I went there with the idea there wouldn't be any kind of surprises. I would be sampling another attempt at the gyudon, but hey I did get surprised. Not only did they add their own flair to it, special kimchi sauce on it not for everyone since it is a bit spicy as you probably wouldn't expect from a gyudon (you would get the choice to add spices at gyudon shops). The taste was crisp & tangy. While the main attraction the beef was close to perfection in tenderness & taste. It was my first trip there I'll probably go back to see how it stacks.
Had the tonkatsu too, but it was pretty burnt. I'm sure it was only this one time though so no points off.

japanese-inspired, small, cozy spot in mile end - i had the special-of-the-week don with pork belly nuggets & spicy shichimi mayo sauce. very delicious, strong spiciness! would personally appreciate more vegetable with more acidic flavours to balance out the quality amount of the crispy deep-fried meat. & perhaps the small soup spoon was a bit awkward to eat rice with in a tall donburi bowl (wanted to ask the staff about this but was feeling a bit introverted that day sorry).
staff was very friendly & attentive the whole time!

This place was such an amazing experience. We didn't have a reservation (on a Friday night), so we waited outside & finally got a table. The host was lovely; even gave us complimentary drinks to warm us up 🥹. The food was some of the best donburi I've ever eaten, & their hot sauces? Oh you NEED to try them. Boyfriend & I will be repeat customers for sure (& we will call to make a reservation next time 💖)!!!

Fantastic meal at LeDon! My partner had the unagi & said it was the best eel he has ever had. I had the egg/tofu & it was very umami, creamy & the sauces were perfection. Will be back soon!

The food is soo good & flavourful. Make sure you ask for their hot sauces because they elevate the dishes! The workers are also wonderful! Super funny guys & the bartender makes great mocktails. Just tell him what flavours you like & he'll make you something that compliments your food.

Well seasoned chicken karaage. The sauce has a nice sweetness. The katsu don was good, recommend having it with the Japanese curry. They also play anime on the tv with Japanese music.

Coming to LeDon is like hanging out at an old friends place! The staff are extremely nice & so passionate about their food, we always love coming back. Their specials & experimental hot sauces are always so fun to try.
