Review Summary

Reviews for Les Cafés Européens describe a warm, welcoming spot where drinks are of high quality and pastries pair well with the coffee. The coffee is often praised as excellent and well prepared, with a true European flavor that delights visitors. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, ideal for a quiet coffee break or a relaxed chat, and the staff are noted as friendly and attentive. Some comments highlight the café's convenient location around Place Longueuil and solid offerings like muffins, cookies, tea, and matcha. A few notes mention a negative experience related to language and service, with claims that English is not accommodated and that non French speakers may receive an unfriendly French lesson, which stands in contrast to the otherwise positive impressions. Overall, the reviews point to solid coffee and pastry quality, pleasant service when the mood is right, and a European cafe vibe that many would keep in their favorites.

By far the best coffee around!

Disrespectful & refuse to serve in English, even though they can communicate in English. If you don't speak French, I strongly suggest you buy your coffee somewhere else. Otherwise, you'll get an unpleasant French lesson by their staff.

If you are a tourist or don't speak French & want to avoid racial discrimination, be cautious.

Around 12:40 PM on February 10, 2026, I entered here. At the time, I was speaking in English, & an elderly staff aggressively told me,'This is Quebec, you should speak French.' I replied,'OK, I can speak French, but I'm more comfortable with English, & you can understand me. I didn't mean to offend-I just wanted to get a coffee.' However, he kept emphasizing his political views, refusing to acknowledge that Canada is a bilingual country & denying that Quebec is part of Canada. He also forcibly interfered with my freedom of speech & asked invasive questions like,'Where do you work?' This was highly impolite & rude & violated my privacy. Perhaps because I am Asian, I felt discriminated against & humiliated.

If this place cares more about politics & is unwelcoming to people who speak other languages, please put up a sign on the door.

The staff is always nice & I like how velvety their coffee is. The also use great tea for their London fogs.

Cute cafe with decent coffee & amazing service. Better than Starbucks. Ordered matcha latte, latte x2, plus palmier pastry.
