The kind of discovery you dream of making on your travels. The ambiance, the food, the staff, everything perfectly aligns to create a magical experience that you & your loved ones will want to revisit time & time again.
Intimate, authentic, affordable, magnificent! Food is great, people are really kind, & this doesn't feel like the pretentious world's cuisine style, but yes a sincere tribute to Japanese culture.
where to start...the food was amazing. as someone from a predominantly east asian city (vancouver), i've been on the hunt for authentic japanese food in mtl & ledon surely takes the cake. we popped in for a late dinner around 830 & were sat immediately! we ordered the gyoza, korokke, katsudon, & karaage don. get the korokke. you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu though!! on top of the delish food, our server, alex, was hilarious & so attentive - a downright delight. i can't believe we hadn't tried this place earlier. time to make up for lost time now hehehe
tl;dr awesome food, wonderful staff. highly recommend.
As a regular customer who visits at least once a month, I can't say enough good things about Ledon Donburi. This isn't just a place I eat, it's a place I genuinely look forward to visiting. If you want to eat a Donburi.
The food is delicious with consistent quality. Every dish is prepared with care & attention, especially for me who has many allergies.
The level of care is hard to find & makes the entire dining experience feel personal.
I highly recommend Ledon Donburi to anyone looking to try different style of Japanese food, something that isn't like the usual sushi. It has a friendly atmosphere, & outstanding customer service.
I had a wonderful experience at LeDon Donburi! The food was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. The staff was super friendly & made us feel welcome. The cozy vibe & anime-themed decor added a fun touch to the evening. Highly recommended if you're craving authentic Japanese rice bowls in Montreal!
japanese-inspired, small, cozy spot in mile end - i had the special-of-the-week don with pork belly nuggets & spicy shichimi mayo sauce. very delicious, strong spiciness! would personally appreciate more vegetable with more acidic flavours to balance out the quality amount of the crispy deep-fried meat. & perhaps the small soup spoon was a bit awkward to eat rice with in a tall donburi bowl (wanted to ask the staff about this but was feeling a bit introverted that day sorry).
staff was very friendly & attentive the whole time!
Charles & Alex were kind, charming, & very welcoming. LeDon offers a delightful combination of great food & a fun atmosphere. The decor is cozy & warm, & each unique dish is a creative reinvention of classic Japanese fare. This restaurant is a must-try in Montréal!
I was told by a friend to visit together to this unique restaurant the they found from the internet together. The restaurant has the Japanese feeling, with a lot of anime related decorations & the Japan themes. The place is a little bit small, but it feels like you are in a real small restaurant in Japan. The owner & the staffs are super friendly. The food is amazing & it's rich in flavour in every bite you take. They offer some tea variant & they also have alcohol imported from Japan. The price is also not as pricier than I expected & still in a good price. Overall a really good place to eat, with a delicious food & a good price.
**Authentic Japanese Experience at Ledon donburi** Ledon donburi is hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm & inviting ambiance that feels like a slice of Japan in the heart of the city. The decor is elegant & minimalistic, with traditional Japanese elements that set the perfect mood for a memorable meal. Now, let's talk about the food-absolutely phenomenal! The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, each prepared with the utmost care & precision. I tried their signature Donburi bowls, & I was blown away by the freshness of the ingredients & the depth of flavors. The rice was perfectly cooked, & the toppings, whether it was the tender beef, fresh sashimi, or the delicate tempura, were all seasoned to perfection. The attention to detail extends to every aspect of the dining experience, from the beautifully presented dishes to the attentive & knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to explain the menu & make recommendations. The quality of the food & the authenticity of the flavors make it clear that Ledon donburi is a restaurant that takes pride in delivering a true Japanese dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or just looking to try something new, Ledon donburi is a must-visit. The prices are reasonable for the quality, & the portions are generous. It's the perfect spot for a casual lunch, a special dinner, or even a quiet evening out. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!
Well seasoned chicken karaage. The sauce has a nice sweetness. The katsu don was good, recommend having it with the Japanese curry. They also play anime on the tv with Japanese music.
A rather small interior is more than made up for by quality of the food. The authentic Japanese flavours are delicious, & the cocktails are fun Japanese-inspired takes on familiar drinks. The service is very friendly & sufficiently quick, plus the prices are extremely reasonable for a quality restaurant. For fans of Japanese cuisine, this place is a must. We will definitely be going back!
I've been craving some good Japanese comfort food since visiting Japan years back & this place definitely scratched the itch!! I can't wait to go back & try more things on the menu
Wow! Just wow! One of the best stops in Montreal to a warm Japanese food that scapes the obvious. GREAT STAFF! LIKE, 20/10 on service. I was a server for a very long time & can identify authentic & good customer service. These ppl are PASSIONATE! I ate so fast i forgot to take pics but good looks incredible too!
One of the best restaurants not just in Beaubien, but Montreal as a whole. The location is akin to a hole-in-the-wall narrow kitchen of magic, but it only adds to the authentic Japanese experience. The limited space & seatings helps with the intimate atmosphere & very responsive customer service (you are always in speaking distance of the waiters & cooks). What a gem.
