What a gem. Hard to find a good Spanish restaurant in Montreal but this has passed my expectations. Plates are well balanced, properly cooked, & feature some great Catalunya choices. Very friendly staff, not a long wait for dishes. It was a wonderful birthday dinner!View more

Absolutely loved our dinner at Pyrénées in Old Montreal! The atmosphere is charming & cozy, perfectly matching the historic vibe of the area. I was especially impressed with the strawberry & goat cheese salad-so fresh & full of flavor. The scallops were perfectly cooked & simply delicious. Service was outstanding-friendly, attentive, & made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great Spanish dining experience in the heart of the old town!View more

First, I thought this was a Spanish restaurant & asked for croquetas then I was told they didn't have them.
I said, but this is a Spanish restaurant, I was then told, no this is a restaurant from Catalu?a, hmm well in the region of Catalu?a there are no tapas but pinchos, but no croquetas uhm weird.
Anyway, I ordered an arroz catalan, yes a starter but ordered a larger plate.
When it arrived mine & my wife's were not warmed enough.
I asked to be warmed up. My wife preferred not.
When it was brought back, then it was much better.
Also, it was advertised that they sell creme Brule, if the place sells plates from Catalu?a then, they should have had crema catalana.
I also asked if they had tinto de Verano, a popular Spanish drink, & then was pointed to the sangria menu & not what I had asked.
Service ok but not satisfied.View more

We went to Pyrenees just by searching on google for a Spanish restaurant. I ordered 12-hour braised lamb that night. I can tell you it that it was one of the best lamb meals I had ever had. So, we went back next time for lunch. This time I ordered lamb shank from lunch menu. Again, it was amazing. Lunch menu was more affordable. For lunch, soup or salad, & coffee were included. I chose soup & coffee. My friend tried salad & coffee. They bring French buggets & some sauce at the beginning. In general, I totally recommend it.View more

I had the pleasure of dining at Les Pyrénées for the first time with my family, & it was a wonderful experience! This is a reservation-based restaurant, but we arrived without one. Luckily, we came early, & I'm so glad we did because the place filled up quickly & was packed by the time we finished. It's clear this is a popular spot, & for good reason. The restaurant is perfect for large groups, with a warm & inviting ambiance that combines rustic Spanish charm with modern touches. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. The staff was welcoming, attentive, & ensured our dining experience was seamless. For appetizers, we were treated to freshly baked bread served with a creamy garlic spread that set the tone for the meal. Every bite was a delight. My family was thrilled with their dinner choices, & everyone left satisfied. I ordered from the dinner specials menu & had the Seared Salmon. The filet was cooked to perfection & served with a vibrant salsa of avocado, radishes, capers, & tomatoes. The flavors were fresh, balanced, & absolutely delicious. For dessert, I indulged in the Flan Caramel, a French-style custard with subtle star anise aromas. It was smooth, rich, & the perfect way to end the meal. All in all, tonight's dinner was a success. The food, service, & ambiance exceeded our expectations, & we were all pleased with our orders. Les Pyrénées is a gem, & we'll definitely be back-this time with a reservation!View more

Sophisticated food with a casual & comfortable atmosphere! This restaurant was a happy surprise after a long day of travel. Everything was delicious & our only complaints: too many amazing dishes to choose from & not enough time on our trip to squeeze in a second visit! The duck salad was the star of the meal. But the dip with the bread was lovely & our entrees: Catalonian parillada style meats mixed grill & the featured grilled calamari was excellent. We hope to one day to try the paella, Spanish style fish & seafood parrillada, & so many other dishes!View more

It has not been my best experience tasting the vast & rich Spanish food that exists. Although I must highlight the wonderful reception & attention of everyone in the place, unfortunately the food was not first class. A seafood grill that was, so to speak, simple. It lacked a lot of Spain: onion, garlic, saffron, leek, cilantro. In short, it was not bad, but not worth repeating either, since the dish we ordered can easily be reproduced at home without much effort (prawns, oysters & grilled fish), & perhaps we would all do better with a little extra creativity. If I went back I would dare to try another dish.View more

Situated in the heart of Old Port Montreal, my experience here was nothing but positive. We were lucky enough to sit by the window, enjoying a stunning view that captured the old European vibe of the city. The customer service was outstanding, with our waiter clearly explaining the menu. We ordered the paella, a dish with sausage & beans (maybe with rice?), & a brie cheese salad as an appetizer. The portions were generous, & I loved every dish we tried. While it may not be the most budget-friendly spot, if you're looking to fully immerse yourself in Spanish cuisine with excellent service, this is the place to be.View more

Came across this gem while looking for gluten-free food options in old port. It's a Spanish Catalan cuisine, great spot for paella. We ordered salad & seafood paella & they were fantastic. The portions are generous. The service was great & the manager is doing an amazing job; really enjoyed our experience. My advice: don't skip dessert!!!! The dessert was exceptional!!! The profiteroles are to die for & we tried the orange cake which was also amazing. Very elegant laid back vibe, I recommend for a chill night out or a date night!View more

What an absolute Gem!!! If you like seafood & Spanish food you have to eat here!! The entrees were devine: cauliflower soup & strawberry goat cheese salad. The paella is absolutely amazing!!! Fantastic service & in the heart of old Montreal, what more can you ask for!! EAT HERE!!!View more

Many Spanish restaurants in Montreal try to get the paella right but miss in one way or another. I lived in Spain & have traveled the country. I can tell you with great certainty Pyrénées got it right! Loved my dish & the service was excellent! Highly recommend.View more

This restaurant has typical Spanish/ Catalan dishes. The waiters were awesome, very caring & nice. They did beyond what we expected to make us feel welcome & comfortable. The food is delicious & the ambiance very cozy & inviting.

I visited Old Montreal for (5) five days & Les Pyrenees was by far the absolute "best restaurant", of (6) six that I visited while on vacation! They were very friendly & courteous. I had the privilege of having the owners son wait on our table. He was very friendly & a pleasure to converse with, & made us feel like we were at home. They served absolutely the best Paella I have ever eaten, & the seafood was fresh with the rice & Chorizo seasoned like real authentic Spanish & French style cooking is known for. To cap off my meal, I had Crème Bruellee for dessert which was unbelievably awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant! You will not be disappointed!
