at door & invited us in. Dorothy was an awesome server & Joey checked in regularly. Go for Grilled calamari vs fried. It was epic!. Paella was very authentic & tasty & the wine recommendation was perfect. The atmosphere is lovely & I can only imagine the summer & being outside. Many Spanish restaurants in Montreal try to get the paella right but miss in one way or another. I lived in Spain & have traveled the country. I can tell you with great certainty Pyrénées got it right! Loved my dish & the service was excellent! Highly recommend.View more

Le service est impeccable. Les serveurs sont attentionné & sert le vin/eau tout de suite. La bouffe est bonne. J'ai bien aimé mon entrée de Tian d'aubergine. Ma paella végé manquait un peu de goût je trouvais. Le dessert était délicieux. On a reçu une baguette avec une sauce à base de tomate & a la fin un mini-verre de vin de dessert (gratuitement) qui étaient très appréciés pour le temps des fêtes :)View more

Unfortunately, our visit here was rather disappointing. We met some friends who came to visit & arrived a bit late so we chose to go to a restaurant next to their hotel. First & foremost, the food just didn't taste good. My soup was almost cold & the subsequent paella was dry in both meat & rice. Furthermore was the service quite unfriendly when we didn't drink any alcohol as a sober friend was with us. It felt like we were ignored afterwards & attention was diverted elsewhere. Montreal has so many great restaurants so I would recommend visitors to venture outside of the old port & find actually good food & respectable service!View more

Looked great from outside, popped in, sat by the window & ordered some food. The French Onion soup was mediocre & my Seafood Paella was a bit dry but tasted alright. The Soup was good but the Lasagne was very dry, almost or probably heated up in a microwave! The cocktails were amazing & tasted really good. The staff were very friendly & attentive. The decor was nice & the atmosphere was decent for the time of the day.View more

I visited Old Montreal for (5) five days & Les Pyrenees was by far the absolute "best restaurant", of (6) six that I visited while on vacation! They were very friendly & courteous. I had the privilege of having the owners son wait on our table. He was very friendly & a pleasure to converse with, & made us feel like we were at home. They served absolutely the best Paella I have ever eaten, & the seafood was fresh with the rice & Chorizo seasoned like real authentic Spanish & French style cooking is known for. To cap off my meal, I had Crème Bruellee for dessert which was unbelievably awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant! You will not be disappointed!

C'est très copieux. Mon chum n'à même pas tout manger sa paella. Moi en plat principal c'était une céleste morue. Ça fondait dans la bouche. Les desserts étaient succulents. Microscopique bémol, on constate qu'ils offraient aux clients un muscat à la fin du repas. On trouvait ça cool. On n'y a pas eu droit. Enfin, on y retournera quand même, c'était trop bon.

Wow, j'adore ce restaurant & je compte bien y retourner. J'y étais allée avec une amie & nous avions été surprises par l'excellent service & la qualité des plats. J'avais pris les joues de veau braisées & c'était vraiment bon. Mon amie à pris les pétoncles en entrée & encore une fois: Wow!! J'y suis ensuite retournée avec mon copain cette semaine & il a essayé leur spécialité, la Paella. C'était tout simplement excellent. Je n'ai que du bon à dire de ce restaurant & j'ai bien hâte d'y retourner. Le service était plus qu'excellent les 2 fois & je voulais le mentionner. Je crois que c'est Max & Guillaume qui étaient les serveurs. Je vous recommande fortement ce resto!!
