Review Summary

Le Violon receives widespread praise for inventive seasonal French inspired cuisine, made with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. Service is described as impeccable and the atmosphere as warm and intimate, making it a memorable spot for dates or celebrations. Some guests note high prices for relatively small portions and occasional inconsistency across dishes, and a few nights are described as loud or busy, but overall the experience is described as outstanding and many say they will return, with standout items including lobster starters, gnocchi, beef tartare, seabream, and the Basque cake.

Nice decor, good vibe, friendly service. I'd go back on a date but not with a group. Portions are too small for the price, $400 of food left our group of four still hungry. It's made worse by serving the small bits of food on large plates, which really just emphasizes the fact that you just spent $40 on 3 bites of sweetbreads. Bread costs extra too (but the delicious house/anchovy butter makes it sort of worth it) Even the drinks are small! One more suggestion - if you're recommending that your guests order to share plates, consistency with the number of "things" a dish comes with is important. It's frustrating to have to split 3 slices of protein between 4 people for one thing, & have the even 4 for another.

Awesome new restaurant in Montreal. We tried it within the first few weeks of opening, & everything was impeccable. The decor & vibe really set the mood for the culinary experience to come. Fresh, meticulously prepared ingredients with great flavours. On the pricier end of the spectrum, but don't let that stop you from trying it!

Right out of a Parisian neighborhood, Le Violon takes you on a beautiful voyage of taste & sight. The decor is stunning, fresh & welcoming. The original artwork of Dan Climan is a feast for the eyes & the incredible, fresh dishes a feast for the palate! Congratulations to the entire team.

I was so excited to try Montreal's newest restaurant, Le Violon & man, did it not disappoint. From the curated decor & lighting, to the refined service & harmonious menu - everything was delightful. Although on the pricier side, the cuisine is well worth it, as it is filled with surprise flavors, consistency & aromatic mouthfuls. The polished ambiance & skilled staff brought the entire experience together. Le Violon has to potential to be one of Montreal's top restaurants. Already looking forward to coming back!
